My bet is on a Force-like clip matrix: now that tracks are hard-aligned along sequences, it is the missing link for sequences to be scenes and for the MPC to attract DAW refugees.
As someone with an IT development background I must say I am seriously impressed with AKAI. The fact that they run a public beta and are able to turn around beta updates with fixes and new features with such speed show that they have a solid team and process in place. It also shows that the architecture of the OS is pretty sound. The contrast with Native Instruments’s Maschine is frankly painful. I find personally the Maschine workflow better but NI hasn’t invested in updates for years and years now….
Roland and the Fantom line have been non existent with any workflow improvements. Akai put them to shame. The last update that we got from Roland in terms of workflow enhancements was when they allowed us to play 64 bars instead of 32. We were to gasp and fawn at the sheer generosity of them. That was over two years ago now giving us things tyts should have been there on the day of release.
I wonder where MPC3 Beta 4 is? It's been consistently on a 3 week release schedule since the first one. Hope it come out soon. I was really hoping they would add back time signatures outside of 4/4 in the next round.
I'm so excited about so much on MPC 3, but as far as I know, there is no option for odd time signatures. I really really hope they bring this back. This was literally the MAIN reason I got rid of my Akai Force. I write music in odd times and if this is to be a proper standalone, having one option for time signature is pretty annoying haha. Spread the word if you can! Haha.
yeah you're absolutely right. I use 6/8 every now and then on MPC2 and there doesn't seem to be a way to handle this on MPC3 beta. I'll bring it up to Akai!
@@teftymusictech I appreciate you, you're a G! Haha. Yeah, man, I write music not just in times like 5/4, 7/4, but also 8th note odd meters, like 5/8, 7/8, 11/8, etc. Got my fingers crossed 🤞🏼 Thanks again for hearing me on this, man!
I'm confused about the track mute feature because I'm still on the second MPC 3 update and I still have access to my track mute feature and it works like I would expect it to
hello, have you tried recording automation for track mutes? in my case, the event are recorded but not played (i can see it in List Edit mode, but on play it wont mute). i tried dozens of times on my Live mk1
Any idea why audio tracks are still hard muted instead of being able to have event muting? It would be nice to allow reverb tails when muting audio tracks in a performance setting. Do you think that's something they are going to work on in the future?
Hello, so I tried to update however, my activation button wouldn’t show. I was logged in, wifi was on and I logged out and logged back in, turned wifi on and off, everything was as it should be but not activation button. It shows MPC 3 to the left but not activation to the right. Also is there a way to select multiple files for backup? And how do we report these bugs?
They need to make event muting global to the setting you have it selected. Currently you can't event mute from the home page or from midi learn. Not ideal for a live setting.
I personally haven't but I also haven't done full on productions with MPC3 yet, since I was waiting for features. I did see some bug fixes on syncing. It's possible it was fixed, but I don't know for sure.
@@teftymusictech if anyone else sees this looking for answers removing the usb for the midi keyboard restores playback. it took some forum scouring but that's the fix. i had an mpk mini attached to send CC to a zoia pedal and it makes the mpc stop playing sound after one pass of the loop
Another Great video! Luv your stuff 🔥
Thank you Bolo!
I was anxious to get MIDI mutes back... The quick switch between the two modes is even better than what I wished !
Yeah I was surprised to see it's even better!
Great video and a cliff hanger ending...intriguing

They just announced that they will no longer support the MK1 and the MK 2 as of November 6th.

That cliff hanger 😂😂😂☺️
Interesting stuff 👍. As ever, I hope my sampler auto-trigger request gets implemented.
About what you said at 1:11..in MPC 2 isn't audio mute 'instant track mute' ? This choice between midi and audio is already in the MPC 2 am I wrong?

Hi there ! Thx you so muuuch for your insights :). Still I have a question. Can you use the internal mpc sidechain towards other synths ?
Thank you for this. Any chance clips are coming back? I use them for live performance and it would be a bummer if they don’t bring it back
I haven't heard anything yet sadly
@@teftymusictech I am eager for clips returning as well. Please nudge Akai if possible, thanks for your great channel!

The track mutes still don’t work in real time like 2.0 so how is it better ?
Any updates on using the Key 37 with the MioXL? It didn’t work in MPC 2 and am wondering if either Akai or iConnectivity has fixed this yet.
Im having trouble with track mutes… when i mute a track on a seq it also mutes track on another seq as if the Seq are the same. Any help?
Does anyone know the newest MPC 3 update name without any bugs or issues before I go and do another one? Is this the most current one? Thanks ya'll 🌗

Lord, this MPC3 update will run on 61 Key too?
Yeah all the modern MPCs
have you had issues with tracks going out of sync after looping once? ive contacted support but no resolutions so far

2.0 better for now until they get 3.0 correct ✅ 😊
How is it back 😂 it’s not really back 😢
