    Answer to Puzzle:
    1. Queen to g4, check
    2. Bishop takes queen at g4
    3. Rook takes pawn at h6, check
    4. Pawn takes Rook at h6
    5. Bishop to f7, CHECKMATE.

    Solution to the puzzle:
    1) Qg4+
    A stunning Queen sacrifice
    Idea is to block g4 square as you will see later and to free a2-g8 diagonal
    Bxg4 (only possible moves)
    2) Rxh6+
    A stunning rook sacrifice
    Idea is to open e8-h5 diagonal
    gxh6 (only possible move as rook is protected by Bishop)
    3) Bf7#

    For white to win in every move white plays it should give black king a check or checkmate. Because If not blacks rook to A1 is checkmate.
    Now winning moves is
    1) sacrifice white Queen by moving to g4 only option is to capture by bishop.
    2) sacrifice rook by capturing h6 pawn g7 pawn will recapture it.
    3) move your white squared bishop to f7 and it's a sweet checkmate.

    • @kalyanlahiri7478

      Aman Goel it’s not smothered checkmate, smothered checkmate is a checkmate deliver only by knight, not other pieces, also smothered checkmate is when the king surrounded only by his own pieces that prevent him to run away, while in this case bishop on d2 prevent the king from going to g5 (the king can’t move to g5 because the enemy pieces is cutting of the way, not because his own pieces is there) so no, it’s not smothered checkmate, you can even search on google what smothered checkmate is if you still think it’s smothered checkmate

    White has the checkmate threat Qa1
    So the best move would be , pawn to c3 blocking the queens path. Of course the bishop is hanging but it doesn't matter. If the black bishop captures, then Q -g4 is checkmate. If the bishop doesn't capture and plays some other move then bishop to d1 is a b-e-a utiful checkmate.

    Just saw this video. Interesting problem at the end (Find the Best Move). The quiet move 1. c3, removing Black's mate threats and also threatening Bd1+, looks hard to answer. If 1... Bxb3, then 2. Qg4 mate. There doesn't seem to be a good way for Black to defend the g4 square.

    • @italixgaming915
      @italixgaming915 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I came to the same conclusion. We can also see that Ra1+ doesn't work because of Kb2 (and no more "not silly" checks). Qf5 runs into Rxe6 and a forced mate. And if Qg3 we have Bd1+ Qg4 Rxg4 (not Bxg4+ because of Kxg6 and Black can't take back with the bishop because of Qxg4#) with the threat of Rxg7# and no defence works, they all lead to other forced mates. See my comment for more details.

    I am Aayush Adhikari from Nepal.
    Answer for puzzle:
    White should push his pawn on C 2 to C3 ( Reason = Stopping the checkmate threat by black if he moves his rook on A 8 to A 1)
    This move also opens the diagonal for white bishop to place it on D 1 and give checkmate in next few moves i.e, white bishop to D 1 check
    Black blocks with bishop on E 6 to G 4 that is the only move possible .Now the white queen on G 2 captures the black bishop on G 4 . That would be a beautiful checkmate.
    After we move our pawn to C 3 , giving a check by black's rook on A 8 by bringing on A 1 isnt a good idea because after white king moves to B 2 , we are threatning to capture the rook and also threatning checkmate in same sequence discussed earlier after the rook moves.
    Getting back , after we move our pawn to C 3 , black bishop on E6 cant take the hanging white bishop on B3 because white queen to G 4 is a checkmate. White rook or queen also cant threaten to capture the hanging white bishop due to the checkmate threat discussed earlier i.e, bishop to D 1 and so on.
    Even if black moves his dark squared bishop somewhere to free up square , there will be a mate in next few moves i.e, white squared bishop to D 1 .Thats check. If black bishop blocks , white queen to G 4 is a mate. If ,Black king moves to H 4, white queen to H 1 is a checkmate.
    Getting back , the best move continuation for black is to move his queen to F 5 trying to cover the G 4 square by 2 pisces . After it moves, now white can give a check by placing light squared bishop to D 1 . Now black blocks with its queen by placing it on G 4 that is the only possible move.Now white can take the black queen by its bishop on D 1 by placing it on G 4. If black bishop on E 6 takes our bishop on G4 then white queen to G 4 is a checkmate. If black king takes our rook on G 6 , we can take his bishop on E 6 by white bishop on G 4 and give a discovered check by the queen on G 2. After the king moves on F 6 threatning to capture our bishop , we can capture his hanging rook on A 8 by our queen on G 2. Although white is down by a pawn, it is up by a queen. White can win this game easily from here .
    Hence , moving the pawn from C 2 to C 3 is the best move continuation for white as it prevents the checkmate by black and threatens to checkmate at the same time by the same sequence discussed earlier.
    You are free to post your doubts here , I will be glad to clear your doubts 😁
    Lots of love to Chess Talk and its viewers from Nepal❤

      When I was a kid I played my sister all the time. She told me I knew her game better than anyone and should be able to beat her, but she was the only one I had to play with. I made a new friend that played and invited him over. After beating him about three or four games in a row, I had an epiphany and turned to my sister and said "We are going to play three games, and I'm going to win all three". It was a great feeling, because she was right and I did know her game better than anyone. I can't remember if she ever beat me again.
      The great thing about chess is that the lessons learnt can be applied to all aspects of your life. It is also a good grounding for playing any game that requires strategy.

      That was my first thought too, but it won't work. The King will move to g6 instead of Bishop to g4 and you end up running around the board. By moving the Queen to g4 first the Bishop is forced to take it. Then taking h6 will work.

    5:58 Best move for white is moving c2 pawn to c3. Here's my reasoning, you're blocking the Black Queen at e5 from checkmating you at a1. This position is safe because your d2 bishop also protects the pawn in that position and it opens up space as it allows movement to or through c2.

    • @johnlucas2838
      @johnlucas2838 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      But if I do do that, then my b3 bishop is open to enemy bishop at e6 to be taken and so they do. And I feel like I don't have options going on from there...
      Instead of doing that how about trying moving d2 bishop to c3, then it forces the queen to act to which she can take c3 bishop putting my pawn and other bishop at risk. As well, it puts my king into a crossroad where the enemy rook still gets me. Moving left leads to checkmate, moving right leads to checkmate by a check later, the queen has the spaces to protect their rook. So it doesn't really work as it's basically giving away my bishop so it's a worthless move, delaying if not promoting the inevitable.
      Instead, how about moving my b3 bishop to take e6 bishop, then it would be defended by my g6 rook but it still leaves me open to check mate by enemy queen moving to a1. So it doesn't really work.
      Instead, how about moving white queen to f3 forcing the king into check, well if that happens then enemy king can take my rook at g6, as defending their king with their e6 bishop to g4 leads to checkmate my as my queen takes said bishop. But them taking my rook is most optimal so they take my rook at g6. I then take their rook at a8 with my queen. And then I don't know what move black does.
      The only other optimal move I can think of for white is literally having my queen taking black rook. Sure, I lose my rook in the process but they lose theirs, and if they try to move their queen into checkmating me, my queen will protect. I'm only capable of looking at future paths for like a turn or two when surmising blacks move in reaction to whites and vice versa. It's like trying to find the path to checkmate with both sides but also knowing how they're doing.

    • @johnlucas2838
      @johnlucas2838 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I see, I did watch the video and I did think the maneuvers see were a hint, my brain doesn't like the sacrificing play but if it forces a checkmate, I might have to start looking at possible checks that lead to checkmate from now on even if I lose pieces.

    • @johnlucas2838
      @johnlucas2838 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@satyajithalder6047 Actually the best move is to move g2 white queen to g4, putting black king into check, forcing e6 black bishop to take your queen as black king cannot take your queen due to your rook at g6. Then moving g6 white rook to h6 taking black pawn, putting the black king into check again, again the king cannot take your rook because your rook is being protected by your d2 white bishop thus forcing their g7 black pawn to take your rook. Finally you move your b3 white bishop to f7 putting their king into checkmate.
      Not only does these series of moves isolate the kings movements but it's ingenious because it does so as it forces black to play defensively throughout as they are forced to move in reaction to check to save their king, trapping themselves whether they like it or not.

    • @soulfire1935
      @soulfire1935 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@satyajithalder6047 it highly depends on the opponent, if black doesn't take bishop on b3.
      Better would be a to sacrifice of queen to g4, king can't take it cuz queen is backed up by our rook and king can't take rook at the moment so the only possoble move to save checkmate is black's bishop to g4 , next move would be by white is rook to h6 (rook sacrifice) black only option is to take by pawn cuz king can't take it cuz protected by bishop. In the end king has 4/5 his sides blocked by pieces. h6 blocked by black pawn that just took our rook, g5 blocked by our bishop, g4 blocked by black's bishop, and h4 blocked by black's bishop. Thus, white's light block bishop move to f7 to make a awesome checkmate!!

  • @YB00_SEVEN

    Great video! Puzzle answer: white pawn to c3, none of black’s move can stop checkmate by white.. if black moves his/her rook to a1 white moves king to b2 forcing black’s rook away. If black moves queen toe4 or f5 this wont stop white bishop’s check frm d1. From there it’s black bishop to g4 taken by white rook in the end the black queen is taken by the white queen from checkmate on g4.

      There is another move that you didn't analyse: Qg3. It leads to Bd1+ Qg4 and here White plays Rxg4. Black can't take back with the bishop because of Qxg4# and all the defences against Rxg7# run into other forced mates.
