I always admire this aswell. I also think it has something to do with the scandinavian culture. We're putting out a box with decluttered toys etc. regularly and people often throw their trash in it or throw the items on the floor. Very disapointing and sad
I'm not gonna lie, the thing that astonishes me the most is how you're totally fine with not wearing socks in the winter! I wear super thick socks and slippers from like October to March!
Until recently I pride myself on decluttering and staying neat and today. Three days ago we moved house for the first time in 20 years and I’m ashamed of the amount of “stuff” we have. With all my tidy concealed containers and built in furniture I can’t fit everything we have in a bigger house! To my surprise my husband is culling his tools. The best way I’ve found to declutter now is have a removalist transport heavy items and transport the rest yourself to realise the volume of items one owns. We’ve been moving our own small items for a week now and still have more to go. The new house looks like Benita’s storage before sorting in every room. I’ve been asked if I’m stressed. I’m not, just overwhelmed. My hat goes off to all of you who have moved house. Onwards and upwards from here. Take care everyone and “Hi” from Sydney Australia.

This is wonderful. Many thanks. I wanted to share a tip my mom and dad used to do that I still continue today: After I shower, I use a squeegie window cleaner on the tiles and the glass to remove excess water and steam. It keeps mildew at bay and then the big cleaning is less frequent. Take care, S
I do this too, although not all the time, ever since i discovered i could polish the tiles and glass with Rinseaid, and the water just slides off. I reapply whenever it seems to need it.
Watching Benita cleaning feels like cleaning my home, so I don't have to do it myself... just kidding. I share the feeling, it's so good having a clean house. Taking a shower and relaxing after a long cleaning and tidying journey feels awesome.

It’s amazing how calming it is to watch how you clean and organize. I have gotten many good ideas from your channel and have been prompted to declutter in my own life. Thank you for making these videos. I am from Winnipeg in Canada where we do have a recycling system. And I recently discovered a textile recycling centre where I am going to be taking worn out clothes and linens.
Giving things away at your housing association/apartment building is such a Nordic thing. I'm Finnish and live in the UK and here buying anything second-hand or getting a donated piece is pretty rare and often seen as a sign of poverty. My British husband has also never gotten used to me opening the bedroom windows in the morning, whatever the weather! :)

My dog has a toy box and I need to pick up toys a few times a day. He needs a variety as he gets bored easily. Each week I empty his box and get rid of any trash and give it a good wipe. When I put it all back he gets so excited to find new treasures he forgot about! Just like a little child. If for some reason I leave his mess out, his anxiety spikes. He gets into things he shouldn't. He becomes jumpy and cranky. So, I 100% believe that a tidy space is mentally good for both humans and our furry friends! I only wish he wouldn't try to attack my broom and vacuum every day. I have two birds as well. One talks. Every time I clean in his view he says "thank you" over and over! This was another great video. Knowing I was about to declutter my basement, a friend had sent me a few videos on decluttering from some very famous youtubers and they just weren't anywhere near as inspiring as yours.I went through your archives this weekend in search of your storage decluttering video. I really didn't want to do it but thanks to you Benita I was able to get my basement under control and looking pretty decent. It's a lot of work but I'll never let it get that bad again. Thanks for providing us with these well made videos that so mysteriously motivate us to want to do what we don't want to do!

Hello Benita! I love the common area where you share items with your neighbors - that is such a great idea! So wonderful - in Sweden they burn 99% of the trash and convert to energy - simply amazing! I always want to get up and clean right after watching your videos - I feel very refreshed 😄 I love the color of wood on your floors - we have a lot of ceramic tile in our house warmed up with throw rugs - but easy to clean :) Our IKEA store has some brand new storage bins and different items for getting organized - excited to check them out. One habit from you that I did apply and keep up is - tidying once a week - it does help lighten the clean when I am doing a deep clean. Thank you again for compiling the lists that you have for reference to purchase some of the items you have - I can usually google search and find the items that are the same (different price) or similar - I am in Canada!😄❤😄

I'm sure people have talked about it, but I love the approach to the recycling being accessible both in proximity and ease of doing so. In the US, it is difficult to recycle textiles that aren't quite fit for donation if you live outside a major city, like us here in Iowa. (Hello from Iowa!)

I love change and love moving. Not sure how near in future it will be though, I live in this particular apartment because of the outdoor space for my cats. They're both 16 though so in a few years' time I'll probably move.

To be honest a lot were just props, like the cardboard boxes, newspapers and some items too. I got those from our recycling rooms but I had them in my apartment for weeks. Also I didn't recycle like I would normally. I held on to all mail and receipts or months😅. I was not a happy camper.

I'm sure people have talked about it, but I love the approach to the recycling being accessible both in proximity and ease of doing so. In the US, it is difficult to recycle textiles that aren't quite fit for donation if you live outside a major city, like us here in Iowa. (Hello from Iowa!)
The convenience sure makes it so much easier and I understand that trying to recycle in the States is a huge undertaking!

Hi Benita, your lovely apartment seems to suit your lifestyle perfectly, and you also are fortunate to have a wonderful outdoor space for gardening and relaxing in the warmer weather. I am just curious as to why you have plans to move in the near future.
I love change and love moving. Not sure how near in future it will be though, I live in this particular apartment because of the outdoor space for my cats. They're both 16 though so in a few years' time I'll probably move.

To be honest a lot were just props, like the cardboard boxes, newspapers and some items too. I got those from our recycling rooms but I had them in my apartment for weeks. Also I didn't recycle like I would normally. I held on to all mail and receipts or months😅. I was not a happy camper.
My best bit is at 10:52 when you walk out of your wardrobe, TRIUMPHANT!!! Well done ;-)
