To be honest, Candace busting the boys, regretting it, and starting to cover for them instead would be an interesting thing to watch. If the revival wanted to change things up a bit, and put Candace in a collaborative role rather than an antagonistic one, that'd be a great way to do it. In my opinion, some of the best episodes were ones in which Candace was supporting the boys anyway, and as a premise her covering for them would certainly bring them into a closer relationship.

An antagonist is simply a character that works against the protagonist(s), and this is an accurate description of Candace's role in the show, Phineas and Ferb are our protagonists and Candace works against them. She is not, I will agree, a villain, she is in no way evil, a prerequisite for villainy, and isn't an especially bad person, but she is still an antagonist, that is the role she plays in the narrative of the show.
I think the closest insight we get to that is probably “ interview with a platypus”. But for real, Linda would probably send them to an engineering internship or something.
But like in She's the Mayor and in Quantum Boogaloo, she was absolutely livid. The platypus translator is the only time she saw the invention and did not freak out

That it is a result of the lack of Perry in his life makes a lot of sense, and gives a lot more meaning to their relationship
Ahah yeah, we don't know exactly for how long Perry and Doof have been nemeses, so it's hard to tell how long Perry's been a positive influence in Doof's life. Yet, most of Doof's growth happened during that one summer, so with Perry out of the picture on the very first day of summer, Heinz wouldn't have held himslef back and he would probably be headed on a much worse path... that's how great Perry is xD

Uhh... I don't think so. The supercomputer was able to count probability of literally everything with such an extreme precision that it could freely manipulate events, behaviours and thoughts of the characters. That's awfully dangerous, what if Doof asked it for a way to take over the Tri-State Area? As soon it would spout one of its signature lines in front of Linda, like "you've discovered me, just as I predicted", she would have a similar thought process to me and get angry. AIs are risky endeavour ppl.
Phineas and Ferb are confirmed in universe to have a "positive luck" aura that binds to them and is the reason why they never get busted. Milo has the exact opposite, and they said that Milo within the presence of P & F would counteract both of their energies. So it's definitely possible for them to get busted if Milo pays them a visit.
I think quantum Boogaloo it’s just the worst case scenario. Yes the scenario will change depending on the invention. Like how the rainbow Inator or the lemonade stand are tame. The boys making a video game you can transport inside of or a clone machine would just be small potatoes.

I think another aspect about it too is how Linda handles Lawrence since Lawrence (for the most part) does know about the boy's inventions and at the very least is under the impression Linda is also aware and accepting of this. Would he defend them? Or would he be shocked to see Linda is actually unapproving of this and could that lead to a possible strain on their relationship?
I think Linda would be shocked at first but then ask her husband about what’s going on and then chill out anyway and look into sending the boys into a gifted school.

Alternate version would be that Phineas and Ferb would shown their mother that they can be responsible with the power tools. There was times where Linda did seen what the boys did without any repercussions like the love handle reunion concert and her birthday card. She more likely could see that some of the inventions weren’t dangerous and get the boys to do less dangerous stuff.

There’s no concrete answer to if Linda found their inventions. Like She actually did find their animal translator and thought it was cute. So in the end, it's just the realistic outcome of the situation. With Phineas and Ferb are being forbade to invent this and that ever again but then continue to do so anyway with Candance keeps covering for them in order to make it up for them. In fact, she might even told them to invent things that Linda will approved of in order to slightly improve their circumstances and to make her proud of them for being able to build some harmless inventions. I just wrote this as an answer to another comment a few minutes ago, so if you don't mind I'll just copy and paste my answer xD I guess if Phineas and Ferb do happen to get busted for something extremely dangerous then Isabella, Buford and Baljeet's parents would probably forbid them from hanging out with the boys again. But if we happened to have a dystopian future like in the Boogaloo episode, - a much more interesting scenario imo - then I suppose Phineas and the gang would all be "stored away safely" along with other children, pushing Candace to go set them free, perhaps alongside Stacy and Jeremy (since their sisters too would end up in the storage thingy). However, in case the boys are trapped before anyone else - given how they were the ones to cause all that turmoil - then I can see Isabella, Buford and Baljeet, along with the fireside girl, escape before they're trapped too and hide in one of the fireside girls's many hideouts as they come up with a plan. Later, with Candace's help, they might all go rescue the boys who, with their great minds, would surely be able to find a way to save the day, showing the world how their intellect is a blessing and they shouldn't limit themselves just because they're kids. If what the parents want is supervision, it's perfectly fine for them, as long as they can use their minds to enjoy themselves and to help out people in need

Yep OR Doof's inventsions or Perrys involvement since those 2 are main cause of her obsessment of busting her little brothers for MOST of the series since Phieas and Ferb's structors disappear because of those 2.
That is a good theory. The fly in the ointment is that if your other theory that Linda already knows (which I thought was a slight possibility from before that video) is accurate, most of what you said probably would be moot. Assuming otherwise, I personally think that Linda could ground Phineas and Ferb for a period of time and apologizes to Candace. Then after processing everything and seeing things from the boys point of view she let's them continue under certain conditions and limitations, mainly that none of the super dangerous and/or technically illegal stuff (the ones that you mentioned almost getting them killed or put on the news) happens, and they have adult super vision from her, Lawrence or even Candace if they do anything that requires tools or building permits. I doubt the boys would mind too much.
Well, it’s kind of funny the boys inventions basically helps Agent P defeat evil. So, without the inventions there is only a power struggle. Even though Perry wins most of the time, there are instances where Perry can’t really defeat evil on their own and uses the inventions to help. So, maybe like in the dream it could be like Stacy that will explain the situation without given the explanation of why she knows. So, yeah it would make sense if she busted Phineas and Ferb and then regrets it to protect them from future consequences.
To be honest they did got busted in the original series episode Love at First Byte when Linda asked Phineas and Ferb to pick up a mess at the start of the episode and then Norm(Doof's robot) overheated and burst into confetti and made a HUGE mess and Linda busted her sons for not keeping their promise to clean up the area in a freindly term like busting.
Ok calling Roger a "heartless politician" is a bit harsh, don't you think? Yes he can come off as a bit cold and he certainly did some F...d up shit while he was a kid, however that changed at some point during his teens. Remember the backstory where Roger ruined Heinz's painting on accident and, as a result of that, dedicated part of his time for the following 30 years to restoring said painting? Of course he would've done well to tell his Brother BEFORE unveiling the, now restored, painting, would've prevented that nasty incident where Heinz ruined his own artwork.
If Candace really was concerned about her Brothers safety when they were building their inventions, she would have told them “BOYS, that’s too dangerous! I’m responsible for you and IF Mom sees you with this you’re going to get grounded!” Instead, she goes running to Mom directly. She does care about her brothers, but this factor proves she’s just trying to bust them to get attention.
The boys have probably been watching how to videos on construction work and using the construction equipment safely, which is why they haven’t even done as little as skin their knees.
I would say , in a way , Candace is has built-in mind set of a over-protective parent. (Like her mom.) She don't really want them to be in trouble , deep inside , she is just afraid about them being hurt (under the misunderstanding between parents and kids......I mean , those two truly thought they got the permission from the mom.). So , I think in the end , The duo would still be allowed to do their things.......but under some sort of limitation.(Keep the future projects under a certain level of safety. that is OK for their age range.)
Like I don’t think that people of the tri-state area react like how they did it during the roller coaster thing because they’ve already supported and been to lots of Phineas and Ferb things in future episodes. So they would already know and support these things because they’re fun.
This doesn’t trick me, and it makes sense, especially her dream. Because even though her thoughts on Linda‘s reaction was very extreme since Linda will most likely not send them away like that. I do believe that because it was her unconscious those are her beliefs. She knows that she will regret it in the end yet she wants to deny and deny and deny it every time.
What I think would be cool is if the boys ice out Candace for busting them. Hear me out, to Phineas and Ferbs perspective they never took Candace busting them so seriously. At best she was just trying to show their mom their inventions, and at worst she was just obsessive and they shrugged it. Then when Candace is not busting them they're working together and having fun. So for Candace to finally succeed in busting them and genuinely being happy at the sight of getting them in trouble, they would feel hurt and view this as a betrayal. Because they thought they were having fun, and Candace glee at the sight of them in trouble can be very over the top. So after celebrating her short-win, the boys will start giving her the cold shoulder, not talking to her, and not wanting anything to do with her. Causing a rift between Plus lets take into account that Isabella, Baljeet, and Buford may view her as a joy-killer for ruining their fun

They actually never did, they're definitely aware of it but they don't seem to ask. I suppose they just prefer to ignore the whole matter at once hoping Candace will eventually grow out of it. The writers did explain why time and time again, but Candace very rarely explained it herself in an episode
She would still be mad because their inventions are either dangerous to use or to build. Plus, I hardly doubt they ALWAYS get permits and licences: they're minors, so even if the government or NASA or whatever actually allowed them to build a skyscraper to the moon, a spaceship or a portal to Mars giving them permits and stuff - which is already pretty far-fetched ahah - it's not like they would allow them to do all this while keeping their parents in the dark. Again, they're minors so the parents should legally be involved if the kids want any of those permits. So either they do most things behind their mother's back without actually having permits and licences, or my Linda theory is true and she and knew about the boys' doings all along xD

When I was a kid, the show kinda annoyed me too far . but I don’t know what’s annoying Phineas and Ferb being so unorthodox cause kids don’t invent advance inventions in their age until they learn at at least 14 years. Or Candace was being such a self-centered spoiled brat who thinks she can do whatever she wants. She always answers for her mother, but she never answers to her stepdad otherwise she’s living in a stupid cartoon world where she can’t live her happily ever Afters. "Phineas and Ferb Get Busted" and even "Quantum Boogaloo" are just DARK, VERY DARK. I've seen the episodes, and I'll start with pnf get busted. Linda would be too warm-hearted to do that to her children. She loves and cares about them. So, just shoving them to somewhere where they'll just be downright miserable and scared. Sure, the things they make can be "Deadly", but they're just kids. They love what they do. Plus, this is the plot of the show. Would kids really want to watch "Adults" doing this stuff? Now Quantum Boogaloo. Banishing creativity and locking children away until they're older is JUST CHILD ABUSE! Why the heck would they do this?! Surely, Doof is not that coldhearted, right? That was 70-year-old Linda though, nor her in the present day. Learning what her kids are up to in the present is one thing, learning what they did 20 years ago is not quite the same thing. She was mad at the boys when she busted them in the present because she was scared they might get hurt, but if they're now grown-ups then there's no reason for her to be mad, since they're both safe and sound now

I liked that episode but I understand where some don't. In my opinion it doesn't need a rewrite but to each his own I respect other opinions on it.
Alternate version would be that Phineas and Ferb would shown their mother that they can be responsible with the power tools. There was times where Linda did seen what the boys did without any repercussions like the love handle reunion concert and her birthday card. She more likely could see that some of the inventions weren’t dangerous and get the boys to do less dangerous stuff.
Also Candace covering for the boys isn’t to far fetched since she did that for love handle reunion concert.

So in the end, it's just the realistic outcome of the situation. With Phineas and Ferb are being forbade to invent this and that ever again but then continue to do so anyway with Candance keeps covering for them in order to make it up for them. In fact, she might even told them to invent things that Linda will approved of in order to slightly improve their circumstances and to make her proud of them for being able to build some harmless inventions. I guess if Phineas and Ferb do happen to get busted for something extremely dangerous then Isabella, Buford and Baljeet's parents would probably forbid them from hanging out with the boys again.
But if we happened to have a dystopian future like in the Boogaloo episode, - a much more interesting scenario imo - then I suppose Phineas and the gang would all be "stored away safely" along with other children, pushing Candace to go set them free, perhaps alongside Stacy and Jeremy (since their sisters too would end up in the storage thingy).
However, in case the boys are trapped before anyone else - given how they were the ones to cause all that turmoil - then I can see Isabella, Buford and Baljeet, along with the fireside girl, escape before they're trapped too and hide in one of the fireside girls's many hideouts as they come up with a plan.
Later, with Candace's help, they might all go rescue the boys who, with their great minds, would surely be able to find a way to save the day, showing the world how their intellect is a blessing and they shouldn't limit themselves just because they're kids. If what the parents want is supervision, it's perfectly fine for them, as long as they can use their minds to enjoy themselves and to help out people in need

I'm surprised you didn't mention the episode where they build the animal translator and Lynda sees it and she just says it's cute and doesn't even acknowledge how impressive it is that they could build something like that because even if it's not dangerous, that's still an impressive scientific breakthrough. She clearly doesn't care about their impressive minds, she is just concerned for their safety or her garden
But the translator didn't work when she was there.

Yep OR Doof's inventsions or Perrys involvement since those 2 are main cause of her obsessment of busting her little brothers for MOST of the series since Phieas and Ferb's structors disappear because of those 2.
That is a good theory. The fly in the ointment is that if your other theory that Linda already knows (which I thought was a slight possibility from before that video) is accurate, most of what you said probably would be moot.
Assuming otherwise, I personally think that Linda could ground Phineas and Ferb for a period of time and apologizes to Candace. Then after processing everything and seeing things from the boys point of view she let's them continue under certain conditions and limitations, mainly that none of the super dangerous and/or technically illegal stuff (the ones that you mentioned almost getting them killed or put on the news) happens, and they have adult super vision from her, Lawrence or even Candace if they do anything that requires tools or building permits. I doubt the boys would mind too much.
Well, it’s kind of funny the boys inventions basically helps Agent P defeat evil. So, without the inventions there is only a power struggle. Even though Perry wins most of the time, there are instances where Perry can’t really defeat evil on their own and uses the inventions to help. So, maybe like in the dream it could be like Stacy that will explain the situation without given the explanation of why she knows. So, yeah it would make sense if she busted Phineas and Ferb and then regrets it to protect them from future consequences.

To be honest they did got busted in the original series episode Love at First Byte when Linda asked Phineas and Ferb to pick up a mess at the start of the episode and then Norm(Doof's robot) overheated and burst into confetti and made a HUGE mess and Linda busted her sons for not keeping their promise to clean up the area in a freindly term like busting.

Ok calling Roger a "heartless politician" is a bit harsh, don't you think? Yes he can come off as a bit cold and he certainly did some F...d up shit while he was a kid, however that changed at some point during his teens. Remember the backstory where Roger ruined Heinz's painting on accident and, as a result of that, dedicated part of his time for the following 30 years to restoring said painting? Of course he would've done well to tell his Brother BEFORE unveiling the, now restored, painting, would've prevented that nasty incident where Heinz ruined his own artwork.
If Candace really was concerned about her Brothers safety when they were building their inventions, she would have told them “BOYS, that’s too dangerous! I’m responsible for you and IF Mom sees you with this you’re going to get grounded!” Instead, she goes running to Mom directly. She does care about her brothers, but this factor proves she’s just trying to bust them to get attention.

The boys have probably been watching how to videos on construction work and using the construction equipment safely, which is why they haven’t even done as little as skin their knees.
I would say , in a way , Candace is has built-in mind set of a over-protective parent. (Like her mom.) She don't really want them to be in trouble , deep inside , she is just afraid about them being hurt (under the misunderstanding between parents and kids......I mean , those two truly thought they got the permission from the mom.).
So , I think in the end , The duo would still be allowed to do their things.......but under some sort of limitation.(Keep the future projects under a certain level of safety. that is OK for their age range.)

Like I don’t think that people of the tri-state area react like how they did it during the roller coaster thing because they’ve already supported and been to lots of Phineas and Ferb things in future episodes. So they would already know and support these things because they’re fun.

This doesn’t trick me, and it makes sense, especially her dream. Because even though her thoughts on Linda‘s reaction was very extreme since Linda will most likely not send them away like that. I do believe that because it was her unconscious those are her beliefs. She knows that she will regret it in the end yet she wants to deny and deny and deny it every time.

What I think would be cool is if the boys ice out Candace for busting them.
Hear me out, to Phineas and Ferbs perspective they never took Candace busting them so seriously. At best she was just trying to show their mom their inventions, and at worst she was just obsessive and they shrugged it. Then when Candace is not busting them they're working together and having fun. So for Candace to finally succeed in busting them and genuinely being happy at the sight of getting them in trouble, they would feel hurt and view this as a betrayal. Because they thought they were having fun, and Candace glee at the sight of them in trouble can be very over the top.
So after celebrating her short-win, the boys will start giving her the cold shoulder, not talking to her, and not wanting anything to do with her. Causing a rift between

Well to be fair. Phineas and Ferb have made some pretty dangerous inventions. One that comes to mind is the escape tower. And the only reason she wasn’t there to bust / protect them. She was asleep! Was I the only one scared and hoping Candace would wake up and save her brothers?! I know they were fine! But what if they hadn’t been?! Candace and also Perry would’ve never forgiven themselves if Phineas and Ferb got hurt or worse!

While it would be an interesting concept having Candace covering for the boys as they try to build contraptions against their parents' wishes, I doubt Disney would want a show promoting doing things against parents' wishes.
By the way, do Phineas and Ferb ever ask Candace why she's always trying to "bust" them?
They actually never did, they're definitely aware of it but they don't seem to ask. I suppose they just prefer to ignore the whole matter at once hoping Candace will eventually grow out of it. The writers did explain why time and time again, but Candace very rarely explained it herself in an episode

She would still be mad because their inventions are either dangerous to use or to build. Plus, I hardly doubt they ALWAYS get permits and licences: they're minors, so even if the government or NASA or whatever actually allowed them to build a skyscraper to the moon, a spaceship or a portal to Mars giving them permits and stuff - which is already pretty far-fetched ahah - it's not like they would allow them to do all this while keeping their parents in the dark. Again, they're minors so the parents should legally be involved if the kids want any of those permits.
So either they do most things behind their mother's back without actually having permits and licences, or my Linda theory is true and she and knew about the boys' doings all along xD

When I was a kid, the show kinda annoyed me too far . but I don’t know what’s annoying Phineas and Ferb being so unorthodox cause kids don’t invent advance inventions in their age until they learn at at least 14 years. Or Candace was being such a self-centered spoiled brat who thinks she can do whatever she wants. She always answers for her mother, but she never answers to her stepdad otherwise she’s living in a stupid cartoon world where she can’t live her happily ever Afters. Otherwise if I were her, I act like a better sister, one who has a protected side and tries to be a good voice of reason not a voice of gloating.
"Phineas and Ferb Get Busted" and even "Quantum Boogaloo" are just DARK, VERY DARK. I've seen the episodes, and I'll start with pnf get busted. Linda would be too warm-hearted to do that to her children. She loves and cares about them. So, just shoving them to somewhere where they'll just be downright miserable and scared. Sure, the things they make can be "Deadly", but they're just kids. They love what they do. Plus, this is the plot of the show. Would kids really want to watch "Adults" doing this stuff? Now Quantum Boogaloo. Banishing creativity and locking children away until they're older is JUST CHILD ABUSE! Why the heck would they do this?! Surely, Doof is not that coldhearted, right? Or when people started working for him, he brainwashed everybody to not give a damn about their kids anymore. IS THAT IT!? It's a kids' show, KIDS. I don't think kids would like to see other kids getting slaughtered. 🥺
I’ll be honest what really annoys me about the scenario is the fake perfection. Whenever they do something, they’re always right when they aren’t. It’s someone else’s fault when that’s not true. That was 70-year-old Linda though, nor her in the present day. Learning what her kids are up to in the present is one thing, learning what they did 20 years ago is not quite the same thing. She was mad at the boys when she busted them in the present because she was scared they might get hurt, but if they're now grown-ups then there's no reason for her to be mad, since they're both safe and sound now
