At 49 yrs young, I just ran my first full marathon with sky Paris finished in 3.42.The shoes weight helped so much in the last miles, if I had hoka X1 on I don't think I would get 3.42. Have a good nap Princess.
I used mine for two 30k and a full marathon race and they worked great. I ran 3h39 to give an idea of the pace. They were comfortable until the end, not the slightest issue or discomfort. And so light! Certainly the best race shoe I ever had so far
I love the Edge Paris and got my PR in a 5K with it. I also have the Sky Paris and Cielo X1 and can’t decide which to use for my first half marathon. Leaning towards the Hoka.
I haven't tried the Edge, but I just ran a 2.47 Marathon (PR) with the Sky Paris. Such fantastic shoes. I think the Edge could be more fit for me, though, because I tend to increase my cadence at a fast pace. Best of all, my legs felt relatively fresh after an all-out marathon.
Thanks for the review - in Australia there’s big discounts (~$100) for the Plus versions - should I take that offer? What are the main differences with the older models?
These are beyond unstable it’s wild to me that no one is talking about the stability. I guess these shoes aren’t intended to be stable but other marathon shoes are far more stable. This would be great for a 5k or 2 mile if your really up on your toes but if you need any mid foot stability I would look elsewhere
What do you think about this vs the superblast? Obviously different shoes altogether. But just curious on your take between the two. I've seen some people on here say if they had a choice other than superblast for a marathon they would choose something else, but if they had to use the superblast it wouldn't bother them at all.
The ultimate would be to do long run workouts in both and decide which felt best for you. Everyone is going to be a little different. If you had to pull our arms most of us would probably lean Vaporfly for the distance, but that doesn’t mean it’s the right pick for your preferences.
Thanks Matt. Does the Edge have any of that mushy feeling found in the Nimbus and Novablast? I found those shoes way too soft even though everyone else seems to love them. I assume the plate must firm up the Edge quite a bit
Interesting review. But if i can marginally handle the Vaporfly Next % for the marathon (felt a bit of soreness in left ankle at 18, but pushed on without lingering damage) would the Edge work?
I absolutely love this shoe but it's unfortunately not for me. I destroyed my 10k PB (it is that fast) in a half marathon on it and it destroyed my ankle. Narrow heel is a problem for mortal runners, not to mention wide feet ones. While every reviewer is awed by the Paris series, many of them wouldn't recommend it for a full marathon. Which begs the question: how is this a successful shoe if cannot go the full distance of what is designed for?
All of the most beloved shoes share this trait.. The vaporfly heel is super narrow aswell. Alphafly 1 has a super wide heel but i feel that shoe is for forefoot strikers only, if you dont want minus 12 mm drop lol. That foam is the squishiest iteration of zoomX
Although I loved the first versions of the Sky, I got put off buying any new versions because of how different the Sky plus was in terms of my foot rolling dramatically inwards as I ran in them. My foot felt like it was hanging off the side in the Sky plus but I never got that feeling in either the Sky or the edge first versions. If the Paris versions were like the first version I would definitely get a pair as I know I can run in them. If they are like the Sky plus I don’t think it’s worth me getting them.
Please stop putting the kid in the video. It is so crinch and it takes the attention away from the shoes. I find myself skipping your videos when I see you standing there with a kid in front of you.
Matt being a full time professor, researcher, PT, and parent, often the only times he has available to do videos is while he’s also caring for his daughter. If it is the best fit time-wise for Matt, we’re 100% supportive of that. Thanks for your time and we hope some of our other content works for you alternatively.

Nailed it. I feel the same way about HM and down. Best at higher cadence paces.
same, feel more stable & supported with my AP3s for marathons.
5.04 mile with the stroller!! Respect
Hope the princess did not wake up. :) she's lovely.
NOw i want to try Edge Paris. Thanks
Sold out 😐 Still. Hopefully get my hands on those this summer.
i try both but buy Sky
What I have found is that if you have a more narrow foot Metaspeeds tend to be better then most race shoes for 10Ks to Marathons.

Better get the Paris versions. Waaaay better than the plus’

Matt, you speak here about your preference for the Alphafly 3 for the marathon, but what about the Alphafly 3 vs Endorphin Elite?
Like you I loved the Edge + used it for 2 Half's so far. How do they compare? or do they compare? Thanks!

I have a marathon coming up in 3 weeks and trying to figure out if I should run in Paris Edge or Vaporfly 3???? Love them both
Halfmarathon shoes

Edge paris is way more comfortable than the VF.
Thanks Matt. Does the Edge have any of that mushy feeling found in the Nimbus and Novablast? I found those shoes way too soft even though everyone else seems to love them. I assume the plate must firm up the Edge quite a bit
No not just because of the plate but the foam is denser.
I’m definitely a mid foot stricter and usually have a cadence of 163 166 this or the sky

I would not say
Is the sen 9/10 still better for turns and gravel/grass? I need to get a shoe for that because my courses have a lot more right turns
*tight turns
would you choose this over vaporfly 3?
Between the Sky and eht Edge, which of these shoes closely resembles the ride of the Endorphin Pro 3?
Edge Paris is closer, but still different!
@@DoctorsofRunning Thank you so much!
Neither

Depends on the user. For the marathon, this is going to be geared toward elite runners and those with stable mechanics
All of the most beloved shoes share this trait..

Is this most similar to endorphin pro 3?
Would this shoe work for fast walking outside and on treadmills?
Treadmill workouts might be fine, but we do not recommend for walking
i just bought Edge Paris..
is the video looking too bright to anyone else too?
Yes 👍🏻
