    I bought a 2022 QX60 luxe six months ago. I love my QX60. I tested drive MDX as well. However, QX60 is more family oriented. It has 360 camera on Luxe which make parking so easy. If the primary driver is a female, I recommend QX60.

    I have the MDX A-Spec and I have gotten use to the trackpad. Where ever you place your finger on the pad. It will appear on the screen in the same location as the pad.
    Oh I also think the MDX looks better. It handles extremely well. In America the top MDX is called the MDX Type S Advanced

    • @TheBreakfastLover
      @TheBreakfastLover ปีที่แล้ว +12

      yeah, what many car reviewers fail to recognize is owners develop muscle memory using Acura's trackpad. Once you get past the 1-week or so learning curve, it's actually less distracting to use than a touch screen.

    • @Mikel0318
      @Mikel0318 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. I just picked up an Aspec last week, and the lack of a touch screen was a big factor for me at first, but after about 40 minutes of testing and watching a couple youtube videos, I felt that the system is very intuitive. However, I do wish they offered a touchscreen in addition to the TTP interface especially when using Android Auto. Again, not everyone will have the same degree of familiarity when it comes to technology....hence the argument of Apple (simplicity) vs Android (customization) crowds.

    • @Mike-lt6sj
      @Mike-lt6sj ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Mikel0318the technology portion of a vehicle isn't much of a consideration for a buyer like myself. The less, the better. A nice stereo system, interior quality, reliability, performance, looks, road noise are way more important than touch pads.

    • @Mikel0318
      @Mikel0318 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Mike many of today's cars will for better or worse continue to include more and more technology. The difference will be in the implementation. That said, everyone will have their own take and preferences.

      I would be okay with Acura’s True Touch Pad for the most part, but when you use Apple CarPlay, it’s completely different, CarPlay is designed for people to use touch screen in their car’s’ infotainment screen, but Acura doesn’t offer touch screen for Apple CarPlay is really annoying, if Acura just moves screens forward allows touch screen for CarPlay and Android auto, but keep touch pad for Acura system, I would be 100% okay with it.

    The QX60's presence really can't be captured on camera. The first time I saw one on the road in the exact color/spec you have in this video and I literally said "Damn" outloud. I wouldn't say 100k, but it definitely looks expensive. I also think they both have very nice interiors, but the MDX has WAY too much piano black plastic and looks too busy overall. The QX60 looks simple but still luxurious.

    Sam, another great review to compliment what is already one of the best automotive channels on the internet. Two very interesting competitors. Yes price is a real discussion point here, but factor in the superior powertrain of the MDX Type S, the Brembo brakes, SH-AWD with torque vectoring, Air Ride Suspension, 21" Wheels, 25 Speaker ELS Sound System, Front seat Massagers, this gap starts to make more sense. Get inside and drive the two back to back, from a sporty drive and engaging stand point the MDX is the clear winner, from a flat out usability and luxurious surrounding the Infiniti does a great job for the money. Thanks again for a great review.

    Both are good vehicles. If you are looking for something with a more luxurious exterior, then the QX60 is for you (except for that front grille that just doesn't compliment the overall design. They should rotate it upside down, where the grille base is narrower than the top. Visually, it would complete the really great Range Rover-esque look it has) If you are looking for something more sporty, then the MDX is it. Not only is the exterior sporty looking, but when you sit behind the wheel, it's like you are in a cockpit. THAT was what sold me. My wife and I left our house to go buy a QX60, but on the way, we stopped by the Acura dealership just to compare before we bought the QX60. When we sat behind the wheel, my wife and I looked at each other, and we instantly knew that that pretty Range Rover-esque look of the QX60 wouldn't end up in our driveway. Additionally, while both vehicles are roughly the same size, in test driving them, the MDX felt more like a sedan, not necessarily in ride softness but more so in handling, which was especially important to my wife. She was already worried about the size of the QX60, and then the MDX when she saw it from the outside. But when she drove it, she felt totally comfortable. We are now 6 week old MDX owners. Like, I said, both are nice, but sometimes it just boils down to what fits your personality and drive style. Finally, the touchpad is a total non issue. Ergonomically, it is perfectly located and a breeze to use. I don't get the hate people have, but to each his own...might be a left brain right brain kind of thing. However, I do agree that Acura SHOULD have also made it a touchscreen. From a business standpoint, it only makes sense. They are stubbornly bucking against the trend where people assume that anything touchscreen simply means its better. Acura doesn't understand that people tend to follow the crowd, and it simply becomes a snowball effect...a prominent reviewer says he doesn't like the touchpad and like a subliminal message people adopt that narrative without giving the touchpad a serious chance. This is not a fight Acura will win. They will cave...the snowball is gathering mass...but personally, I LOVE my touchpad. 😀

      The "Walk-Away Auto-Close" feature requires the remote key to be present with the user. Pressing the walkaway button engages the green "Standby" indicator. This leaves the tailgate in standby mode until the user walks away (Approx. 6 feet from the rear of the vehicle) and activates the tailgate to close handsfree. If the green light is not activated nothing is engaged. Side note, if you have the remote key in your pocket along side of a cellular phone, the frequency becomes hampered due the two sharing the same space.

    If you want the driving dynamics, go for the MDX. If you want the comfort and more pliant ride, go for the QX60. I'm just glad Infiniti changed the color of that garish chrome diffuser thingy to a darkened gray. Acura needs to update the UI in the MDX with something similar to what they already have in the Accord and at this price point, they should both have ventilated 2nd row seats.
    As it stands, I prefer the QX60 just on the UI interaction which is a deal breaker for me in the MDX with its position touchpad.

      I get where you're coming from. Body control with response to changing surfaces is better in the MDX, however the QX60 better manages poorer road surfaces with respect to NVH. Take a listen to Alex on Autos. He goes into detail in that regard.

    I was shopping both of these also, but ended up with the MDX Aspec. Ultimately, these two SUVs will cater to different crowds. In terms of driving dynamics, Acura is hands down much more refined and agile/fun to drive. While Infiniti is more soft and comfortable. Overall Interior, I would give a slight nudge to Infiniti for better luxury amenities with the exception of the touch console as well as better usable 3rd row space. However, I went with a red interior, which Infiniti can't come close to for someone looking for a "luxury sport" aesthetic. As far as technology, I was in the same boat as many before I actually sat in and purchased the MDX. I did not like the TTP, and almost put off my purchase completely until I tried it for myself. The system is very intuitive until it comes to using the TTP with Android Auto in which it functions more like a traditional mouse. It didn't take long for me to figure it out and I do very much prefer it now over the touch screen when not using Android Auto. For the exterior, I tried to like the Infiniti, but it comes off as a "mom-mobile". Whereas the MDX really took off. Every time I see one on the road, I always have to turn my head to get a 2nd glance. In short, get what you like and what works for your life style. Many of these reviews will be very subjective to the individual reviewer. My best word of advice is to go on multiple test drives. Sit in the cars and ask questions. There really isn't a better way to get a sense of which one is right for you.

      QX 60's new ZF 9 Speed has way too much delay and lag. Very slow to engage from reverse to drive, along with rolling stops on a right hand turn, the transmission has a difficult time down shifting fast enough for the take off. I looked at both MDX Type S and Infiniti QX60 2023.
    There are many points due to which I chose Infiniti..like
    Not having touchscreen, too many buttons near the dashboard, lack of luxurious material, no rear view camera etc etc…
    MDX does drive faster and smoother then Infinity but the car of this size are not for driving fast or racing.
    Acura is fast but any mid size sadan would easily be faster and nimble so speed is irrelevant here.
