For the common "Fink" truss the plugin actually does provide a link to the truss calculator (transfers the geometric parameters and material properties) and allows one to analyze and even engineer a fink truss (metal plates only). This feature is still experimental but can provide some valuable information with regards to specific loads (distributed and point) and spans.
Just a note, the version of the plugin listed at the Extension Warehouse is often not the latest version. I've been rolling new revisions almost weekly and often times I don't update the listing until a few weeks later.
This extension is part of the mdkBIM suite of extensions (Wall, Truss, Foundation, Floor and Project). Watch the following tutorial to view the use of the Foundation, Wall and Truss plugins in creating a small detached garage: th-cam.com/video/J_GZva1O_Fo/w-d-xo.html

Version 2.1.2 - 12.18.2017 - Enabled vertical and angled heel blocking within the advanced options for truss roofs. If you choose to enable vent holes the heelblock menu will prompt for the hole diameter. The vent hole algorithm will place vent holes in the heel blocking per the truss spacing: < 12 in. = 1 vent hole < 16 in. = 2 vent holes 16 in. or greater = 3 vent holes Let me know if this makes sense, I can always modify it to meet any criteria. If this sort of thing varies a lot per locale I can also make it more user definable.
I've just recently added asymmetric gable (rafter) roofs. This should be a welcome addition and give the designer quite a bit more flexibility with more complex roof designs.
The complex roof module is an exciting new addition to the plugin: Tutorial 16: Intro. to Complex Roofs - th-cam.com/video/UtlKXfN5d5s/w-d-xo.html Tutorial: 17: Complex Roof Connections - th-cam.com/video/L5GcytJzOrI/w-d-xo.html
Asymmetric hip (rafter) roofs is now available in Version 2.3.7, this is a fairly significant upgrade to the hip roof module. View the asymmetric hip roof tutorial here: th-cam.com/video/pzcolzABEbE/w-d-xo.html
We can't, but you can! SketchUp's API and SDK available to anyone who is interested in expanding upon Sketchup's default capabilities! developer.sketchup.com/en
Imagine if you could create the model in SketchUp and then somehow 3D print the bulk of the house/structure. Who knows, it may not be too out there in a few years.

I love this Plugin!
Great tutorial!
Are you sure the valley trusses are correct? Try sheathing the roof and nothing lines up on the dormer.
Can i get this plugin, but in centimeters / meters?
Yes, it automatically switches to metric when the units of the model are metric.

It would be nice if SketchUp worked on cleaning models for export to other 3d programs. The way it just slaps lines and vertices on models is nasty.

can you build plugin with laos style house's roof?
We can't, but you can! SketchUp's API and SDK available to anyone who is interested in expanding upon Sketchup's default capabilities! developer.sketchup.com/en
Wow look cool
make a video about components please
We have one of those! th-cam.com/video/sc7RPOJgWqs/w-d-xo.html
Then just hit print and an army of robots builds it 😁

It's a lot more than $30 now
Hi,Do You use a 3d mouse?
