    Been looking for a recent QoR interview for a minute now.
    Great catch Kyra w/ Cpl. Wilson - wished he’d gone on to do jump school & earn his wings @ the unit though.
    Caught you saying “when you we’re in the military”; You’ve left after about 1yr+, what happened, why did you leave the reserves, could you do a an update video on why you’re no longer an Engineering Officer w/ the reserves?

      I have a guy who’s been in for much longer and he’s been a paratrooper with QOR for years. Trying to get him on the show but he’s about to get deployed (in a few weeks) so he’s super busy! But I am trying!!
      && yesss I will make a video on my own journey soon!
      Thanks for watching and thanks for the feedback, greatly appreciated 😌

    I just finished my FORCE test and when I told the staff that I wanted to join the Queens Own Rifles he told me they were full. I have been emailing and calling everyday to know what can I do if there is a wait list or something

      You figure that out yet? I’m waiting on my force test. Also trying to go QOR

    Will I get the choice between full-time and part-time BMQ or is it just what ever is available at the time? Just wondering because some reserves says they handle the BMQ themselves on a part time basis.

    Were you able to join as an officer without finishing your 4 year degree?

    • @KyraNankivell
      @KyraNankivell  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yesss, you can become an officer while your degree is in-progress. But you will not advance from the rank of OCdt until you graduate!

    Hi Kyra, I was wondering if there is any other commitment that might come up other than the one weekend/month and one day/week? Because people with civilian with jobs can’t really commit any full time hours with caf

      Hey Saumitra, I think there is a general understanding that people have full-time careers or full-time school outside of the Reserves. So if there is a training or exercise that requires a larger time commitment it's typically optional. One exception is BMOQ-Army which is mandatory for officers to reach OTP (operational training point - the training level you have to reach within ~3 years or you may be released by your unit, don't quote me). BMOQ-Army is not run on weekends, so you actually do have to take it as a full time course and it's more than 4 weeks long. This is where the Reserves lose a lot of potential officers, because people can't take the time off work (or the pay-cut from their civilian jobs).
      A bit of a long answer but I hope this makes sense!

      @@KyraNankivell Yikes, that requirement for BMOQ-A needs to be adjusted in 2023 if they’re serious about meeting recruitment numbers amongst other inflexible policies
