look at the board after queen sacrifice. what a beautiful position. Both black queen and black Knight sit there helplessly watching their king get checkmated.
These videos of Tal games are my favorites, I think they improve my game the most. Not that I can calculate like Tal but I look for moves that I would not have considered in the past. Thank you Mato. And I did hit the like button.
Dear Mato, I think this is the best Tal game on your YT channel so far, because it clearly shows how deadly a truly powerful chess player can be when the pieces of his opponent are under-developped (Tal had a bishop pair and his rooks were connected and positioned on central files). Tal's games are impressing, I just can't help thinking that Tal already knew that he had a winning position when he sacrificed the knight.
A brilliant mind. He plays chess like anybody else, and he style of life that make him not a constant competitor was what make him who he is. I admire him all the way. One of the greatest and is not underrated. He earn his place.
Hello, sir.. If it poses no big deal, please record at a higher sound level so I may hear you better (I am maxed out). Some of your videos are louder and so much easier to hear. I really enjoy your vids, thank you very kindly!
I wish all top 10 we have in the world now would have the same desire to win... Very precise, absolutely killing tactics, strong combinatorial.... style...
+MatoJelic Mato if you have the game from the final of the competition that you won in Australia, which eventually got you back into chess, can you please post it? Or other games? Would love to see you play more :D
OMG I WAS BLOWN AWAY. For some dumb reason, I thought that bishop would attack knight to get out of queen fork.. but instead Tal used the knight as a pin to his advantage! wow. i need to pay more attention.
Absolutely Right! my mistake, definitely Qxc4 losing for black, but I was thinking if after 21. Qe5 black goes Qb4 to maintain the diagonal, then is forced mate: 22. Bxe6+ Bxe6 23. Qxe6+ Kh8 24. Rxa8 Rxa8 25. Pe8Q+ Rxe8 26. Qxe8+ Qf8 27. Qf8#
I thought of this variation a lot even before I read you comments and it seems that there is a way out for Black. Two possible continuations I found: 1) If "bxe6 bxe6 qxe6 - Check" - then King to h8 (Black), Rook to f8 - Check (White), e8 Rook takes f8 Rook (Black), d8 Rook takes f8 Rook - Check (White), a8 Rook takes f8 Rook (Black), e7 Pawn takes f8 Rook - Check (White), Queen takes f8 (Black). Then white is left with e6 Queen and g5 Bishop against Black Knight and Queen which is placed ideally threatening to checkmate on f1 and White have to defend. I can imagine that if White starts with "Qxe6 ch Bxe6 Bxe6 ch" it will even be worse as at the end White would have 2 Bishops against Queen and Knight and he will surely loose. 2) If "bxe6" and instead of recapturing Black decides that his King should go to h8. Then again we have almost the same sequence and again White would not be able to checkmate. However, at the end white would have to play a saving move so that Knight would not capture his Queen because the Bishop on e6 prevents the Queen from getting into action immediately." I think I am not missing something but if I do than I would be happy if you help me figure it out.
Even todays supercomputers would not think as beautifully as this guy.. its like a master painter with his brush.. this is just so beautiful..!
Moral:
"If Tal offers you queen, you should just resign."
😁😁😁
most beautiful game ive ever seen in my life!
+snowdevil122 which one?
+That Feel Tha game should call "The Queen teleportation"
Most beautiful thing I've ever seen myself😱
If Tal was sacrificing more then one piece in continuation,it means you'r done and resign gracefully without bothering about continuation.
Tal is so great that I wouldn't mind if you covered every game played by him
TheBeastHole hey please share the link of Mato for that match, please if you know Mato's commentary of that match
kurzackd please share the link of that match with Mato's commentary if Mato uploaded thay match i am very curious!
I'm just stoked by Tal. What unrelentless and unbiased hatred towards the opponents king!
This was honestly one of the most amazing games I have seen, and made even better by expert commentary, thanks Mato!
My fav player of all time. Genius on the board. 😊😊😊
When it's a Tal's game, I first like the video AND THEN I watch the video!
Trying to play Scandinavian defence against Tal is like poking a hungry lion with a stick.
Playing the Qd8 variation of the Scandinavian against Tal is like poking ten hungry lions with a stick.
Might I add, in his cage.
Opening looks fine to me. He found some brilliant tactics in the middlegame

i am at times infuriated how good of an attacker tal was. brilliant.

Wow I didn't even notice that the knight was pinned on e6,, what a brilliant game !
That was the whole point of sacrificing the first knight to pin black's knight
incredible attack! thanks Mato.
Tal is simply brilliant. My favourite player
One of the most powerful attacks I've ever seen. Brutal!
Tal is the Mike Tyson of chess!
Actually a Lionel Messi

absolutely brilliant!
The Queen sacrifice - it`s something wonderful and unusual. I really was astonished by this move. Thanks, Mato.
I always heard you must sacrifice everything to be the chess player...I didn't know they meant this.
A brilliant mind. He plays chess like anybody else, and he style of life that make him not a constant competitor was what make him who he is. I admire him all the way. One of the greatest and is not underrated. He earn his place.
Yield of a Complex Mind...... really stunnin!!
this is art
Great game. I enjoy watching games from Tal.
Incredible !!! What vision by the greatest attacking player in the history of the game...

This is really top level mating strategy. I'm so impressed.

WOW!!!
Tal is simply amazing to watch.
hi, this is john, SIGNATURE MOVES BY TAL, GREAT MATO
This is one of the most beautiful tal games ever =)
Brilliant game!
FANTASTIK IMAGINATION
OMG I WAS BLOWN AWAY. For some dumb reason, I thought that bishop would attack knight to get out of queen fork.. but instead Tal used the knight as a pin to his advantage! wow. i need to pay more attention.
Extraordinary game!!
Amazing!
This one had me holding my head, honestly.
i saw the initial knight sacrifice. but the final queen sac was absolutely brilliant
sensational play by Tal, Tal must be still enjoying this game
Why Chandler exchange Queen instead of QxBc4?
After Qe4 why not black reply with Qc4? I’m sure I’m missing something here…
I like it when Mato says:"This is how Tal defends the pawn." Of course, Tal ignores the threat by playing a knight sacrifice. Very funny!
Thanks Mato. Tal was awesome.
Brilliant! Hard to guess Tal's moves
in 5:55 why black Queen dont take bishop?
+Rafał Sadlak I have the same question. I can't see a good continuation for white.
+Thibaud Robert In fact same thing, Qxe6 and the chessmate is the same
Brilliant game.
When Tal sacrifice the queen, i think: "it's not a good idea take that queen".. What a talent had Tal!
beautiful and amazing chess game.
Tal is something else... :-O
There was 3 shocking moves but the last one, queen sacrifice, was the most shocking of all......if someone played that move against me I would faint.
What a brilliant game.
Insane. Holy smokes!
Wha...?? Whoa...?? Wow. No wonder it takes great chess engines to refute Tal's sacrifices and sometimes even they fall short.
this is the best chess game I have ever seen
Fantastic game, very complex middlegame
play like this gives me the image of breaking that one thread, one suture and the entire garment unravels.....
tal era un genio......hay que sacarse la galera ante este gran maestro....maestro eterno!!
Qué movimientos tan geniales hacía el Gran Tal
Tal was like a clairvoyant on the chess board !!
Brilliant attack 👌
Mind blown again by tal,I think I need a cup of tea after that.
This is probably the best game ever
4.17' Chandler should not take Tal's queen but bishop that pin the knight intead
Lalu Dasmara Tal would’ve lost the game with this move
Tha game should call "The Queen teleportation"
Tal was not just an excellent chess player - he was an assassin!
was aking the bishop also losing im not good enough to work it out
5:47, if Black goes Qxc4, isn't Tal just losing?
Oh Qxe6+ followed by Rf8+ is close to mate
I think, after Qc4 by black, white crashes through by first Bxe6+ followed by Qxe6+, then Rxa8 and back rank problem will happen!
If White goes Qxc4, Black cannot Bxe6+ (he lost the Bishop ==')
Absolutely Right! my mistake, definitely Qxc4 losing for black, but I was thinking if after 21. Qe5 black goes Qb4 to maintain the diagonal, then is forced mate: 22. Bxe6+ Bxe6 23. Qxe6+ Kh8 24. Rxa8 Rxa8
25. Pe8Q+ Rxe8 26. Qxe8+ Qf8 27. Qf8#
White(w) and Black(b):
bQxc4 - wQxe6+ - bQxe6 - wRf8+ - bRxf8 - wexf8=Q#.
TAL is the best ..
i can't believe his moves .. it's something from another dimension ..
verry beautifull play
amazing, just amazing
Jaw dropping genius.
Brilliant
I think Tal's line of thinking is better than our modern computer chess programs!
Hahaha. Poor fellow. Tal. What can be said? Bloody genius.
Amazing
Great game of Great Tal
Why not bxe6 bxe6 qxe6 Check?
Or even Qxe6 ch Bxe6 Bxe6 ch. I think mate is unavoidable either way, though I could be missing something.
I thought of this variation a lot even before I read you comments and it seems that there is a way out for Black. Two possible continuations I found:
1) If "bxe6 bxe6 qxe6 - Check"
- then King to h8 (Black), Rook to f8 - Check (White), e8 Rook takes f8 Rook (Black), d8 Rook takes f8 Rook - Check (White), a8 Rook takes f8 Rook (Black), e7 Pawn takes f8 Rook - Check (White), Queen takes f8 (Black). Then white is left with e6 Queen and g5 Bishop against Black Knight and Queen which is placed ideally threatening to checkmate on f1 and White have to defend.

Who are the 22 psychos who gave this a thumbs down ??? Great piece coordination, reminded me of Paul Morphy and Capablanca
What a game!
