Went to a Cowboy Bar after work on a Friday of a very busy week. Jack was an old timer whom all of us young bucks respected and often consulted. There were five of us and Jack was the first to the Juke Box. He put in several quarters while punching the buttons for his favorite Patsy Cline songs. He came back to our table and sat down. As Patsy Cline's incredible voice came floating through the smokey air..... Jack began to tear up a little. Her song transported Jack back to the 1950's. He pulled his money clip out of his pocket and peeled off a Hundred Dollar Bill and said, "I'll buy the first round".
Thanks for relating that story. God bless Jack. You know, it's amazing after all these years since her tragic death, Patsy's voice still moves people. She achieved so much in her very short life. She belongs to only a very select group of artists who had the "perfect" voice. You could feel the heartache and emotions pouring out when she sang. At least we still have her recordings to enjoy!

Authored by Hank Cochran in 1961, “She’s Got You” inspired Patsy Cline in a way that no other song had ever before. As the story goes, Cochran called Cline up as soon as he was finished writing the tune to let her know that he had composed her next #1 hit. Her friend Dottie West was visiting, and Cline told Cochran to bring a bottle of liquor, his guitar and the lay to her house for an impromptu listening session. Cochran later revealed that Patsy was so moved by the piece that she learned it on the spot, in love with the lyrics. She recorded it at her very next studio session (December 17, 1961), and fell in line nicely with her previous knockout, “Crazy” (1961). Released as a single on January 10, 1962, “She’s Got You” - an extremely lonesome composition that punches you in the gut - solidified Miss Cline’s status as an American icon. ONE MAJOR SUCCESS‼️ In 1977, Loretta Lynn issued a revival of it (for her tribute album to Cline, titled “I Remember Patsy”) that reached #1 on the Billboard Country chart❕💜🎶💚 May you rest in peace, Virginia Patterson Hensley, a.k.a. I am 77 now and remember well the day Patsy died. I still tear up when I hear her voice. Like so many others I listened to her on AM radio and 45's. No auto tune then and few if any used multi-track recordings. Just a piano, a couple back up singers at most and a woman with a voice that few have been able to match. She touched so many of us then and still has an impact on others today. I sometimes wonder what could have been... she still lives in the mists at the back of my mind, singing clearly, but far away.

I love Patsy Cline. She is the greatest singer of all time. This song is so beautiful. Just listening to it brings back such wonderful and care-free memories. Music from the 50"s and 60"s was the best. Thanks TH-cam for allowing me to listen to all the classics.
Patsy Cline was a great singer . One of the best voices in her time. I will always remember her. And keep listening to her music.

What a beautiful voice, and such a wonderful delivery by Patsy. I am still in love with her.
The voice of an angel.
You are dead right bob
This has to be one of the hardest songs of all time. Just devastating
The words do resonate and she sings it perfectly.
Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, could sing a torch song like Patsy. No one else compares.
Class by herself
Her voice just sends chills down my back. There’s only one other singer I’ve ever heard that has that effect on me.
Who’s that?
She was way before my time but Patsy can belt her songs out there! She has her place among the Best of the Best!! ,🎶💞🔥
Way before your time? No-- Patsy was TIMELESS. As long as we have the ability to play recorded music, she will live forever!
Hi, Shayda--- Patsy may have been "before your time," but her music was truly "timeless!" And you are very right in saying that she was among "the best of the best"! I am from the same era as Patsy-- OLD, in other words!-- and I am SO GLAD that younger people like you are still listening to and passing along her music!! My blessings to you!!
She will always be number one. Her voice is mesmerizing it melts my very soul.
She left us too soon, sang to capture our hearts and a beauty. The Lord works in His own ways.
Being a Musician, I realize just how the background music on Patsy's records helped highlite her voice. Just beautuful, esp the piano.
Hello how are you doing...?
That's Floyd Cramer on the piano !

My buffalo Pearl wrote “Let Me Be” a long time ago,
Patsy Cline is a great singer in the 60’s.
R.I.P. your voice won’t be forgotten.
I’ve got your picture
That you gave to me
And it’s signed with love
Just like it used to be
The only thing different
The only thing new
I’ve got your picture
She’s got you
I’ve got the records
That we used to share
And they still sound the same
As when you were here
The only thing different
The only thing new
I’ve got the records
She’s got you
I’ve got your memory
Or, has it got me
I really don’t know
But I know, it won’t let me be
I’ve got your class ring
That proved you cared
And it still looks the same
As when you gave it, dear
The only thing different
The only thing new
I’ve got these little things
She’s got you
I’ve got your memory
Or, has it got me
I really don’t know
But I know, it won’t let me be
I’ve got your class ring
That proved you cared
And it still looks the same
As when you gave it, dear
The only thing different
The only thing new
I’ve got these little things
She’s got you
Not another word needs be said.

Patsy cline will always be my favorite
Beautiful voice. Today's "singers" think that being loud and searching for the notes is talent.
There will never be another voice like hers!
Simple music can make you sing, a simple hug can make you feel, better, simple things can make you happy, I hope my simple hello will put a smile on your face..
Hello!!! How are you doing today, please
pardon me for intruding into your privacy but I
just wanted to know if you're a fan ? Have a
great day..
The little girl with a tear in her voice ❤
Back when female Country stars had talent and class.❤
I just absolutely adore Patsy Cline, the passion and emotion in her voice is unmatched to this day. This song is just so magical ❤️❤️
Patsy Cline, the epitome of effortless talent.
Don't get me wrong, i'm sure she sung a plenty before her voice turned to silk, got her practice in.
But she never strains, never forces a note.
Just wow.
It's amazing how some songs remind you of the one that got away.
It's so sweet and sincere, Toms version is powerful and final, Elvis version is heartfelt and broken... Beautiful all 3
Totally Beautiful , Beautiful voice Patsy Cline ,,,,She's got you

Hey how are you doing?
Hello there
How are you?
Hello how are you doing
Her vocals can never be duplicated.... the resonating tone classifies a time when the singer had to do the vocals with meaning.....and we all feel it! Beautiful!❤❤❤❤❤❤💫
No-one can stand up to this singer.
Patsy Cline forever in our hearts
She has a better voice than a lot of singers now days
her voice is so beautiful
I see my own mother sashaying at our kitchen counter. Love these songs
She's the best
I love this song what a voice she has ❤..
Patsy cline is one of my favorite country singers with soul and blues.
One of the most talented singers.
The final “she’s got to you” near the end really makes you feel likes she’s telling us a message
Her eyes lit up
She was and always will be one of great ones. She could sing like an angle. She must be putting on a helluva show in heaven!
Nao tenho palavras para descrever o quanto essa melodia e essa letra são lindas!!

Hello how are you doing today
yeah absolutely I’ve been married for 32years I was 24 and she was 20. She got cancer in 2020 I was totally lost without her. She took a major hit the treatment was horrible for her. I could do nothing to change any thing so I felt helpless I miss her everyday. Mothers are the glue that holds everyone together.....seeing this makes me miss her even more I come to this page all the time just to have that nostalgia
