Hey guys! here's a quick tour of the SVA Animation resources and some of NY that surrounds it! I hope this gives you a bit of an idea of what the area is like.
Although I did win the Silas H. Rhodes Scholarship at SVA I ultimately decided to attend USC because I love California and I love the animation community I've been lucky enough to befriend there XD
I started freaking the moment I saw room full of those tablets
This is definitely the school I dream to go one day, maybe if I survive the pandemic.

So how often do they give out scholarships? I really wanna go here but I cannot affordit

I've done a visit, and it depends on how strong of a candidate you are, but you will most likely get aid from them, both need based and merit, and then additionally if you live in America, you'll fill out the FAFSA when you apply to college.
I got a $36,000 total scholarship for merit so that $9,000 a year. Not really that much tbh and I would have to commute. Other schools have me much more which is pretty weird. I got accepted into the design program :)
一朵雲 Is GPA really important or do they look more at Portfolio cuz my GPA is rlly low right now under 3.0 but I plan on trying to bring it up a little senior year
@@astral8132 I was looking at scholarships today and I'm pretty sure all of the merits do require at least a 3.0

We traveled through Jamaica to get to SVA a few times so I had lots of cool shots filmed there
I’m in the dorms there right now! This school is pretty cool imo. It’s got its problems but so does every other school
What are the animation classes like?

What's the layout and amenities of the female dorms? And are there single dorms with kitchenettes available?
Man I wish I knew, I only was able to report on the things I saw that say in this video. Sadly we didn't tour the all female dorms on gramercy.

Hoping I can go to this school just less than two years. I’m hoping joining the national guard as a reserve will be worth it to help pay for this tuition
Where in Texas are you from? I live in Texas and I really want to get out and go to SVA but it’s so expensive!
lol im from austin but i had won a scholarship for sva. although im now going to USC for animation, i would still implore you to apply to SVA because they are very generous with the scholarships that they award.

Try for grants and scholarships. They are available.
@@alyssabullock6421 They liked my portfolio! Most colleges look for good concepts as well as good skill in your art and if they like it enough they accept you, and if they like it more than enough they'll give you a scholarship!
