i have a 1950 chevy with 235 6cyl its also been converted to 12 volt system ,,it has a ceramic ballast mounted on the firewall ,, now if i go to the electronic ignition and remove the breaker points ignition DO i unhook the wires from that ballast regulator or leave it hooked up ????? first time trying the pertronix
The ballast resistor will no longer be used because the upgraded ignition coil is internally resisted. I upgraded the ignition coil on ‘51 Chevy, too. I also have a 1962 truck 235 engine upgrade and 12V and alternator upgrade as well.
Simple fix.,but points work great and can be fixed on the road when needed.
We're did you get those parts I looked up Is classic parts of America but it's only for trucks
Classic Parts seems to no longer list these parts.

What gap did you set the spark plugs to?
Pertronix is now just over priced HEI is now the way to go. Unless you want it to look original.
