  • Vintage Guitar Oldenburg and Tobias Hoffmann present a Fender Telecaster from 1969. More infos about the guitar at: www.vintage-guitar.de/detailsv...
The guitar shown was played through a Fender Deluxe Reverb from 1978 and recorded with a Shure SM57 (left) and a Sennheiser 409 (right) . The backing tracks were recorded into a Fame Twin Looper on the same instrument right before the recording of each video. A Red Line 6 DL-4 was used for additional loops. Overdrive Sounds come from a Vemuram Jan Ray or a Greer Amps - Ghetto Stomp and the Greer Amps Lightspeed was used as a booster.
Tobias Hoffmann is a award winning guitar player from cologne, germany. He combines the sounds of Jazz, Blues, Rock, Surf and some experimental stuff. Check him out:

This guitar has a very unique sound in all positions, I bought this exact model 1960 in Squire version. Rosewood board, pine body, maple neck, broadcaster bridge pick-up Seymore Duncan neck pickup, 3ply guard, chrome tuners, a go to reliable tone machine. Love this guy's playing and ditto technique.

Tobias has a way of making each and every brand/model he plays seem like exactly the right tool for the musical job at hand -- often defying preconceptions. He's a creator on a higher plane -- if this mini concert isn't evidence, I don't know what is.

100% right! He should be playing all over Europe doing exactly what he does on camera but live. He’s a singular talent! It’s in the moment that he shines - an incandescent talent! Come on! Who is managing this guy? Are you deaf dumb and blind? He’s a fantastic talent

Wow! From that simple reggae-like loop at the start to a full post rock wig out! When you flipped that line 6 to reverse the loop you created an amazing palette of rock driven-on jazz scales with further loops of world Music like textures. You cut through that dense soundscape by using harmonics (highly reminiscent of The Smile) as points of light. Just great! That vintage blonde tele in your hands is a very versatile but direct instrument. Fantastic! I’ve gone straight back in and watched it again!
