More About MG Sreekumar
He was born in Haripad in the district of Alappuzha, as the son of Malabar Gopalan Nair, a well-known singer of his times. He was brought to the film industry by his elder brother and music director late M. G. Radhakrishnan, one of the most revered personalities in Malayalam music industry. M. G. Sreekumar rose as a renowned playback singer and music director singing in five languages including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi (Bollywood). However he is best known for his contribution to the Malayalam film industry and especially for his voice that resembles to the voice of Mollywood Superstar Mohanlal. He has bagged the National Award for Best Playback Singer twice and Kerala State Award thrice. He is the youngest brother of music director M. G. Radhakrishnan and singer K. Omanakutty. He runs a music company named KMG Musics. He is married to Lekha Sreekumar.

National Film Awards: M G Sreekumar won two national awards. The first one in 1990 for perfecting the Song Nadha Roopini.. in the Mohanlal starrer film His Highness Abdullah. His second national award was for the song 'Chanthu Pottum...' from the movie Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njanum directed by Vinayan.
Kerala State Film Awards: M G Sreekumar won Kerala State Film Awards in Best Playback Singer category three times. The first one was for the song Kanneer Poovinte Kavilil Thalodi from Mohanlal's evergreen hit movie 'Kireedam', "Mayamayooram Peeliveeshiyo" from the Srinivasan-hit Vadakkunokkiyantram. He won his second Best Male Playback Singer in 1991, a year after he received his first national award, for the song Aathiravaravayi in the movie Kilukkam - one of the top hits by Mohanlal - Jagathy Sreekumar - Revathy trios. He was also awarded the Best Playback Singer in the year 1992 for giving voice in a number of films.
