@@jasonstl636 Been thinking about the RS but they are like impossible to find in stock and honestly I find it hard to justify the price since I do like the heat shield in the stock handguard but we will see
I just put down a deposit on one of these rifles at my local shop (in Commiefornia). Your review has confirmed I am making the right choice on buying a Galil.
Thanks! That’s one thing I rarely see covered in a lot of things in general. Especially when talking about guns, and something that can really suck for us as lefties since some guns are really annoying for us.
The buffer pad is for running it with a can on but no adjustable piston. The rifle before the KNS piston install, it’s already over gassed (like most AK’s) to make sure it runs in all temperatures and environments. Also changing for an ALG is not a pain if you know what you’re doing. It’s just like dropping it into a standard AKM receiver. It’s just getting the thumb safety lever back in spot is the “problem” which is usually because people aren’t used to this system
I haven't heard that about the buffer before, that does seem very plausible a clearly the don't wear much. I have heard from some who change out for an ALG it is a bit more painful than a standard AK. I think it was one TH-camr who said it took a bit much to get it in.
@@zacharybatten I’ve watched a few different videos about the ALG and the guy said the first time you drop on in, yah it sucks but after that you get the hang of it and it works. Klayco47 put one in and I think I remember him saying it wasn’t really worse than putting one in an AK. They do just take time to make sure the roll pin is filed correctly and fitted right. But I mean everyone has their own experience too
the iron sights are actually notably good. I have mine setup so that i can use either the irons or MRO as needed. The mounting block is holo. Anyway, My favorite rifle ever. I've had 3 of them so far.
I chose the CZ bren over this in 556 but this is far superior in 762x39 and I want one really really bad like I have to buy one as soon as I can. I think it's awesome it didn't get so hot you need gloves. I think this is the best AK you can get. I also want one in 308 just as bad not sure if I will buy x39 or 308 first. Awesome review I just subscribed to your channel
Thank you! Yeah that’s one reason I haven’t changed out the hand guard and I’m kinda sad about the Gen 2 not having it. But good choice as I’ve heard the bren 2 7.62x39 has been having issues.
@@henryventura2639 I think they’re also making a 13 inch barrel Gen 2 version. I’m not sure if that’s just for 5.56 or 5.45 but that would be interesting too.
I think from the factory, they put a silicon based adhesive in the grooves where the stock attaches to the receiver. You can take apart and redo that. It might not have been applied well originally.
@@zacharybatten, from what I've read, the silicon acts like more of a filler than a real adhesive. They might not have put enough in there to really fill the gap.
Nice review. I enjoyed all the details. Would love one of these in 5.45. I run my Vepr suppressed all the time, but it is very heavy as well. AK's just aren't the best suppressor hosts anyway, but I love how they shoot with subsonic ammo.
I want to test it out with subsonic ammo but the price is a bit too high for what I’d be willing to pay. I doubt the benefits really justify the price to me personally, but I could be wrong
@@trunkmonkey56 That's the one thing that has been keeping me from getting into 300. My suppressor is basically made for that caliber and shorter barrels.
Perhaps I missed your reasoning, but why don’t you recommend suppressing it? With the KNS piston it should cycle just fine. Was it the weight that you didn’t like?
Pretty much, the gun already weighs a lot, I believe around 8 pounds. Adding an eotech, mag, and a suppressor adds enough weight that it becomes a bit unwieldy. Also in general AKs do not suppress all that well in terms of sound suppression. Plus it can be hard finding the KNS piston.
Hi. Good sound on video. Recommend you add some 'B' role of you shooting the Ace to break up the single scene you have. Recommend shooting at 60 frames per second...that way you can play it at normal speed or slow it down for slow motion effect.
Actually I just noticed I record in 60 FPS but it isn't in 60 fps on here. If I am being honest I am kinda lazy with these as I didn't expect to get any real views on them.
Interestingly enough I had a Tula round on one of my last trips fail to fire after 2 strikes. There was a proper crater on the first strike so I am assuming that it was just a bad round. Can't recall ever having a Tula round do that before but it's not too surprising. I think that having the spring loaded firing pin is good for preventing light strikes and I have not heard of any issues with them so far. I am at about 2000+ rounds now for what it is worth.
the gun will not run reliably if I adjust the KNS piston unsuppressed, I have heard you can tone the gas down on the 8 inch barreled guns with it though
@@vepraksoldat2963 True but personally I would rather go with those Bulgarian commercial polymer mags since they are a little more cheaper and aesthetically pleasing
You will need the KNS piston and put the setting to probably 30 clicks or more. From what everyone says the pistols are way overgassed and adding that suppressor will only increase it. But the chimera is a great suppressor in general.
Its way better than 2 moa with belom or barnual on mine. I have video on my page 200 yards in my backyard dead center of milk jug with iron sights first shot
The gun is not that heavy... i own the 8.3 inch barrel version with a dead air wolverine... jesus, some of these people are either weak asf or suspect.

My Galil ace has the same wiggle. When it was new it didn’t have the wiggle over time from unfolding the stock probably causes it to do that
