I had never heard of Ching Shih until just now. But dang, what a crazy and fascinating story. Despite all the cruel crimes she committed, Ching Shih sure as hell made sure no women on board her ship were ever harmed. And she did do a couple of other good things too. I had to laugh at how Ching Shih not only managed to keep the loot but died peacefully at 69 with her family all around her bed. She sure as hell got the last laugh!!! 😂😂😂 I mean, depending how much of this is true...
I had never heard of the other two in the description and only Ching Shih. You know some good content about those other two? Also: what movie are these scenes from?
Zheng Yi Sao (born Shi Yang; c. 1775-1844), also known as Shi Xianggu, Shek Yeung and Ching Shih, was a Chinese pirate leader active in the South China Sea from 1801 to 1810. (Wikipedia)
I don’t want to be that guy that highlights all the errors. So I’ll just point out the most glaring. She was nowhere near the most successful pirate in history, that title belongs to a pirate who built a cave system in the rocks, full of booby traps and filled with unimaginable wealth. Yes I’m referring to “One Eyed Willy”.

Very interesting. Where did the video come from?
I have not been able to locate the movie, although I see that it was made?
This is most interesting. Were there really that many pirates at the same time back then?
