Hey, Joe. Since you mention it during so many posts I actually have a comment about the rear window wiper placement. I agree 100% that it would look better stuffed under the spoiler and out of the way but having the wiper flipped upside-down like that means the largest area of the rear window wiped would be at the very top and the bottom portion of the window would be covered in rain, dirt, fog, whatever. Since the SUV sits up higher than any sedan or coupe that means your rear visibility would be about as good as if you were driving a Lamborghini or something. Having that rear wiper at the bottom of the window is ugly as sin but, unfortunately, the most practical placement. Just my opinion. Loving these posts since I'm currently looking for an SUV. Cheers.
Dude, you're wasting your breath. I've been telling him this for a long time. He'll zonk it for eternity. It's OK for the most part to have it up top if there's a digital rear view mirror, but otherwise they need to be at the bottom of the window to see when it's dirty. He also zonks "fake vents" all the time. If it's not a performance vehicle, those areas are for aesthetics and have no need to be functional. He wants it to be flat with no design. There was one car that did that, and it looked ugly as sin.
From the itricate styling of the plush Karmör leather seats, to the subtle grain of Fjädrar fine wood panels, the partnership with IKEA has been a wonderful improvement to the entire Volvo lineup! And it only takes minutes to install yourself. All the hardware is included in the box!
This crossover looks fantastic. That exterior color is awesome. I dig the fact that this is Swedish and sort of a counter to the German competition. Volvo has always been an interesting brand to me.
Volvo XC60 has always been a solid mid-size SUV, but at $65k+ out the door with a turbo 4-banger only at 250ish HP, the lack of value proposition is glaring.
I guess if the engine is the only thing you care about then yea, a volvo suv wouldn't be your thing. They've essentially just made a good enough engine that feels sporty in their sedans, and peppy in their larger vehicles. Their main target has always been safety, comfortability, and they're making a larger splash with the luxury amenities on the interior side.
Hey Joe once again you are the one with the best reviews!! Shout out to Steven, and Lori as well!! Nice Volvo 68k is steep but what aint these days! Thanks again.
Volvos look different than any other car, suv or wagon, which is a very good thing, and the position of the rear wiper is Volvo’s way of doing things. And I like it. That said, I wish the XC60 was available in bright trim with the B6 power train in the U.S.
I have been using 2024 Volvo XC60 Recharge with all options for 6 months. Let me start with the downsides. It is full of software bugs that cannot seem to be resolved. The multimedia system is extremely inconvenient. The engine noise at low speeds is quite disturbing. There is no real sense of driving dynamics. Fuel consumption increases significantly above 120 km/h. It lacks an automatic parking system. Now, for the positives: After the Mercedes G-Class, this is the car in which I feel the safest. The Bowers & Wilkins sound system is amazing and absolutely worth the price. The hybrid system offers a range of 75-80 km in summer and 55-60 km in winter. If the distance between your home and workplace is within this range, you can go through the weekdays without using any fuel. The interior space is quite generous, especially the legroom in the back seats, which is among the best in its class. It is equipped with all advanced safety systems. If your priority is not the driving dynamics offered by BMW, I would definitely recommend it.
Beautiful vehicle. While it's been three years, when I got my 2021 Macan Turbo, I cross-shopped the XC60 and there was no contest. The turbo and super charged four was not in the ballpark as compared to the Macan's turbo six. Also, the 18 way seats are for sure from heaven. The Porsche ventilated seats are much more effective as well.
I love volvos, I currently own s60 2020 and 2017 Volvo XC90. Buying wagoon soon and consider this model plug in verson. Volvo are super reliable and safe vehicles with great dealership and customer service. It's worth every penny
My 22 was totalled loss, luckily picked up a 24 model and love the front new styling. Yea may not be as fast a macan but it’s definitely a classy not showy vehicle!
I love my XC 60 T8. I have no issues with rhe infotainment set up. Yiu fan control most aspects through voice anyway. The steering and power are the most beautiful rhings about the car. The car is a dream to drive, expensive but i look forward to driving ir every day which i could never say about my Audis. A lot of negative comments in the chat which is fair but, coming from a guy who loves quality and a nice driving/handling vehicle, i cant complain. And being able to smoke most vehicles off the line helps too i suppose.
I do love the Volvo XC60 I feel like it looks super cool with those awesome lines and you know that you've made it when you are driving a swedish car. I dig the fake fence on the corners I feel like without them you'll just see too much body color and that would just look rather boring
You want to have horsepower and fun to drive? Try the turbo AND supercharged combo engine in the “dynamic” mode. Not sure what they call it now, but, it used to be the T6.
I would definitely consider Volvo, especially the sedans and wagons, if there was a Volvo dealer anywhere near me. I’m between MKE and CHI and the closest dealers are more than 1 hour away.
I traded in a 3-year-old Macan ICEV for a new XC60 T8 ER, 2.5 years ago, because I wanted a PHEV. If Porsche made a Macan PHEV, I’d have bought that instead (the Cayenne e-hybrid is too big and too expensive, not to mention plagued with CEL problems)… as far as power, the Volvo PHEV is stronger than any Macan (515 lb-ft of torque), but its cockpit (instrument panel & controls & infotainment screen) is vastly inferior to that in the Macan … the other downfall with the Volvo PHEV is that its RWD-only in all-electric mode …
Correct. No wireless charging. The salesman I talked to yesterday told me that component was sourced from Ukraine, and has been unavailable since Russia invaded Ukraine. Seems like they could have found other options, but anyway, that is what he told me.
Amazing that you spent that much time reviewing this vehicle and never address the title you gave this video. Not to mention not a word about hos it handles. Seriously?
We have a 2018 XC60 Inspiration which we bought new in '18 and it's got just under 99K miles. It's been mostly flawless, only a warranty replacement of broken axle covered by warranty early on. Just routine maintenance since. It does just about everything well - comfortable, quiet....but it has no personality. It's a great, reliable crossover. It's just not very fun to drive to be honest. This was my wife's daily until she bought a new S90 T8 Recharge, which is very comfortable, quiet and quick. I took this as a hand-me-down to make it my daily. I sold a Audi S5 SB because the seat was killing my back on anything other than short drives. The S5 was so much more fun that the XC60. So for as good and competent as it is, it's just boring.
I think you might be mixing up the names! The XC60 is actually a Volvo model, not Volkswagen. It’s a compact SUV known for its safety features and stylish design.
I don’t like the rear lights at all. The Porsche overall looks a lot better to me. Quality is also an issue . Porsche > Volvo If $$ is an issue , Audi is basically a lower priced Porsche .
XC60 is still a great looking vehicle and the interior details still outshine many of the competitors. The only real downfall of the product is the 2.0l turbo 4 cylinder engine. It has the personality of a vacuum cleaner. Mostly woman are the target customer with the XC60 so from that perspective the 2.0 turbo engine is fine. Both Porsche Macan and Audi Q5 offer more engaging Powertrain above a 4 cylinder turbo engine for the more discriminating customer.
Go drive the plug in hybrid. I have all the dealers on one road fortunately. When I drove the XC60 with foot flat it gave me a smile…so I purchased on the spot.
Why do so few SUVs tuck the rear wiper anyway? Seems like such low-hanging fruit for improving a vehicle... You mention it in nearly every video where the vehicle has a rear wiper, and other people mention it all the time as well. Same with gloss black trim... especially on the interior... gloss is almost always a bad choice... it only looks good when the vehicle is new, yet designers keep putting it in.
WRONG! It’s a Swedish brand, owned by a Chinese company. Everything is Swedish from design to engineering to marketing. Mine was made and assembled in Sweden, although they do have assembly plants all over the world including America.
An overall weak effort from the swedes. Looks blade inside and out. The engine sound under full acceleration is cheap cheap cheap. Much better choices for $10k less.
Disappointing car and dated design. The small integrated infotainment system has poor resolution and looks like something out of 2014, should be iPad style like most cars these days.
Volvo. B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L cars. Wanna stand out? Get this over the Audi Q5. Everyone has that silly vehicle. I would however look at the hybrid. 405HP. I have a xc40 T5 Inscription - more or less the same HP. You'll enjoy the boost on a heavier car like this.
But change cruise control to speed limiter, drive mode, turn on wireless charger, fold headrests, switch steering feel and so many more functions don’t work with the voice control. If they were going to go for no buttons at least map all the features to the voice control. Also voice control doesn’t work when you have no signal just says ‘sorry I can’t process that right now’ so you have to rely on the touch screen. Add into this that we still have a physical button on the steering wheel that doesn’t have any function mapped to it just to really rub it in. Seriously lazy or flawed implementation of this from Volvo. It is the biggest gripe that I have with my car that it lacks buttons for basic functions and the voice control is rubbish or not even available for what you want it to do.
B stands for let's of budget! 😢 I stopped purchasing Volvo once I found out it was Chinese Own. Welcome to how you can cut the corns model 😢😢😢😢 you can tell from every feature of how they have cut down 😢😢😢😢😢 even the hood looked like it was going to fold like cheap paper. 😅😅😅😅
Hey, Joe. Since you mention it during so many posts I actually have a comment about the rear window wiper placement. This wood trim is absolutely stunning! Thank you so much for letting me discover such a nice interior. (From Japan)
I am grateful that I can share it with you!
From the itricate styling of the plush Karmör leather seats, to the subtle grain of Fjädrar fine wood panels, the partnership with IKEA has been a wonderful improvement to the entire Volvo lineup! And it only takes minutes to install yourself. All the hardware is included in the box!
Thanks Joe. Great job and beautiful camera work from Steven as always!
This crossover looks fantastic. That exterior color is awesome. I dig the fact that this is Swedish and sort of a counter to the German competition. Volvo has always been an interesting brand to me.
Good to know that if you get hit by a 4,000 pound Volvo, it has a soft engine cover.
Since no one plays with NERF footballs these days they had to find an excuse to use that material elsewhere.
Volvo XC60 has always been a solid mid-size SUV, but at $65k+ out the door with a turbo 4-banger only at 250ish HP, the lack of value proposition is glaring.
100% agreed, I'd rather get a X5
The one in the video is completely specced out. They start at $47k. Also, for $58k, you can get the hybrid version with 455hp.
I guess if the engine is the only thing you care about then yea, a volvo suv wouldn't be your thing. They've essentially just made a good enough engine that feels sporty in their sedans, and peppy in their larger vehicles.

we hve the 2024 volvo xc60 and we love it
our volvo xc60 is the hybrid version with 455bhp
also its the ultimate version
I’m with you Joe!! French onion dip sounds great!! Love your channel!!!
I had French onion dip with chips the other day.😊
Volvos look different than any other car, suv or wagon, which is a very good thing, and the position of the rear wiper is Volvo’s way of doing things. And I like it.
That said, I wish the XC60 was available in bright trim with the B6 power train in the U.S.
What I like about Volvo's is that if I go into a ditch after being at the bar all day, I know I'll be safe.
lmfaoooo sure bro, u try that
@senoow4215 Already tested
I have volvo Polestar D5. It is very comfortable and unique. I like this one more than my previous AUDI.
Love it 💕
Joe and Lori and Steve keep up the good work real true and I love the video 💯
Nice looking small SUV. I agree, hide that back wiper. I really like the wheels 😊

Thanks for sharing that great ownership input Mike!
Agree 100%. Feel the same. Also, this car is definitely a sleeper which is great.
Love my 2025 XC 60 T8
It’s a Beautiful SUV. But the AC comment, absolutely cracked me up 😂
Love these cars. Super comfortable on trips. Safe and tasteful.
I like it but I honestly prefer the wagon they sell.
Hi Joe! Been a long time since I saw your videos..
Hey Joe, what's the one brand you're looking forward to the most for the LA Auto Show this year?
Who would have thought you could get blown away in a Volvo. ;)
The fender flares only come with those 22” wheels. 👍
Can you start laying down in the back to see how the camping experience is? I love car camping.
I do love the Volvo XC60 I feel like it looks super cool with those awesome lines and you know that you've made it when you are driving a swedish car. I dig the fake fence on the corners I feel like without them you'll just see too much body color and that would just look rather boring
Wait. Is Frenchy's back open? Had a burger at the Clearwater Beach location 20 years ago and NEED to go back lol
Love the cornering and comfort of the XC60. I thought Volvo was only making hybrids and electrics for 2025 and beyond?
You're right. Rear windshield needs to go
great videos !! how you lost some weight??
This has Swedish fish candy storage instead of twinkies ?
🤣🤣
I am not so sure, but I do like both!
I would have liked to see how easy or difficult the back seats are to fold down.
I must admit. Though I miss the days of the 5 cylinder turbo, the 2 liter 4 cylinder turbo is not a bad motor. Still can be fun and peppy.
You want to have horsepower and fun to drive? Try the turbo AND supercharged combo engine in the “dynamic” mode. Not sure what they call it now, but, it used to be the T6.
Great review 👍 Could you please confirm the colour….Thanks
I would definitely consider Volvo, especially the sedans and wagons, if there was a Volvo dealer anywhere near me. I’m between MKE and CHI and the closest dealers are more than 1 hour away.
HP and torque is not good for a $68k suv. Needs at least 300hp plus. $68k is good for the T8 plug in tho
I have a 2017 xc60 and it has 305 or 310 (not 100% sure) HP, yeah 255 sounds like Volvo is going backwards
@cyclewise6926 Yes, those are the B6, I believe. I think they did away of those.
@@Joe-eg7ml It was the T6, but yeah those are gone
Top motor 👌
Great looking volvo

I don’t think it’s worth 70k but I love the wheels and chocolate seats. 😍
They do look so really good!
2.0 liter for 70k! ...very sad.
Very nice auto.

Denim Blue
T8 would be a better choice 👍
This is very true!
That color is phat
Thanks Joe. I prefer my Cadillac XT5 over this. Too bad they are doing away with the XT5 and XT6 for all electric vehicles.
Why does Volvo does not include wireless Apple Car Play?
Hey, Joe beautiful car, however probably needs a v6 engine, and a lower hood struts.😊😊😊.
My T8 is 211 miles old - it’s so quick
I think you might be mixing up the names! The XC60 is actually a Volvo model, not Volkswagen. It’s a compact SUV known for its safety features and stylish design.

You done?
What? Joe didn't mix up anything
2025 Volvo XC60 B5 AWD Ultra Dark Theme!
Did test drive 2022, it was floating vs macan sticks on road. This no nowhere near to macan. I think its very simialr to lexus compact suv
Tough sell to pay that for contest days. Will probably sell for 20k less if you buy used with 18,000 miles on it.
lol I thought you were being paid to answer the question in the title. At the end you ask all the people who haven’t reviewed them?
Interface looks so outdated especially for that price. I did like the style and that color looked awesome.
I don’t like the rear lights at all. The Porsche overall looks a lot better to me.

Seriously better then a Porsche
The one factor that gives me heartache is Volvo’s parent company, Geely.
At least they gave Volvo free reign on everything.
Almost 70K with less than 300 HP. lol Love how it looks though.
The T8 has 455 hp (if that’s your jam) and can be had in the low-mid $50K range in the US, with incentives.
Funny thing: you can now pick up the fully loaded 2020-2021 for 18-22k. Go figure. I like this. Definitely not worth 68kn

Don't you believe in using turn signals?!
That’s an Ultra version
68k for that? This must be a joke. I would use that money on a Genesis
No of course it isn’t. Beyond the seats and sheer space it has nothing on a Porsche.
Volvo has gotten tinny in recent years. Not like the industrial strength product of years past. Cheers
69k for this Volvo 😂😂😭✌🏿
An overall weak effort from the swedes. Looks blade inside and out. The engine sound under full acceleration is cheap cheap cheap. Much better choices for $10k less.
Disappointing car and dated design. The small integrated infotainment system has poor resolution and looks like something out of 2014, should be iPad style like most cars these days.
What is that infotainment? Why does it take Volvo 10 years to update a car ?
That is an excellent question.
Sparse dealer network, expensive service/repairs.
