Soon you will be driving it. Thank you for sharing your story. It takes time to get them back to road worthy depending on the condition they were in when people buy them. I am glad to hear you have been saving one.
Had a 1990, it was my favorite patrol car. Tracked down the current owner but they are going to restore it and not interested in selling it. I wish I had known then what I know now and I would have bought it unpon it's retirement.
Yes sir, they are a ton of fun, even now with all the aftermarket parts, and the possibilities of modern coyote and T56 six speed swap, add to the ton of fun factor to these fox body mustangs.
That's got to be as rare a color on the SSP as my metallic brown with tan top '90 LX 5.0 convertible. Yes, factory light-metalflake M&M brown with light tan interior and morw tan plastic than any other Mustang I've ever seen. Door panels, dash, everyrhing except that damn non-tilt airbag steering wheel that showed up for 1990.
Awesome! I love the four eyes one. They are fetching good money in today's market especially if they are running, with all the tags in place and paper work.
I still have my FHP SSP after 22 years!
Wow! SSP brings good money, and are hard to find too.
I bought my’86 Idaho SSP mustang in Dec ‘91.
Been restoring it for the last 2 years. Mine hopefully will be a decent driver 🤞

My understanding they were manual windows to keep down the weight

Damn I will not sell it either, knowing what we know now about these fox body mustangs, and those SSP are special too with low production numbers.
I had an 87 FHP car in the early 90's. It was a ton of fun to drive wish I held onto it.

Great video! We have a 1993 Calypso SSP....Former Ford Test Vehicle lucky to have.

My dad got pulled over by one of those grey Georgia state patrol mustangs, it had a spoiler and other stuff. Overall just looked like space ship.
And now today 2023 those SSP fox body in good running and driving state commend good money on the market too.
Awesome video y'all! We appreciate the credit for the article! 🔥
We are learning a lot about these foxbody mustangs as we continues our research on them, thank you for the great article.
Awesome is what it is!!
Another Dope episode 🔥🔥, I had a couple of friends in the 90s that bought ssp stangs from
The auction
Thanks Chad. We have only see one SSP at a car show here in Illinois.
Georgia had one back in the day!
Now those SSP are sort after by fans because those cars are now classic cult classic cars.
In my 20s i saw the CHP SSP on the 14 freeway in so cal giving speeding tickets🤣
The SSP are pricey these days, and the notchback itself continue to go up in value to find a clean rust free, and stock one.
Just got my Texas DPS SSP
I am curious what you are going to do with it. Is it in a driving condition or you going to restore it.
I’m lucky to own a 85 and 92 Chippers
Yes sir, you are a lucky man. They are commending good money in todays market especially a clean running one with all the tags and paperwork in place.
@@mcscgreenwheels I believe the 92 was a CHP out of San Jose and the 85 was a CHP from the L. A. Area
Best of both world four eyes and areo headlight notch.@@alext.8844
Have a 86 Utah Highway patrol car.
