Another new song to me! Sounds fantastic Del! Amazing production! Your rhythm section is sounding tighter and better than ever! Thanks and Happy Holidays to you sir ~
Funnily enough, I was listening to a programme on Sounds just yesterday about the story behind some of our favourite festive songs and this was one of them. David Essex had asked Mike Batt to write him a Christmas song, and Mike Batt was inspired by a long distance love that seemed doomed, although in the end it ended happily and he ended up marrying her. I love this song too by the way, beautifully done Del 👍
I'd forgotten how damn good this song was, thanks for the reminder with this great production Del. A flying visit here before we head off again visiting more family, I'll be pleased when it's mid January ! All the best mate.
Excellent and professional sounding production, I stiil struggle ,but I lack the patience and only one working ear doesn't help !! I was only a fan of DE after the Silver Dream Racer film and his contribution to War of the Worlds album. But this song was one that I enjoyed as a yoof. Nicely done indeedy. Brillopads. I just noticed who the writers were. Would never have put the creator of the Wombles music and the lyricist for Evita together LOL
Thanks so much! Yes - Mike Batt has written loads of stuff for loads of people, but only ever seems to be remembered for the Wombles stuff - I wonder how he feels about that? :-)
What a lovely song. I am alone this Christmas but this song helps fulfill me somewhat. God Bless your Nan and Merry Xmas Del. ^_^

One of my favourites too! (And I don't think I have heard it this year until now. Must complain to somebody...)
Cheers, Steve! Please address all complaints to Mr T.Wilson… ;-)
I really dig that recorder. Nice arrangement, Del!
Thanks so much, Bruce! It’s a Carry-On Digital Wind Instrument - not too pricey and a lot of fun to play. :-)
@@DelGriffiths Cool. Del, have you heard from your old partner Lynda? I can't reach her and I'm concerned.
I spoke to her just a couple of weeks ago, Bruce - all is well! :-)
Really cool people don't care about what other people think is cool. I bet your nan was cool. And I know you are!
What a lovely thing to say - thanks so much , Chris! :-)
