    This is the plugin that should be the new feature in sketchup, not some minor updates like years before

    Quick tip
    If you have knowledge of Photoshop you can create your bump maps or even change the texture used, making it a great tool for seamless patterns even in the free version

    I just noticed you -did- have your award in the background. I couldn't tell before. Hilarious (and ridiculous I didn't see it). Anyways, still congrats!
    This procedural texture creator website is decent but not top tier quality in terms of textures. It's good for regular models but may not be best for rendering purposes (it's certainly not terrible though either and the ease of use is real nice). I've used it a few times over the last year or 2 or whenever I noted it went live. Like you said in this clip though it does seem to be getting better and it's smart for them to be partnering up with 3rd party companies to hopefully get official branded textures which is a more recent development. It has promise but it raises a cost versus quality comparison for me.

    Thanks. Setup the Pro version month yesterday. App works great, but the bump mapping is not what i expected. It didn't apply the bump mapping to the selected item/color, but changed it from beige color to a dark grey with a very pronounced pattern that i couldn't get rid of. Otherwise pretty good way to bring new textures in. As you mentioned Sketchup's native pallet of built-in textures is very limited, but I would really like to be able to do nice, quick and dirty native Sketchup screen renderings without having to use V-Ray or Enscape every time. , I think this may be a way to get there.

    I wonder what this plug in texture will look like when rendered compared to other textures that you can get in websites

    Hey Justin. Useful video. I am using architectures for brick on a model. However, I need to know how to use the texture to a section of pavers where the brick is actually laid with the end facing up (4" x 4"?). Can you tell me how to accomplish this?

    I wonder how compatible it is with Vray! if it generates its own maps it might work well !

    This looks awesome. Unfortunately you still have to use the terrible SU color picker.

      What's wrong with the SU color picker? (on PC anyway, the material tools on Mac are weird to me)

    sketchup feels like it was made in 1995. it will hardly ever innovate as much because it will just go to extension developers

    • @Thesketchupessentials
      @Thesketchupessentials  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wouldn't an extension developer adding a good feature count as innovation? It's so weird to me that if something isn't "native," for some reason people just don't count it...
