    Here is what you'll need!
    Collapsible Outdoor Car Awning
    SUPPLIES
    2 10’x ¾” EMT conduit
2 1” clevis slide top cap unit
    4 adjustable tent poles
    Washer
    Self-tapping metal screws
    8’x6’heavy duty tarp
    4-6 Rubber wire ties
2 suitcase buckles (or any straps for keeping the awning rolled up)
    6-10 velcro straps
    * Car must have roof racks
    INSTRUCTIONS
Depending on the size of your tarp add 10 inches to the longer side of your tarp, and that will be the length of the EMT conduits. (In this video I used an 8’x6’ tarp so the poles were measured at 8’10”.)
Take one pole and mark at 2 inches from the end. Then rotate 90 degrees and mark at 4 inches from the end. Repeat on other side then drill through the conduit.
Take the other pole and attach the clevis slide top cap unit at the 2-inch mark. Tighten the bolts onto the pole with an allen wrench. Repeat on other side.
Take off the stoppers of the tent pole and place the bottom of the tent pole into the clevis side top cap unit. Tighten the bolts with an allen wrench. Repeat on other side.
Lay the longer side of the tarp on the pole from line 3. The tarp will be 5 inches from the end.
Take the washer and self tapping metal screws and drill into the conduit through the grommets on the tarp.
Screw the other end of the tarp to the other EMT conduit from (1.)
Roll up the car awning and take it out to your car.
Using the rubber wire ties, attach the poles with the tent poles attached to it onto the roof rack. For a permanent placement, you can use a U-clamp and screw it directly into your roof rack.
Line the other 2 tent poles that are not attached by the other pole and roll up towards the car. Everything will be rolled up together and tightly secure the car awning to avoid it from unraveling.
    The set-up:
    Unravel the tarp.
Fold out the tent poles and poke through the drilled holes in the other conduit.
Thread through some velcro straps through the adjacent grommets. This will keep the tarp nice and straight.
Pull out the tent pole until the tarp is taught.
Take the loose tent poles and poke through the other holes on the conduit.
Adjust the poles to a desired height.
If it is windy, attach lines to the outer pole and push into the ground. If you are on asphalt then attack a weight to the line to weight down the awning.
