“I don’t have a Nigerian passport cause if I walk into any embassy I’ll be arrested” -David Hundeyin

  • He has been called the most feared journalist in Nigeria - and the price he has had to pay for that has been to flee his country, to live as a fugitive in several African countries since 2020 and to have no Nigerian pastor because he says he will be arrested if he visits any Nigerian embassy abroad.
But to what end? He called Bola Tinubu a drug baron, but he is still the president, Nasco is still in business, Flutterwave is winning awards, and Issa Patami is a free man. Has it all been worth it?
He says yes, even as he has to moved to the United Kingdom to, as he tells me exclusively, start a new chapter in his life as a ‘tech bro’.
In this exclusive interview, his first physical sit down on national television, he tells me why he has paid the price he has paid, what life is exile has been like, how he has survived financially, his new book and why he says that era of journalism for him has ended.

Chude, I love your channel but to ask if "being exiled worth it?" is a bizarre question. People are after this man's LIFE! Not his wealth, not his home, his LIFE something that is not replaceable. Why? Because he is exposing many evils that are happening globally with specific reference to Nigeria. There are several Nigerians who are not in Mr Hundeyin's predicament that are fleeing Nigeria in their droves, let alone him who has threats to his life. I wish him the best.

Who doesn't know this man received threats to his life ?
There is a reason why we don't have enough investigative journalists in this country . We see the work of Fisayo Soyombo on smuggling , has anything been done . David may have flaws but he is definitely good at his job .
For those asking of his sexual orientation . I can only assume your asking because your interested in him .
All i can say is we deserve the leaders we have in this country called Nigeria . As long as tribe and religion remain the main stay of what determines ho can take our country forward we will forever be a caricature of a state with so much unfulfilled potential .

This is the second time am listening to the story of his uncle who threatened him @ a family party in Badagry & trust me, the story match up . Line for line , word for word. For example some random chap building a house trying to create access to a main road for trucks to his site can accidentally cause a fibre cut. This was just sheer confidence abeg! Operator's lease fibre from themselves also, so a cut to one will usually affect many operators at the same time. I worked in the industry for 20yrs! Highly improbable that it was deliberate sabotage!
