Again buildings of landmark are not demolished, landmark as used his whole land, the coastline is for the government and landmark used 250m, government wants 50m back and you guys are crying, because of landmark and other businesses, the rail track and the 5 line will start at jakande instead, it's still only 4 lanes each there, plus our coastline shouldn't be commercialised, how many countries commercialises their coastline except us, beaches that used to be free o plus beaches should be free, imagine driving along the coastline, then chilling on the beach when tired without payment or weird stuffs

      here are the facts sir,
      1. Landmark beach need not be destroyed at all as the water corporation road which landmark is asking the FG govt to return to is undeveloped and is more cost effective for the government to use.
      2. it is totally unfair and unjust to want to take the livelihood of 12k people and add them to the over 10m employed youth when there is an alternative route. it's simply baffling. mind you after destroying the Landmark beach and taking away 12k jobs the road goes back to the water corporation road to protect many other ocean front properties further down the road.

@samuelbrownsonmfon9204 Please keep quiet and stop talking rubbish. Water operation road bla bla bla. If they take it through water operation road, then what makes it a coastal road. Wether you like it or not, 250m from the shore line belongs to the FG landmark has not right to be there. Deal with it. The coastal road is meant to employ more than 12,000 workers, bring in more foreign investments on the coast a d finally generate 600 trillion naira for the FG in 15 years. So F you and F landmark. Putting personal interest above national interest, who does that? Enemies of Nigeria.

I think they changed the alignment to pass through Landmark beach because it will enhance Eko Atlantic City. This is all for the road to run in front of the Eko Atlantic including the phase two of the city.@@samuelbrownsonmfon9204

The property is not being demolished...it is the beachfront that attracts people to the place where the road is passing the owner is afraid it will be taken away...he may not say it but that is the main attraction there. We have properties stretching over 47km in Lagos alone, but why crying fowl over a stretch not up to a kilometer. Anyway, the whole place belongs to FG and the minister has said they are not demolishing the place.

Rubbish, the beachfront is one of the few recreation spots for Lagosians. Imagine building a new coastal road when the existing road network is in dilapidated condition

@@sulaakGo and sit and stop talking rubbish. Trying to put personal interest above national interest. Who does that? In the first place the coastal road is meant to generate 600 trillion in 15 years, so the government t should abandon that huge investment because people go to land mark beach. You are a fooooollp for even thinking of this atall. Mallam mugu.

Nigerians from diaspora also invested hundreds of millions of dollars to purchase lands in these communities along the coastline now Federal Government suddenly claiming 250m from the shore for themselves.
This project has been planned for over 30yrs when Lagos state government approved excision was awarded to these communities. There was lands behind the communities still untouched allocated for the Coastal Highway.
100m was allocated behind the communities for this project and there is Extra 72m gap between the two for any extra rail construction.
Encroachment by federal government is illegal and outright land grabbing.
They should REVERT to original plan.
It's much easier and less expensive than demolishing and sand filling.
Also the compensation is fraudulent as most of the land approved for these communities fall between the 250m grabbed by Federal Government there by invalidating the people chances for compensation.
The longest road in Africa runs from Egypt to South Africa passing through 9countries over 10,000km and the road in Egypt was $1.6 billion while Nigeria 700km is costing 13billion
A project or avenue to loot?

@@MontwellProperties Which is more economic viable, the road from Lagos to Calabar or Landmark beach?
Remember no foreigner comes to Nigeria because of Landmark beach, the beach is just one of the sight attractions they want to have when they are in Nigeria. Not that they left their country because of a beach.
I believe landmark can give way for the general societal good.

I am sure these people knew lagos calabar highway was going to happen someday before they all started building properties on the path.Typical nigerian mentality, that very train track is where we want to walk on,that very car road is where we want to build houses.Anyways, landmark will not be demolished the road is going through the front, only the beach will be filled, reclaimed. They can just turn the building to an hotel, that area is still a profitable area for hotel business even without direct access to a beach.
