I dislike the stupid theme. If you know a meteorite is coming at you that far in advanced it is really easy to send a rocket up near it and the micro gravity will make it miss. A meteor will be hitting a very precise target to hit us so moving it just a little bit makes it miss. The designer clearly didnt research their theme well enough.
I dislike that the Chronobot scales with your worker efficiency instead of having a separate scale. The better your engine, the more difficult the bot because it gets more actions. The themes backstory eliminates your approach. They don’t know the trajectory of the impact because they saw the event, not discovered the asteroid. They don’t have the manpower to prevent it (except in one module where factions fight to prevent/hasten the event) because an apocalypse has already occurred before epic entered in the exact same location. They also only recently found out the truth so the event is 4 “eras” away the length of an era is not specified, so you can imagine this being days to decades (there is one faction that knew about this for a hundred years but they WANT the event to occur because it is central to their religion). The asteroid carries a new material that is central to time travel, which is why it’s impact is the same for both events as it went back in time and created the apocalypse. This also means “evacuation” may or may not be off the earth as the only thing that is at ground zero is the capital (common game board).
@@tychay Hey, you will be happy to know that the latest opponent, the Chronossus, is designed to behave more like a human player. Even if you don’t get the Infinity Box, get Fractures of time for an enhanced experience and an opponent that’s more bearable AND functions with the mods and expansions!
Just discovered your channel and really appreciate the format! Subscribed. I chose to comment here due to my fondness for Anachrony. Th;e solo mode is fantastic, as you point out, and it has become my top worker placement game overall. One thing I would point out is play time: 30 minutes per player underestimates it a bit for what I’ve seen. I can’t complete a two player game in under two to 2 1/2 hours.
My games club recently bought this and I played my first game the other day and came last playing Path of Harmony A with Haulani :( Anyway, I obviously had to rewatch your video, we didn't get the exosuits but wow! you did an amazing paint job on yours. I'm not surprised really because I know how long you've been painting and I've seen some of your other work but still...

Been thinking about getting this when I order Septima. Does this still hold up in your eyes? Most of your tastes have been pretty close to on the money for me
This is an amazing channel concept. The video was well done. Subscribed.
Cheers and welcome aboard
Anachrony, my favourite solo game of 2017 and probably my favourite worker placement game. Just a great game. What do you like or dislike about it?
I dislike that my exosuits aren't painted like yours!
I dislike how much it cost for me to get the base + XP here to New Zealand :D

Yeah, play times are such a hard thing to get right due to every group playing a little differently.

Cheers. The exosuits I kinda cheated on as I use an airbrush to paint most of them. The chronobot ones literally took 5 minutes each.

Just unboxed and sorted the infinity box... 2 beautiful hours... Have you had time to play the new modules???
Not yet, i've basically not played much other than spirit island this last month as i've been trying to load up on plays of each of the new spirits.
Kudos!!
Great review Jarrod! I would also add that the Fractures of Time expansion is excellent. And your mini's look fantastic!
Cheers. This was one of the very first vids i did, way before fractures was even an idea i reckon :)

I still like it a lot, but due to setup times and the baby it hasnt hit the table in ages.
@@3MBG thats a fair consideration. I might look at grabbing the essential edition and seeing how it goes :)
Who painted the exosuits and where can I see images of them for my own painting?
My old blog "vomkrieg" has pictures. Just google "vomkrieg anachrony" and it should turn up.
Where can I even buy this game?😢
Looks like its between prints at the moment
Niceee
