Talk about "dont leave town untill you've seen the country " , had it not been so Nieve about the mining statis at home (NZ) I probably would not have left for Oz , 17 years now ,6 of them in gold still having a blast. Excellent narration & bloody good footage ,keep em coming.

Fantastic, My Great Grandfather was at Half Ounce Creek inland From Totara Flat mining, My Grandfather was at Waiuta also on the dredge at the road where you turn off main road up toward Waiuta, his old house is still there on the corner, many of my family are still mining From Whataroa all the way up the coast, Family originally were at Gillespie's beach, Have a few relations buried there, heard some epic stories about ole time mining, including how the church was the only area at Gillespie's beach that hadn't been mined, one day it burned down, next day a new one was being built on ground that had already been mined, lol.

This is really top work - loving the genuine kiwi feel to it, and the professional level narrating and editing.

Great content and presentation Patrick. Gives us recreational guys a good idea of mining at scale. Costs are certainly a big factor in commercial mining compared to us running a 4inch dredge / 8hp motor in a small stream. Costs us about 4 litres of petrol a day (a day is until we get too cold to continue). Still we're happy to make costs plus enough for a cup of coffee each per day. Cheers JoeP

Well done Patrick Phelps, Navar and Geoffrey. Cool to get a look in on what you guys do on the job. This sort of video would be good for students at school. And as I am a retired Science Ag. Hort. Tech. teacher, know how these sort of videos are useful for school kids..

Great filming etc. I was down south (from Waikato, trying to retire) back in Feb. Think I found a good river spot hope to get back down shortly to verifie it as I've seen the price go from $3200 to $4600 an ozt in 9 months.

Really good production. Hopefully Discovery or possibly a local network picks this up!! It would be great to hear about previous operations like the guys from Oz that first dredged rivers such as the lyell etc...
