As a long-term sedentarian, I find I enjoy walking more with my poles than without. I like having the upper body/arm exercise. I use the poles as stabilizers with attachments the same as those on the ends of canes, which keeps me from being wobbly. Also you get the subtle smile "high five" from all the other senior pole walkers who love it too!
Every adult and child should own a bicycle and ride it regularly. Bicycles are healthy exercise and fossil fuels free transportation. Cities need to do more to encourage people to ride bicycles to work, school or for fun by providing protected bike lanes. Ebikes are bringing many older adults back to cycling.

@@debbietampasheher3682 I love radio-I'm an amateur operator (ham). That's how I know he's over driving the microphone. I never heard Art Bell (or any professionally produced radio show) over drive their microphones so horribly. But I do understand nostalgic radio notions. Many hams use vintage professional gear for AM transmissions and strive for highest-quality audio(as we do in any mode). All hams want to sound good and we regularly check our audio to ensure that we never sound like Dr. Greger in these podcasts. It happens with setting up new gear and new component combinations. I suspect new gear is the problem here--and no concept of how to adjust drive levels at the source. Yes I've contacted the NF.O team. Enjoy your Saturday.
@@debbietampasheher3682 Oh yeah, Well--to be honest it's why I generally hate podcasts, no matter how great the host or guests are. They generally have poor-to-crap audio. There's even one where the host has his SUPER BASSY (white boy sounding like Barry White) studio audio setup, but then his guests have their crappy thin-tinny "came with the system" microphones and the imbalance is maddening and very difficult to listen to. Much like the call-ins you remember. I avoid those. Cheers!
Because the audio is so horrible here, I suggest turning on captions and running the replay speed up to a comfortable reading rate. Probably save time that way too. I hope they get the audio difficulties corrected soon.
It may also help if you scroll the page up so you don't see the "over-clocked" graphic that represents sound, but can just read the captions. 1.75x speed is about right for me. HTH
I discovered some surprising things when I started exercising. How good it made me feel, how addictive it was, how much younger I feel, and how much more energy I had. The last was the most surprising. I was expending way more energy, but after working out I didn't have less energy, I had more! Weird.

When I was a kid we all owned bikes and rode as much as we could. Not so much these days.

Not everyone. Some people live in places where it's not as practical as others. I'd rather walk or take public transport, anyway!
:)
There is a lot of audio distortion. The line level needs to be lower on the recording....
or move the mouth slightly further from the microphone. I can't handle that. doggonit. It's overdriven on the front end.
It is nostalgic for me lol like listening to Art Bell on the radio back in the day

Where was the audio engineer here? This audio is over modulated and clipping.
I sent NF.O a note on this one, it is horrible. Suggest others contact them too.
I'd ask for your money back.
Fasting is under appreciated.
Excellent!! A new podcast! Love this longer format. 😎
Thank you Dr Gregor

is it possible to re-upload with corrected audio please? There's some really good advice here in this podcast but really difficult to listen to.
TY.
Ok. Glad to hear I'm not the only one thinking the audio sounds bad.
-12 dB and still distorted.
it's whacked because he's over-driving the mic element. There's no way to back that out.
Excellent! I ready enjoy this info. Thanks
Thank you!
Always do a test recording, upload it to youtube and listen to it. Simple.
Can you list the links to the studies?
HI if you click on the nutrition facts link for each section then you will be able to access the cited sources.
I get joint pain from wheat.
Sound is so over modulated I had to stop listening.
I had the volume down as low as it would go and I could still hear (which is pretty low), and I still found it annoying as h#ll.
Came here to say that the gain staging is horrible. I’m glad I’m not alone. Love the info, but holy hell the audio engineer in me is screaming
maybe you just got to handle that pole right, but idk! Hey!
