I just bought this exact model and color, but a 2016.. The car is EXACTLY the same. Interior, exterior, features... 100% exactly the same layout... I'm so confused as to what differentiates this newer model from the older one. Maybe a better engine? Anyway, i got the car for $16.3k with 14k miles, so it felt like a steal...
That's a great deal, Kenneth! And you are correct, there is only one thing that has changed on the Civic and that is the year of the car. It is exactly the same. Whenever Honda comes out with a brand new body style, they typically keep it exactly the same for 3 years. So for the Civic, 2016, 2017 and 2018. They then give some slight façade and technology changes for the fourth year and keep that the same for the fifth (2019 and 2020).
deadpenguinss, I am glad that I could help. I certainly don't ever fault a good Honda Certified Preowned Purchase. With the additional warranty and the 182 point inspection under Honda's strict guidelines makes it a serious contender and good choice as well.
If you got the EX but not the EX with Honda Sensing, then you would not have those features. Plus it is not just one button. There are several buttons to switch on and off the separate features.
Hi Jeremy, I plan on purchasing this car in the next 2-3 months or so, and I had a few questions I hope you could genuinely answer for me. Here are a few questions that I had about the car and would love to get an answer for them before purchasing the car. This will be my first ever car :). 1. What color is easiest to maintain and still looks good? As of right now I am deciding between the white and the metallic gray. 2. How is the visibility on this car and also how does the backup camera work; like the lines on the screen, what do they mean exactly, this will be my first car with a camera, so I am unfamiliar with how the backup lines work. 3. Are the seats comfortable and easy to clean? 4. Which trim option should I get between the LX and EX models? 5. Most importantly, would you say this car is reliable, affordable, and fun to drive; a car that is great for a first car and teen driver? 6. What price should I be paying for an LX and an EX? Thank you so much! Hoping to hear from you soon.
William, 1. Silver is the easiest to keep looking clean. Out of your choices of white and metallic grey, the grey will hide dirt the best. White looks amazing when clean but gets to looking dirty much faster and more often. 2. The visibility is really pretty good. The back up camera turns on when you put it in reverse and the lines don't really have specific values to them, however you can definitely see the vehicle behind you and your bumper, just make sure they don't meet in the camera and you are good! ; ) 3. The seats are comfortable, however it's not a high end vehicle so they aren't plush. They are made with a very tight knit fabric in a material that doesn't absorb liquids quickly. Allowing for a fairly easy clean. 4. The LX is less money, however with the incredible amount of features jam packed into the EX, it certainly makes for the better value. 5. Honda's are most definitely incredibly reliable. Being around $20k its certainly affordable and right now there is 0.9% and 1.9% financing available which makes it even better. I love driving the Civic. With it's dampers/suspension and tight steering it is so much fun. It hugs curves nicely and drives smooth. 6. I am assuming that you are wanting an automatic transmission, 2018, 2.0 Liter and not including Honda Sensing. If that is true, MSRP is 20,530 on a LX and 22,130 on an EX. Invoice, what we pay, is 19,147 on a LX and 20,628 on an EX. Now dealerships are in business to make at least a little bit of money, lol, so if you can find a dealership that will get as close as they can to the invoice, then you are doing pretty well. I would be more than happy to assist you if you live close enough to make the drive. Let me know what you decide.
I live around that area and i need a new car. Might as well go there to check it out. But dont know what color to get. I really dont like the black color. I like the lunar silver but idk which color is the best. can someone help me. #colorblind
The 1.5 Turbo gets 1 MPG better than the 2.0. However the 2.0 is less expensive. It honestly has to do with the other features that you prefer to make sure that you have on your vehicle because the engines are tied to the trim levels. So if you want leather seats, you are going to get the 1.5 turbo and the better fuel economy.
Berg the 89th the 2.0 is better for commuter highway, not in the sense of fuel economy though, but commuter highway can be a bit much on a 1.5, or so I read online. 2.0 would have more power for highway commuter.
Maybe you don't, but there are others who are looking for a good vehicle specialist to work with as they buy a new vehicle. They would like to know my name.
Sounds like you have had some pretty bad experiences with sales people in the past. That is too bad. Buying a car really should not be a bad experience but so many can easily make it awful. Hopefully you can find a good solid person that you can trust to buy cars from, that treats you with respect and honesty.
Just got one so happy 😁🙏
just got my blue 2018 Civic today and I LOVE it
Awesome! I am excited for you! Is it the Aegean Blue or the darker Cosmic Blue? What trim level did you get?
I just got it in sonic grey... I love it!
That's awesome Nelson! Such a great color! So you got the hatchback! What trim level did you get?
I got the ex. It comes loaded at a low trim, so it was a great bargain.
That's awesome! What are some of the features you like best about your new Civic?
Well done!!! I’m going to get one in a few days!
Thank you Jack, I am glad that it helps. Are you getting this trim and color?
Bought my first Honda Civic Ex in Aegean Blue and I am obsessed with it! Lol
Awesome! Thank you for Sharing! Have you tried the smartphone functions? Did you know that you can change the skin/design of your touch screen?
Just got this same exact model. I’m so excited! It’s sooo beautiful and definitely an upgrade from Corolla S 2015.
That's awesome! What are some of the features that you like best and make it better than your Corolla?

Jeremy Rees Thanks for the clarification. I feel even better about my purchase knowing this!

Beautiful 2018 Honda Civic EX
Yes! It really is!
I came to learn about the civic. Then he said Muncie and I immediately smiled and thought 'Parks and Recreation'.
LOL you right
I have mine 8 months ago Really nice car 🚘
Thank you for responding. Nice to hear from satisfied owners.
Just pick my car up today , however I don’t see any button for the sensing. I do have the ex model
If you got the EX but not the EX with Honda Sensing, then you would not have those features. Plus it is not just one button. There are several buttons to switch on and off the separate features.
Ha. Women never check the important car details. I bet she only checked the visor mirrors for her makeup application 🤣🤣🤣
I got darker Cosmic Blue love it too
Awesome!!! That is such a great color! Good choice!
Is the transmission automatic or cvt
I just purchased a 2018 Honda Civic EX and love it. I had a 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid and there is no comparison, the 2018 drives much better.
So true! They have made these so much better!
does it automatically win in case of an emergency?

you know u can make all the windows roll down with the fob press unlock twice then hold the button and magic happens
Yes. And put the key in the door turning it twice, holding it the second time will roll them all back up.
I live around that area and i need a new car. Might as well go there to check it out. But dont know what color to get. I really dont like the black color. I like the lunar silver but idk which color is the best. can someone help me. #colorblind
If you haven't bought already, the silver does keep cleaner looking than other colors
is this the basic version?
No. This is the second level of the Civic Sedan lineup.
No base is the LX
8:25 check out this 2008 model 😂😂
LOL, I know. I didn't catch that until after I had posted it. Good catch.
What’s the total price for the car including taxes?
Are you from Indiana? Taxes are different from State to State. Dealer and BMV fees are different as well.
This is a steal
What engine would be better if you drive to and from work almost 20 miles everyday, the 1.5 or 2.0?
The 1.5 Turbo gets 1 MPG better than the 2.0. However the 2.0 is less expensive. It honestly has to do with the other features that you prefer to make sure that you have on your vehicle because the engines are tied to the trim levels. So if you want leather seats, you are going to get the 1.5 turbo and the better fuel economy.
Jeremy Rees Are the seats real leather or synthetic leather?
My understanding is that it is real leather. I haven't seen any fine print to say otherwise.
So there isn’t much difference? Other than MPG and more features on the turbo?
Berg the 89th the 2.0 is better for commuter highway, not in the sense of fuel economy though, but commuter highway can be a bit much on a 1.5, or so I read online. 2.0 would have more power for highway commuter.
This the car i swerve in
This might be my next car. Depending how much my settlement is.
Awesome! But are you getting a settlement due to an accident?
lift that rubber mat in the console turn it over hidden egg
Spoiler Alert!!! LOL
dont need to know your name dude
Maybe you don't, but there are others who are looking for a good vehicle specialist to work with as they buy a new vehicle. They would like to know my name.
sales people are the worst
