    I'm in my 8th week at Springboard for UI/UX and it was very funny to see how similar our Capstone 1 projects are! Mine is also focused on financial literacy - but I leaned in more to paying off debt and learning about investment topics. I'm only starting to do sketches and stuff, but I can't wait to see this come to fruition in the end. I would love to talk about this one day on TH-cam since I really love this process so far.

    THIS WAS SOOOO COOL! Wow! So awesome seeing a young girl talking about this and being so excited to share. I'm currently just starting out on the Google UX design course and it is so awesome seeing you walk through your portfolio to see how your ideas translate to reality. Could you do more videos on your individual projects during your bootcamp, talking about your thought process coming up with the concept, the ideas, iterating throughout the journey, etc.? I love the money saving app Savvy, the name is actually so smart. Keep up the good work and the awesome videos, super inspiring. You're gonna be huge on YT one day! Glad I got in early hehe :)

    Hi, love your videos and it is really helpful for me since I am stuck and I am considering changeing to UX . However, this may sound like a dumb question but all the project in your portfolio are real? Like would I be able to fin dthese websites or apps? Or they ''fake'' and its a way to show how a potential app can be created and breaking down every steps?

    • @BlackGirlLovesAnime6
      @BlackGirlLovesAnime6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Omg I’m in the same boat. I’m currently in the medical field and got accepted into a medical technologist program that got postponed to the summer because I still need clinical rotations. Takes 2 years to do and is 30k post bacc. I hate the current hospital I work at it’s draining and not a good environment for success. I’m thinking of doing a 180 and zoning in on my creative side. I love lab but it’s just so stressful and it’s harder to get to the 100k salary than it would be with tech.

    Question: is it a necessity to have a website as your portfolio or can you use a pdf with links to prototypes etc. ?

    • @hellostephaniem
      @hellostephaniem  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It doesn’t have to be a live website but some job applications do require a link to a portfolio. So keep that in mind!

    Hi Stephanie, I just subscribed to your channel! I’m planning on transitioning into the UX field sooner than later, and I wanted to get your thoughts on UX bootcamps versus going to a college/university to get either a bachelors or Master’s degree that has a focus on UX design/research?
    I know for some, going to school is more of an expensive and longer route, but I’m personally leaning on going to school because my current employer offers tuition reimbursement (and unfortunately my employer won’t cover the cost of bootcamps).
    So based on your experience, do you see fellow co-workers that have a degree focused on UX or is it the bootcamp route?

    • @hellostephaniem
      @hellostephaniem  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Maria! I know a lot of universities are offering HCI (human computer interaction) which is a similar study to UX design. Most my co-workers went the bootcamp, had a research degree or where previously graphic design.
      If your employer reimburses your tuition then 100% do that! Just make sure you get a portfolio out of it. Good luck!
