8:21 In the episode where Linda dates Doof in a flashback, he says he wants to rule the world, and she comments about starting small with the Tri-State Area. It's implied that's what inspired him to want to take over the Tri-State Area.
That's true, but he never actually acted upon Linda's suggestion up until "Hail Doofania", so maybe he wasn't really motivated to conquer the Tri-State area before then. So yeah, that's almost certainly where he got the idea from to begin with, but he only tried putting it into action after Roger became mayor
This reminds me a lot of Greg Heffley. I feel he wants to be rich and famous is not just to impress the world that ignores him, but also his neglectful parents. Instead, people say how horrible he is(he’s not the best friend and has done some bad stuff) but it’s all just to prove himself.
Maybe that will actually be a plot point in season five. Doofenshmirtz, with the help of Vanessa, actually tells his parents how he felt all those years ago, and basically finishes a multiseason character arc for him. considering his actor now has full run of the show, who knows what kind of episodes we might be getting next season.
@@Jegcopo wait, what? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what Dan Povenmire, Doofenshmirtz’s actor, comes up with as an explanation for why Doof could be evil again.
That would be amazing and I would love to see it! By far one of my favorite scenes is when Vanessa basically counsels him about being evil during Last Day of Summer. It was a wholesome scene in my opinion 😊
@@gracekim25 Yes, he'll turn evil again by Christmas and some time after that he'll become good again once and for all, Dan Povenmire talked about that in one of his many interviews. I also mentioned that in my Doofenshmirtz Timeline video
There's an inaccuracy here. Door canonically did have the ultimate goal of ruling over a large area well before "Hail Doofania". Originally he wanted to take over the world, but Linda inspired him to try with the tri-state area first.
True, although he never actually *tried* to conquer it before 'Hail Doofania'. Linda gave him the idea, but he never acted upon it, probably because he didn't have a reason to yet. However, as Roger got elected, Heinz probably connected the dots and decided to put Linda's idea into action. Perhaps, he completely forgot about Linda's idea of conquering the Tri-State Area up until the moment Roger got elected. Then it all came flooding back x)
He canonically told Linda that he wanted to rule the world. That doesn’t mean he actually wanted it. His voice sounds so sarcastic in that scene, that I’m sure he’s just joking/making fun of Linda’s dream to become a popstar. ”Makes me want to become a popstar!” ”Ha! Yeah right, and I’m going to ruuule the world!” ”Well, why not?” ”Yeah, like I could do that.” So yeah, I don’t think he told her the truth, or that he had any plans to take over anything at that point
This is was such a great analysis Jegcopo! You can’t help but feel sad for Doof and see that’s he’s more than just your average cartoon villain. The show does a great job digging into his past.
Thanks very much :D And yes, absolutely, not only Doos is an extremely likable character on his own but, because of his tragic past, they made us sympathize for him even more, it's almost impossible for people to dislike him x)
Why Doof did not notice the abuses? I said this because Zeke did notice the abuses and when he did, he snapped and he ratted his dad out. Sadly, his mom got into the mess too. But the point is that eventually, it will become obvious for the kids to notice the abuses. As for doing something about it, that is up to them. Some will ratted the abusers out, some will pretended to be nice while buying times and wait for the moment to strike, and some decided to run away fro mthe abusive parents. But yet, Heinz did none of these. Why? Why did he never notice the abuses his parents inflicted upon him?
In the episode where Heinz returns to Drusselstein, I wish we could have had an end credit scene of Doof and his father putting the broken lawn gnome back together. Truly would have been a more satisfying ending to the episode.
Proof that nobody is born evil and that those purest of heart can overcome the worst circumstances, and be the greatest dad ever even under the worst parents themselves
Doof still loves his parents despite their mistreatment of him and still tries to earn their love 😅 but yeah it’s depressing plus the fact that the backstory changes every time 30.9.23
It is sad when people who were abused, take it out on others. That is a good point you’re making in this video. It is good he forgives them unconditionally though. Forgiveness does not make trust. Trust must be earned, but forgiveness set us free and if he would take for forgiveness, he would be able to be good and stay good something to think about.
That's the episode "Flop Starz" (I showed some clips of it in the video), but there Doof only talks about wreaking havoc in the Tri-State Area, and not actually conquering it. That was one of those standard evil plans of generic villains with no purpose, villains who are evil for the sake of being evil xD The show was probably still trying to figure out what to do with Doofenshmirtz there. That episode was one of the first ones they produced too, so it makes sense
I think Doof was just trying to be successfull as a villain because hey, he never succeded in anything, he may just try to be good at that at least. Vanessa says thinks he was trying to act as a villain because he felt obbliged to do so due to his tragic childood. My idea is that he was trying to figure out what to do in his life sinc everything failed, realize that in media often villain has tragic backstories and went "hey i have a tragic backstory, i can be a villain, maybe that's what I can be successful at and that would allow me to take revenge at the world and every that made my life an hell" so he didn't have a specific goal at the start and tryied generic evil plots just to prove he is a good villain. Then it came the Tri State stuff.
I've actually been working on it today, that's probably going to be my next upload, and hopefully it will come out soon. I'm glad to know someone's looking forward to it :D
I would honestly love to see doof get some revenge on his crappy parents the closest animes I can think of is welcome to Demon school and I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in The Real W world as both parents, and both of these shows, treat their children like crap I mean, one practically said that, even though they are their son, they are too ugly to even eat with them, causing them to eat off the ground and the other ones straight up, sold his soul to a demon for cash use him as bait for a shark, and I just downright horrible people altogether, and I almost forgot one more avatar last Airbender fire lord literally told his son his sister was born lucky you were lucky to be born. That is some serious, horrible parenting. You know the funny thing, and all the shows have in common, they were either raised by a grandparent who treated them well weren’t Uncle literally not even their parents like dang to all three of these parents, in each of the shows suck as parents they suck ASS
Great video analysis! For some reason I never truly connected his evilness with the way his parents treated him. One thing I am curious about is who is in the posters at 3:21?
Thanks a lot :D That was never revealed, actually, I can only assume she's a girl Heinz was really into as a teenager who didn't reciprocate his feelings. Or perhaps, they were boyfriend and girlfriend and she broke up with him. All we know is that, at the time, his parents told him to not "make a mountain out of a molehill"
Wasn't there a flashback scene of doofenshnirtz was dating linda as they were teens. Doofenshnirtz told Linda he wanted to take over the world, but she said the scale was too big so she told him to take over the tri-state area first.
There’s a thing heinz’s father never shows affection for either rot his sons. Like in neither in backstories or present showing does his father care. I mean Roger sent him a giant gnome that made espresso and he wasn’t impressed.
That's true actually, although he did seem to imply he liked Roger's gift more than Heinz's when he said "But, you know, rubble is a nice gift too" At least Mrs. Doofenshmirtz cared for Roger very much, so I guess that makes her a better person... Or worse, depends on how you look at it lol
It's not like he wanted to, he just scoffed at the idea of Linda becoming a pop star, saying that if she can do it, then he can surely rule the world. I don't think he ever planned to rule it, he just said it to make fun of her
I would love to see a psychologist do an in-depth analysis on Doof's unhealthy relationship with his parents.
