It is not unusual for high school musicals to cast grade schoolers in the childrens roles. Hence the kids in this show. Best Harold Hill with the exception of Robert Preston. Magnificent production.
this school is amazing..my middle school is doing the music man and im playing marian and our director keeps telling us to watch your guy's videos because of how amazing they are!
I've been watching your Music Man uploads all night. Honestly, this is the best rendition I've seen. The group numbers (which are already difficult in any show, but the ones in The Music Man have some extreme level of difficulty) are spectacular. Everyone is in sync, harmonized, on pitch... phenomenal. Hill and Marion are possibly future Broadway actors (if they so choose), and both of them bring a smile to my face. Also, THE DANCES ARE SO GOOD. Shipoopi and 76 Trombones (these kids are amazing how do they all manage to go to one school?!) are perfect. Honestly, I want to go to this school if only for this drama program. Truthfully, my school has our first of three performances tomorrow, and I only wish it looked this good (although it's pretty great for our school. I'm excited) Anyways, thanks for sharing, it really brings a smile to my face to see such a breathtaking rendition of such an amazing show.
klaire k It is amazing, and I am doing a community theater version of the Music Man. It opens in like two weeks. (Btw I am playing Amaryllis ) I also wish that my school wouldn't do shows written by my music teacher, but they would actually do something like Music Man, Mary Poppins, Annie, Shrek, Beauty and the Beast, etc. Thank you for reading. :) Bye! (Broadway is my life. :D)
Hahaha same! We are also doing music man and i’m Zaneeta! I wish we where doing full version not jr. My director said half of the show was dancing and i understand now lol. This is such an amazing show i’m speechless. i would kill to see this let alone be apart of it. ✨small youtuber here✨
Hill was absolutely amazing! my college is doing Music Man this coming January, and I am playing Eulalie Mackecknie Shinn!! This is a PERFECT set of videos for me to watch, so thank you for uploading them! Such a talented cast, and i enjoyed watching!!
my little brother is doing play this play at his school, you know, music man junior? He is harold hill, just like me when i did this play 2 weeks ago,he been praticing 76 trombones the whole day,i just wish him good luck!
Was I the only one waiting for the twins to say 'come play with us.' JK. Brilliant, the costumes and set were amazing, the singing was on pitch which is rare in large choir songs, I could've have hoped for a little more Charisma from Harold Hill, but still wonderfully done for high school level.
HAHA we are doing this at my high school and whenever Harold says W.C. Handy, i think of M.C. Hammer :) this is fantastic though, the guy playing Harold at my school isn't even close to being as good as this one! :)
Seventy six trombones led the big parade With a hundred and ten cornets close at hand. They were followed by rows and rows of the finest virtuosos, the cream of ev'ry famous band. Seventy six trombones caught the morning sun, With a hundred and ten cornets right behind. There were more than a thousand reeds springing up like weeds, there were horns of ev'ry shape and kind. There were copper bottom tympani in horse platoons, thundering, thundering, all along the way. Double bell euphoniums and big bassoons, each bassoon having his big fat say. There were fifty mounted cannon in the battery, Thundering, thundering, louder than before. Clarinets of eve'ry size and trumpeters who'd improvise a full octave higher than the score. Seventy six trombones led the big parade, when the order to march rang out loud and clear. Starting off with a big bang bong on a Chinese gong, by a big bang bonger at the rear. Seventy six trombones hit the counter point, while a hundred and ten cornets played the air. Then I modestly took my place as the one and only bass, and I oompahed up and down the square.
I really love the way you guys did this! My school did this a couple weeks ago and as the trombone 1 in the pit, I know how great this scene is. It's really difficult to pull off this scene correctly. I hate to be "that guy", but what happened to the trombone solo in the ballet? I can understand if they decided to take it out, because I was super nervous playing it every run. It just kind of bothers me.
The girl in the lavender sweater and yellow skirt is about 25% better than any other dancer on stage. Sharp moves, great extension without overdoing it. I hope she went on to a career in dance.

Almost every time my high school does a musical they have middle and elementary schoolers....
My show is doing the same thing! All the people in it are high schoolers except for Winthrop Paroo, Gracie Shinn and Amaryllis
