Classic from my childhood. I loved this movie growing up. I love the music and the characters. I enjoyed this movie a lot. It was a fun film.

I love how insane and unhinged Gary Oldman played Ruber in this even if Lord Shen is a better villain and I love the dragon song "If I Didn't Have You" as well.
"One day, that sword will be in my hand" Epic foreshadowing considering he attached it to his hand.
So i am today years old when I found out Ruber is Gary Oldman. I’ve seen this movie a MILLION times since I was a kid and NEVER put it together until you said it. Now I can’t unhear it lol

Its funny. Because i found out from Oldman character from Harry Potter(Sirius Black). I heard tones of Ruber in his character. Was shocked it was Oldman😂
I love this movie so much. Ruber is played by Gary Oldman who was completely drunk while recording his lines but it works for the character
The Prayer became very popular because of this underrated film. I have heard that song performed by Celine Dion and either Josh Groban or Andrea Boucelli
Pentatonix has a great version of it as well.
The prayer was written for this movie. I find it so funny that many people don’t know this fact and see it as this amazing masterpiece (which it is) but it was written for such a little known animation

Oh I love Quest for Camelot! This is one of my favorite Warner Brothers movies growing up. The story and the music are incredible. And I love the character designs.
Nick stop it. You don't owe anybody any explanation or need to feel any guilt. You deserve time away for whatever you need. Everyone goes through loss and even goes through other painful stuff and it's okay to be in pain. You're a good person and just a person with feelings that matter. And we LOVE you. 💓

Reaching out to anyone about this, even just as an update can be incredibly difficult as I know from my own experiences. I know I had to do the same this year, and I'm still struggling as well but movies help me in a similar way. I think I had even mentioned your videos to my therapist as being one of my favorites to watch when coping (I hope that's not too weird or putting further pressure on you, sorry.) Similarly to you, there's not many people in my life who appreciate animation so much, so seeing you react so authentically every time brings be great comfort. I'm very sorry for your loss, I can imagine how bittersweet this must feel for you.

This is one of my main childhood movies. Even many people who dislike it admit that the songs are awesome! And of course her mother's singing voice is beautiful! It's the one and only Celine Dion after all. And before Lord Shen, Gary Oldman was Ruber. The protagonists are so amazing too! A girl who wants to be a knight, and the fact that we even had a blind main character! How often do you see that? I could keep on rambling about how much I love this movie, but the post is getting long enough as it is 😅

This film is one that I feel gets overlooked by a lot of other animated films. I remember seeing Quest For Camelot in my early teens long after its home media release and over time, it grew on me. It’s not the best animated WB film I’ve seen, but I still enjoy it, especially after rewatching it recently.

From personal experience we all need our own time to grieve, process, think about the why, how, and now, cause losing someone to suicide changes those that were around them. I watched this movie for the "first time" not too long ago. While I was watching it, there was something super familiar about it, I couldn't shake the feeling I had seen this before but couldn't figure out why. Then when she's running through the fields and singing, it hit me.
When I was in daycare, we watched a movie, but I was too little to remember it, only bits and pieces. I had scenes and song lyrics in my head and I couldn't for the life of me figure out what the movie was that I saw. There's a million movies out there, so I just believed I'd never find it. Then I stumbled upon Quest for Camelot as a young adult here on TH-cam and thought it looked interesting only to find out this was the movie I had been searching nearly 20 years for! At last, my search was over!
This is one of my favorite childhood movies, im glad to see someone react to it, its super underrated
I get the depression issues btw, its a rough thing to go thru and live life with but you got this

It was a box office bomb, but i enjoyed it very much.
My heart breaks for you, Nick. If it were physically possible, I'd jump through the screen and give you the biggest hug imaginable. These past few months, I feared the worst for you and just hoped that you were cared for and supported by Cody and the rest of your friends and family. I'm glad these sour days for you are finally almost over and that you're healing more and more every day. I loved this movie so much as a kid it was one of my favorites and im so glad you enjoyed it.
Its definitely one of those movies that could benefit from a remake (done right)
Honestly the way this movie handled disability is amazing especially for its time and that they didnt even show Garret when the healing thing happened and he stayed blind.
Even as a kid I thought his character was awesome and now as a disabled adult who notices bad disabled rep more than i ever would've as a kid, its even better. The little details definitely work in his favor.
But yeah if someone who loved this movie were to give it a remake i would watch it in a second.

Please don't apologize for taking a break or even for not posting updates that much, bc sometimes when you're going through a really difficult time it can be draining to even mention what you're going through to anyone, let alone to a huge audience of people. I'm glad that you're starting to feel a bit better but also no pressure to continue uploading at a quick pace just because you came back now, healing isn't always totally linear. I'm really happy that you enjoyed the movie since it was one of my favorites growing up and it's really nostalgic for me! Fun fact Cary Elwes aka Westley from The Princess Bride voices Garrett, and Gary Oldman aka Sirius Black in the Harry Potter movies voices Ruber :)

I'm so sorry for your loss Nick. It's absolutely okay to take time off when you need it, and you can only be vocal about so much, you know? There's more to life than working, even when the job is fun, and especially when you need to recover.
Like others have said, don't feel bad about doing what you need to do, though I know that's easier said than done. I'm still learning that myself, and I've seen others disappear for very long periods of time, and still have a loving community to come back to. Those who are here to see you and your energy as you enjoy reacting to movies, and not those demanding their daily dose of entertainment, will understand, and stick around no matter how long you're gone for.
I'm afraid to comment on reactions usually, because I worry I'll either ramble or say the same things over and over, but I'd also like to say (since I haven't really before for that reason) I very much enjoy your reactions, as well as the ones with Cody for SpongeBob, Friends, and some other movies.

Speaking as someone who has wrestled with mental health for... genuinely the majority of my life, I can unequivocally say that I respect the struggle. Over the last decade, through a toxic situation that I let myself get too deep into, and ignored the warning signs of, I... lost a lot of myself. Things are improving for me now, and I am rebuilding myself. That doesn't make the darkness any better... but there is a way back to the light. Just know that you are loved, you are valued, and you are appreciated. I know that I very much enjoy getting to share in your reactions to these movies and shows... the sense of wide-eyed wonder that you bring to the table is just delightful to watch!
So happy to see you here again, as someone who knows at least a little what you might be going through, I had a feeling you needed a more substantial mental health break. Don’t feel forced to show up, just know if we’ve been sending prayers and good vibes your way in the interim! And for all those moments that you’re with us, know we cherish them immensely!

Grew up watching this and love it and Garrett is an awesome character and is why i grew up respecting blind people also stay strong man
I know this film has gotten a lot of hate and been called out as an attempt at copying the Disney Renaissance but I'll always have a soft spot for it - this along with Anastasia and Prince of Egypt are probably my favorite non-Disney 2D animated films from that era. Also, its soundtrack is INSANE

I watched quest for camelot for the first time at 21 and this movie will always have a place in my heart forever.
First of all, I’m sorry about you losing your friend to suicide, and you going through a tough time because of that. Praying for you during this difficult time that you’re going through.
Second, thank you so much for reacting to this one. I would also give this one a 9/10. Yeah, Kayley, and Garrett’s relationship could have been developed a little more, and Ruber didn’t seem quite as menacing as maybe Shen, who was also voiced by Gary Oldman. Anyway, I also loved the songs, especially the instrumental part of “United We Stand” at the beginning of this film, and the songs overall. My favorite songs were definitely”United We Stand”, “On My Father’s Wings”, “The Prayer”, and “I Stand Alone”. And yeah, the animation was very good too.

I love this movie, childhood, and I'm so glad someone's reacting to it. It can be goofy at times, but it has such a good heart, and I love Kaylee and Garreth 😁
I first fell in love with the soundtrack (my father would often randomly buy and gift me audio cassettes) and listened to it over and over and it was my introduction to Steve Perry (which eventually lead me to Journey) - I love his rendition of "I stand alone". And my parents were happy to play it in the car, because of Andrea Bocelli's "The Prayer". When I started taking piano lessons, I bought a booklet of sheet music from the film.
It took me a few years, but I was eventually able to get it on DVD and while it's by no means perfect (there are definite issues with the pacing/storytelling and some characters, i.e. blade-beak that the film would have been better without), there's still such a charm to it.
Also, don't feel bad about having to take care of yourself and your mental health. Your well-being always comes first, so don't apologize, and sorry for your loss.
