Just rehabbed my 1999 Weber kettle! Ordered cherrywood handles from Amazon, looks amazing!

Thanks Helen! It's not easy being in front of the camera... but an Aussie has to represent!

I just scored a copper Weber grill new version that costs $250 in the store for $75. I washed it up and it literally looks like a brand new grill

serious question , does anyone have any information on how to remove rust from a weber , then what is the best way to go about spot painting that chipped rusted area on the weber , a lot of the older kettles that one comes across have rust spots on them , im not looking at making the enamel look new again , i just want to make sure that the rust does not get worse or starts working under the enamel , thank you for your time .

Hey Lenny. Great Question... with much debate on the intrawebs about it.
Most recommend hitting the rust with a touch of sandpaper, or course steel wool and treat it with cooking oil or fish oil which almost stops it.
The Webers are baked enamel from what I'm aware, and very hard to match as even with the brake caliper or stove paints, they've been known to peel and change colour... and then that looks worse than the ol' rust look. How bad is yours?

Thanks for the video. How did you fix the rusted nut on the top vent? did you replace? OR What? Thank you

      Hi Jeremy,
I ended up cleaning it back with a bit of scrubbing and it's been pretty good, and hasn't gotten any worse. Works fine

Great video I just purchase a new weber 22 inch kettle black, but I want to paint it yellow any suggestions?

      I wouldn't suggest painting it. It's a special enamel I believe that's heat-transfered etc

Good Job Ryan, I'm from Italy and I have found an "old" Weber "P" same as yours but black... so I need to clean or restore the one-touch cleaning sistem, any suggestion?
    Thank you
    Ale

      Hello!!
Good old find. Start by getting some degreaser, and oven cleaner and some steel wool and scrub, scrub, scrub. If it's got a lot of grime baked into it, get a safety blade razor and scrape that off first.
      Good luck!!

Also, I passed up on a free 1988 red head. I should have grabbed it. The paint was in better shape than yours, so now I feel dumb for passing up on it. :(

You will be suprised how well they come up with just a bit of attention. And then it's easy maintenance from then on.
Keep your eye out for ones with timber handles... or a daisy chain bottom! They're collectors.
