I grew up in the 70s and I was do lead vocals in a band called Cliques. Nothing but Rock music. Dad was a retired drill instructor and hated it. I was growing up listening to this music, my dad's always playing in our home. Dad passed at 83 in 2018 but a few yrs before I took my parents out to eat and my friend was playing live music. He came back and asked if I wanted to sing a song. I walked up and sang this song. It was the first time I ever saw my dad cry. He said, I didn't even know that you could sing. That was a memory made I'll never forget.
I’m playing this now for my dying Mom of 97 years young. She’s not awake anymore doesn’t eat or drink water. But when I played this for her ….she sighed deeply. So I’m going to say in my heart she’s aware of her surroundings. Beautiful song my Mom loved. May my Mom go onto her Mansion in Heaven because to be absent from the body IS to be present with The Lord Christ. My Mom accepted Christ in late 70’s so I know she’s going to Heaven. Amen.

Me too. I always turn this on whenever I’m in the middle of a serious state of depression and/or despair. A song like this is always good for troubled souls in need.
I remember playing in the backyard at my grandparents home in the Autumn of 1965 and hearing this song coming from the house. It enchanted me as a 4 year old and I have never forgotten that memory. A very long time ago.
My parents were still together and trying to make the discord go away. They didn’t succeed but I believe each did their best. Not very good mind you-but what more can anyone do?
Music will always be timeless & transverse the language barrier. Even me, I was born in 03 & most kids have no clue of most artists before the 90s or 80s due to using their music in mainstream videos. But songs like this will always be a classic no matter the generation, family, color, culture, or anything that is used to divide us

My grandfather owned a boat dock and restaurant back in the 50s and 60s on the Tennessee River and there was a couple of speakers from the restaurant's jukebox that played outside at the dock and I can still remember this song playing when I was a kid. Eddie's voice was so smooth and beautiful. Every time I hear it takes me back and then I seem to always get some dust in my eyes that causes them to water. How I miss those days.
I heard a piece of this beautiful song on a commercial, and decided to find it to listen to the entire song. I am sitting here tearing up while reading all of these comments of people with similar beautiful memories. This song so reminds me of my mother-she played it, and similar songs as she cleaned house. Such great memories. I miss my parents. 💔
It was somewhere in the early 60's in a small bar on Rockford , Illinois's south side. Phil Canelli's place . Some one would punch this up on the Jute Box, Phil would go up front ,lean back ,and sing along with this song, and except for the song the whole place would go silent ,he had beautiful voice, I really miss those days ! I'm 87 by the way
in the early 70s i was 4 or 5. my grandparents had the record player downstairs in their apartment and two or three albums. eddy arnold’s greatest hits was the first album i ever loved. i knew all the songs. by the mid 70s i made my way up to my aunts “hi fi” in in the third floor (triple decker). that’s where the beatles, pink floyd and stevie wonder albums were. i’ve been on a musical journey ever since.
Go back 1 day? Yes it would be great! I wanted to play a Eddy Arnold song for my mom when she was passing. I asked her if she would like to hear a song and she nodded yes and smiled. I couldn't because I needed to stay with her. And if i did, i would of had to leave the hospital at her last moment. Mom and Dad both were Bog fans. Ii myself, i like his music. Thank you and God bless ❤️
A different world…miss it so much. I still have grandad’s stereo he bought at Hamilton’s furniture in Waco, TX the day I was born in 1961. It will still rattle the windows. Miss him and grandmother so much.

Dad and old spice bittersweet memories. Paul was a sailor, he was a navy seal, he was over seas when I was born. When he was home we'd dance, he'd stack his favorite 3 albums. Whats he doing in my world. And make the world go away understaning the word's. Tells my story..I glad he taught me to dance, Elvis and the Beatles were my choices. I'm grateful for the moments and the musicality we shared. Any one want to dance?
After reading so many of these comments, I get the sense of just how much this song and entertainer means to you and how you can connect personal experiences to specific times and places in your lives with the music. I am a broadcast engineer here in Toronto. I've done work all over North America for the major television networks and a lot of work in the film industry. I have connections not once, but twice with this song. The first working live and with prerecorded material with Eddie Arnold here in Toronto, Canada on a show that ran for over twenty-five years..."The Tommy Hunter Show" in the 1980's for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation using Studio 7 at the old TV plant on Jarvis Street. One of the magical moments in one's career to stand three feet away from Eddy Arnold during a rehearsal and listening to him without audio equipment. The entire crew had lunch in the studio with him. He was the real thing guys. I learned so much about television from him that day. The second time I ran into this song was with an Anne Murray Special in the nineties called "Country Croonin". She sang her album number, you guessed it "Make the World Go Away" on the same network. The same exact experience... standing three feet away during rehearsal. Each number different and delivered with different style, but both with mind blowing results. How lucky is that I ask you. I believe You Tube has the Anne Murray "Country Croonin" number "Make the World Go Away" I know you guys would be impressed with Anne Murray's rendition. I enjoyed reading all of your comments and it tugs at my heart strings. Just turned 70 and you are all correct about our present times in every possible way. What a gentleman Eddy Arnold was.

God, I miss those days. Things made sense. Yeah we had problems, but we didn't blame each other for them we just found away! I watched my mom & dad hold each other while they danced to this song. I could see the love in their eyes. What a great teaching moment for me and my siblings, what our current generation is missing so badly. If I could have one wish it would be to know then, as a kid, what I know now. I would certainly take in much more of that time period then I ever did, but thankfully I saved enough memories to go back in my mind and dream when I hear songs like this one...

This is one of my mom's favorites, too. Hope tomorrow isn't so rough for you & her.
❤❤❤
My mother had and died of emphysema from smoking back in 1978 I was 16 and she was only 38 and we played this at her funeral in front of hundreds in Columbus Ohio that’s how much she was loved….she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior 6 months before she died although she was a honest and wonderful lady… she really loved this song so much…RIP mom we’ll all be together soon…❤️❤️. My father died 20 years ago and he only received around 30 people so showed up…
This is my favorite version of this song. I'm 34, but when I get stressed and overwhelmed, this is the song that comes to mind.
Simply the best
Funny how that works ;-)
It is mine too. I'm 25 and I dig this version and I think this version is the best of all.
Me too. I always turn this on whenever I’m in the middle of a serious state of depression and/or despair. A song like this is always good for troubled souls in need.
I'm your age too and this is the song that comes to mind when I feel overwhelmed
When I was young that was the only revcord we had
I remember playing in the backyard at my grandparents home in the Autumn of 1965 and hearing this song coming from the house. It enchanted me as a 4 year old and I have never forgotten that memory. A very long time ago.
If it were that easy, especially my world my boyfriend is hurting me I cry every day.
@@Crystal-mn9vx you good?
My parents were still together and trying to make the discord go away. They didn’t succeed but I believe each did their best. Not very good mind you-but what more can anyone do?
Make the world go away! Its not the same world as back in them days!🐄🐄🐄🐄🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷
Hey how are you doing today....?
I feel this so deep in my heart. That's how timeless music feels...

Music will always be timeless & transverse the language barrier. Even me, I was born in 03 & most kids have no clue of most artists before the 90s or 80s due to using their music in mainstream videos. But songs like this will always be a classic no matter the generation, family, color, culture, or anything that is used to divide us
My Dad mentioned this song so I put it on for him he’s been bed ridden for the past year just wanted to make his day a little better great song!!!
That is beautiful, Richard. God bless your Dad.
Eddy Arnold had one of those voices you never forget--a very talented man.😊💒
Beautiful song

Eddy Arnold was the Elvis of their time. My mom loved this guy. We love Elvis singing it in our time. Love them both.
Back in 1966 my mom said lets go see this concert at Curtis Hixon downtown Tampa it was Eddie Arnold i was floored . A great memory.

My friend just passed from Alzheimers. I would play this for her...knew every word!
My mom had Dementia. She had Sundown Syndrome. I was her care giver for about ten years. Had to put her in a nursing home because she could no longer walk or do anything for herself. It was hard to watch her health deteriorate over the matter of a few years. She passed away in 2013.

Arnold grew up in extreme poverty and yet made something with his talented voice . He became a ⭐️ Star .
My dad died in 1977, and I can still see and hear him singing this song along with the 45RPM record on the console stereo in our living room. Ah, a great memory, indeed. Miss you, dad. Memories rolling down my cheeks.
My daddy and I listened to him when I was younger. Eddy Arnold is actually my great great uncle on my dad’s side. Music has been and always will be such a big part of my family. My daddy has been gone for 8 years now and there are times that I’ll listen to this music to remember the good times ❤️

He is my 4th cousin on my Dad’s side .

My Beloved Husband passed away in1995. I think of him everyday.💜
At least you were lucky to experience it. God bless 💕
Wish I could have my departed family back for one day. Mom, grandmas, brother. 😭😢😥
2:43 This song brings back memories of my late father. This is an old time classic. I love the melody
I dedicate this to my mom who would have been 98 today. She died last year and she loved this song. I love u mom!!!!
The Can-Am commercial that featured this song sent me here, how grateful I am to them for bringing this classic to my attention.
My dad loved all Eddy Arnold's songs. Me too
A different world…miss it so much. I still have grandad’s stereo he bought at Hamilton’s furniture in Waco, TX the day I was born in 1961. It will still rattle the windows. Miss him and grandmother so much.
Wow that's really nice keeping your granddad stereo that's must have a very big sentimental value.. I love this song.. How are you doing @Tracy?
Sitting here on the couch right now (20 hours of flight from home) and thinking how hard it can be sometimes to live an adult life. This song and the comments keep my fire blazing!
Cheers to everyone who fights everyday for a better life, to have a better family ❤
I Love You All ✨️

A timeless song for eternity for the human species that is imperfect and bound to make mistakes in all generations to come. Remaining connected to one's creative Source is a real challenge to most human beings. Such is life. The greatest gift one is given by the Intelligent Source!
One of the best songs ever thank you always makes me think of Mom& Pop
My stepdad played this man songs all the time bk in the sixties along with Ray Price and Johnny Horton , now at 62 my parents n these singers are all gone , what beautiful times in America where we never locked our doors n music was clean n beautiful. To go back in time just once to hear my stepdad singing n playing these songs with my mom n siblings.
It doesn't get any better than this. Eddy's the best!
My grandma loves this song every time it was on the radio
my dad did too. i love country but I'm also a diehard metal fan, saw Metallica in 98 when i was 17 saw George Jones at 31 with my dad. I listen to country when i miss him terribly, so🍀🤘 alot

songs like this are still in our hearts..someday do pray we can hear them..and remember their beauty..
I'm 65 and my Dad, who loved Eddy, used to play his albums so often in the 60s, he made me a massive fan as well. He used to call him the Frank Sinatra of Country. That was a lifetime ago....in so many ways.
This was my Mom's favorite song, i would come in from school and she would be playing in the turn table, Sure wish i could go back to thoes times. Thanks for your songs.
This was the song my Beloved Mother would request before she died. I miss her so much!
Today would be my dads 84th birthday. He passed a little over a year ago. My daughter asked me tonight what songs grandpa liked and I played this for her. I can remember my dad humming this song throughout my childhood 💜
I can only repeat what has been written. Except for Mr. Warfield: GOD bless Mr. Warfield ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Hello how are you doing today 👋
Hello ✋ Kathy how are you doing??
Dad and old spice bittersweet memories. Paul was a sailor, he was a navy seal, he was over seas when I was born. When he was home we'd dance, he'd stack his favorite 3 albums. Whats he doing in my world. And make the world go away understaning the word's. Tells my story..I glad he taught me to dance, Elvis and the Beatles were my choices. I'm grateful for the moments and the musicality we shared. Any one want to dance?
Hello how are you doing today....?
Hello ✋ Elisa how are you doing??
My mom liked this song she's gone now I'm 81 and I still like it

At 71 I discovered my late GI Dad just two and a half years ago thanks to DNA. My American family have told me that Eddie was his favourite singer. Can't listen to this without filling up!💔 RIP Dad.💔🌈💔🌈💔

When I was a young father of 3 kids and had a very tough job this was my anthem.
My Mom, who passed in 2004, loved Eddy Arnold's music! So to listen to him, is remembering her! Love you Mama!
So so great... how are you Juanita?

My Mom loved that song. Now she's gone and it gives me a lot of comfort to listen to it. Sorry about your Mom. God Bless
Great song. Just a kid when this song was popular.
My dad used to sing this song all through the house. Now, I know why. God, Dad, I miss you so much!!! 😪
IF ONLY WE COULD REALLY MAKE THE WORLD GO AWAY AND BE ABLE TO HEAR THOSE THINGS YOU USED TO SAY.
I worked in a nursing home in the eighties and I took care of this little old lady with dementia. She kept saying that she worked in a saloon when she was younger so I asked her to sing a song this was the song she sang . It brought tears to my eyes and now I sometimes sing it to my grandchildren .
Today is my mom’s birthday and she and her best friend used to listen to this song every night when I was a teenager, my dad was gone a lot because he was serving our country! I had wonderful parents...unconditional love and support always!
My ex wife showed up at my dad's funeral. She brought back all the memories I had hoped I had forgotten.
I was a child in second grade and was told my mother was not my mother but my aunt I couldn’t put a 5 block boll together and I feel in love with this song I am 61 years old and still go back to listen to it every one have a blessed day
