Even though this scene is far from historical reality, I love that the guy who killed the man leading the prayer doesn't even understand that he gave him exactly what every Muslim wishes for, to be granted martyrdom especially while performing prayer. If you guys actually study history, the Vikings were quite impressed by Islam when they saw it. When Vikings saw the way Muslims prayed, it seemed similar to their own prayers, full of chants and devotion. U really don't want to go through the effort, don't you -_-. They don't attack for the fun of it. Their aim is to spread Islam and to do so they send messengers with conditions ( either convert or let people convert peacefully and pay a reasonable amount of money for protection ' like taxes ') and if the rulers choose war they get it. Spain's story starts the same way with the addition of Spain's king being so bad that one of his men helped the Muslims. Did they kill civilians and burn down churches? Did they steal the riches and let Spain stew in poverty? No. They didn't. He didn't want to be Muslim, he just realised their passion that rivals his own for Norse gods which he empathised with and gained a sense of respect and relation.
