King Candy turning out to be Turbo was one of the best twists ever. Plenty of subtle hints, and he gets plenty of time to be evil before hand. It's all perfectly written.
@@DanGamingFan2406 especially cause it wasnt a twist villain. We knew he was evil. We just didnt know who he was. It’s masterful writing on that. Where as now it’s more “oh that guy was evil” where Turbo is “KING CANDY WAS TURBO”
I was actually tricked by his idea of why he wanted to stop Vanellope, but maybe I'm just slow, lol. The subtlest(and my favorite)bit was when Ralph teases him for liking pink, only for him to insist it's salmon before changing the subject. The castle matches Vanellopes princess dress.
I never caught any of the hints, I was so surprised the first time. But with Candy's line "I'm not against her, I'm trying to protect her!" I was sooo suspicious of him 😅
There are way way too many twist villains in disney and it's so tiring because it's so obvious. This is one of the few good ones because it isn't a true "twist villain"
Fun fact: With the parts with Bowser, Nintendo was basically behind Disney's shoulders to make sure they have every detail on Bowser just right, down to how he holds his drink. That's Nintendo for you. Another fun fact: The reason why Mario's not in the movie was because he was too big of an icon to figure out what to do for a cameo.
They could've had him cameo with Sonic just like in Roger Rabbit when they had Daffy Duck and Donald Duck fighting with pianos and Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny skydiving together
@@lexramstudios1386 Well for one, during the 30th anniversary party, Felix could've walked past Mario, given him a compliment, like "Looking good, Mario!" And Mario could say "Thank a-You so much! Wahoo!" And have Charles Martinet come in to say that one line. 2) He could be a silent cameo and just be seen walking around the Game Central Station. 3) He and Sonic could be at the party having some refreshments.
@ivanbutler5772 For me, I would have both Sonic and Mario characters share the screentime together like Bowser and Eggman 1. Mario and Sonic can share screentime in that PSA Sonic did about trying not to die outside of their own games 2. Luigi and Tails can just be in the background or hang out with Sonic and Mario 3. The Princesses and Female Sonic characters like Amy and Rouge can also be in the background, hang out, and talk with each other
The video game references are very clever, and the characters are very likeable. I wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it is. It’s not a movie that just focuses on video game references. It actually has a lot of heart to it. Ralph is a bad guy in a video game but is actually a nice guy outside of it. Given his relationship with Vanellope, he really cares about her and wants to protect her. Wreck-it Ralph is amazing.
There are hints sprinkled throughout the movie of King Candy's true identity 1. King Candy is the only character (aside from Felix and the Nicelanders) who recognizes Ralph upon seeing him. This is because Turbo's game used to be right next to Ralph's game, making them next door neighbors in the technical sense 2. When Ralph comments on how pink the throneroom is, King Candy replies "It's salmon" before redirecting the conversation. This is supposed to hint that he's not the true owner of the castle as pink is a color associated with little girls rather than old men and the people who made Sugar Rush were probably aware of that when designing the room 3. When King Candy finds Ralph with the intention of manipulating him, Ralph is (understandably) hostile towards him. King Candy is actually scared for his life in this scene. The reason is highlighted twice within the movie. Sonic states "If you die outside your game, you don't regenerate". Ralph accidentally kills Felix at the party, but he regenerates in a matter of seconds in the same spot he died in. If King Candy was actually a part of Sugar Rush, he'd have no reason to fear Ralph attacking him because the exact same thing would have happened to him if he was
You brought up some good hints but, I notcied a few of my own. 1. King Candy's design doesn't look like any of the other Sugar Rush racers, who are all children. 2. King Candy & Turbo have a similar voice & speach patterns (and it's not just because they have the same voice actor, it was an intentional clue, most likely.) 3. When Vanellope uses Ralph's medal to enter the race, the other racers obviously aren't happy about it sure, but King Candy is noticably more agitated.
@@badboyluvr some other hints I have noticed myself 1. relates to your first one, its not King Candy being an old guy and not a child...its the fact he's cartoonish, the other racers are more anime-style 2. the announcer for King Candy's name is higher in pitch, compared to other racers...as if it was somebody trying to mimic the announcer's voice 3. the simplistic nature of his name...the other racers have very pun-themed names
@@xxmension04xx47 Another one (I'd say) is that he is shown to be able to manipulate the game's code, which is how he took over in the first place. The way the program works, he should have had no need for that kind of power.

The most depressing thing I just realized about Calhoun is that despite the fact that her trauma is very real and affects her deeply, the fact that it's only a backstory that's been programmed into her implies that it never happened, that her husband and her wedding never existed in the actual game cabinet, and that they're only memories programmed into the heads of all the residents of Hero's Duty. So imagine knowing that the love of your life who tragically died before you was never real, but the trauma you have from it very much is ._. Also remember how cybugs turn into what they eat, including people? If that cybug ate her husband, then does that mean that Calhoun was forced to kill a cybug with her husband's face?
I never thought of that before! I always saw that as kind of funny/sad since it was "pre-made in her", so to speak, but I never thought about it as an illusion, or her basically killing her husband. Now I don't find it so funny anymore.
The reason to King Candy's (Turbo) transformation from the Cy-Bug is because like earlier on it was said that Cy-Bugs become what they eat, If they eat guns they'll grow those, If they eat candy they change colours and after the Cy-Bug ate King Candy, It morphed him into a type of Turbo Cy-Bug virus.

I like this movie, it shows the story from the bad guy’s perspective. Ralph is a very good guy. ❤ Also, I like the chemistry between Calhoun and Felix, they’re so cute together.
the chanting Oreos are a reference to the Wizard of Oz (the 1939 movie) where the Wicked Witch of the West's guards are in the same formation (and marching) and chanting the phrase "Oh-we-ho, yo-ho", which sounds a lot like 'O-re-o, ohh-oh'.
early in my stage acting career, I was chosen so many times to play the role of the villain. after a while it started to bother me, the same way Ralph felt about being the bad guy all the time. but, I eventually had my Wreck-It Ralph moment, years before the movie was even written, and I learned that playing the villain in a production gave me the chance to really act! I figured that since I am a good guy in real life, playing the role of a hero in a production just wouldn't be as good. People who knew me first, when they saw my performances on stage, they were really surprised at how I played those roles. And then other people, who knew me after seeing any of my villain performances, when I would get a comedic role, because of my reputation of playing villains, made those characters even funnier than the writers intended... Wreck-It Ralph really resonated with me because we were so parallel to experiences.
Even without the story of the movie. The story of Ralphs actual game is that his home, a tree stump, was moved to a dump to make way for the apartments. It’s a pretty good reason to get mad
That button sequence King Candy does to access the game code is what's called the Contra/Konami Code. If you do that specific order, you get 30 lives for your character at the start of the game. Alternatively if you hit select at the end, you can also do it for player 2.
As someone who has played countless video games throughout the 90s and 2000s. THIS movie became nostalgia overload! Wreck-It Ralph didn’t just have an interesting story, but it also served as a tribute to old school gamers.
I like the fan theory that Vanellope's glitch evolving into teleportation is a manifestation of her rubber-band AI from being a boss racer (rubber-band AI in some racing games keep the opponents directly behind you closer to you than they should otherwise be if you're racing perfectly)
King Candy being Turbo is a plot twist everyone should have seen coming…But almost no one did…And we all felt like idiots after the reveal😅 Edit: I think the reason most didn’t consider the possibility was because of how they treated Turbo’s tale. Instead of focusing on the fact that Turbo was “never seen again” the characters in this world focus more on Turbo’s mistake. Turbo is treated more like a cautionary tale. One of which sounded like it ended in a complete failure. So for most everyone we just accepted that Turbo was gone and only brought up to set the moral code of the other characters….Therefore we didn’t feel the need to look for him so to speak😂And in that way he was able to hide under our noses just as well as he did hiding in Sugar Rush all those years ago
I was too old to have be part of the video game arcade generation, so the story drew me in. The Heroes Journey of the characters in this movie makes this a must re-watch whenever another TH-cam viewer discovers this animated gem.;)
YES!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE RECK IT RALPH!! I was wondering, "huh, Nick would love this movie, I wonder if he's seen it in his own time" a while back when looking for reactions to it! One of my childhood favorites! *OH and the scene with the go-cart destroyed is heart breaking! My god the voice acting is what really sells it! Tears me up every time.* The short film it had on its DVD called "Paper airplane" it's one of my favourite short films ever. I'm so happy you enjoyed it!
Heh, yeah Tapper was an old arcade game. At one time it was sponsored by Budweiser and you served beer to bar patrons. The game at the time was mostly found in bars and bowling alleys. Eventually, to spread the game more, it was rebranded as "Root Beer Tapper" abd you served root beer instead.
I can’t believe it!!! Aaaaa I used to look it up to see if you watched this movie when i would binge watch your channel like 2 years ago and I never knew why you didn’t watch it since it seems like a movie you’d really enjoy!! It’s one of my favorites of all time!!
Apparently, for the bad guy speech scene where Ralph is dropping, the animator pulled back from personal emotional moments about his own lost friend and for who he was doing stuff for. He made his own recorded acting to reference
One of my fave Disney movies ever, especially as video game lover. They did an amazing both in creating the characters, their world and their "work" when we play them😊😊
Hello Nick! Glad to see you’re doing well! It’s always a pleapleasure to watch your movies reaction, you’re so into the movies’s story, always natural reaction And enjoyment!
Call me crazy, but I feel like there is a deeper motive to this movie than just the whole “there is no one I would rather be than me” kinda thing. I feel like it really teaches us that when life gets you down or if you’re in a miserable situation, you should get up and do something about it. Because you saw how Ralph and Vanellope’s lives both got better when they decided to get off there butts and do something about their situations, even though doing so rattled a few chains and caused a few issues. I don’t know if I’m making any sense but that is something I feel like this movie taught me, that instead of sitting there and waiting for your problems to be solved, you got take a leap and solve them yourself.
Watch the Ant Bully, a really forgotten animated movie that "no one remembers" except for those who grew up with this movie, one of my favorite animated movies
Glad to see you back, Nick! If you're ever feeling like engaging with more content about this universe on your off time, there's a video here on TH-cam from like 2 weeks ago called "Disney's GREATEST Modern Villain: A Turbo/King Candy Analysis" which I thought was just wonderful and really made me appreciate the details the animators put in so much! Also, btw, have you seen The Sixth Sense? 💕
Ooh, glad you enjoyed the movie, its my favorite disney movie! Also, the twist of King Candy being Turbo was like top tier writing, it left everyone surprised!
An amazing movie I finally gave a chance at watching, it's about my favorite type of games: Video plus the bond between Ralph and Vanellope is simply adorable 💕🎮🤣🎥
Yeah, Nick. I was 10 years old when this movie came out and as a kid who loves video games and animated films, this was pretty much eye candy to me. Get it? Being older, I understood the struggles that both Ralph and Vanellope were going through. In that time, I too was struggling to be with everybody to, at least, make some friends. I realized that because I could be never be in their world, I gave up and decided to go it alone. Honestly, that was the best decision I ever made since I minded my own business, did everything right and along the way, there were people who noticed me and as it turns out, they saw me and appreciate for who I am. So, in a way, this one taught me that as long as I stay true to myself, that’s all I’ll ever need. P.S. when Ralph asked her that if she too was living alone with all this garbage, I took a good look at the place and thought, “On the contrary, her hideout is way more decent and cleaner compared to his.” I mean, she has a nice little corner, a wide open space to fool around and since it is an abandoned area, that bonus level is nothing but a forgotten memory and she’s very tricky to catch because no one would even know where to look. In summary, it’s the ultimate sanctuary for introverts everywhere, such as myself.
the twist regarding vanellope and king candy is amazing when you look back at the roster each name is called out in the same...but king candy is said in a higher pitched voice, while vanellope's name is said in a far more excited voice
I could be wrong, but I think the reason she kept getting rabbits instead of toads was Mr Browns fault. He said he got the spells from the old book but he changed a few of the words, moved some around and jazzed it up a bit. So basically he wound up making up his own spell by mistake and it was a turn you to a rabbit spell instead of a toad. If she had bothered looking up the original spell in the book when she got it, she might have actually got a toad. But when she got the book she was focused only on the movement spell.
Grew up watching it and love it love his line as he falls and love the what he say at the end of the movie plus the credits and the song that plays is awesome
One of my fave films- very strong toy story vibes. I knew you’d love it- it’s got everything! The scene where the kart was wrecked was heartbreaking and I’m so glad you didn’t see the turbo reveal coming- that was great! Looking forward to the sequel reaction! 😊
Vaniloppa's scream breaks my heart every time By the way, if you liked sugar rush, maybe you wanted to watch full-length cartoons about tinker bell, fairy Valley is also very beautiful
Very funny, when people mention the villain of this movie, it always feels like it's more so that "nice lander" Glen cause he is the whole reason last push for Ralph leaving his game in the first place. Also a maybe not so fun fact- sense they mentioned it and even showed it- sense the Bugs turn into whatever they eat, during calhouns wedding the bug turned into her husband- so its an oddly messed up interesting detail.
I can't believe there are people who still are just seeing Wreck it Ralph for the first time, I'm glad on your behalf honestly, I LOVE this movie and think it's amazing, and when I was watching it the first times I related SO MUCH to Ralph and Vanellope especially Vanelope and it was literally my comfort through being bullied because I always remembered that Vanellope went through almost the same situation as me and yet she was ultimately revealed as a capable racer and very important to her game and it gave me hope that my story would be the same.
We have three stars From Talladega Nights in this movie. John C.Reilly-Cal naughton jr-Wreck it Ralph Jack McBrayer-Glen-Fix it Felix Jr. Jane Lynch-Ricky Bobby’s mom-Sgt. Calhoun
One of my favorite Disney movies of all time. This was marketed mostly as "Who Framed Roger Rabbit but for video games", and most people went to see the movie for that reason, but that's really only the first 10 minutes of the movie, the rest of it is honestly one of the most touching stories I've seen be told in animated film. Also, that "When Can I See You Again" song from the credits will not leave my head!
There’s a great video by Randomalistic that you should check out about how great of a villain Candy/Turbo is. For me, the last great villain Disney ever had,

early in my stage acting career, I was chosen so many times to play the role of the villain. after a while it started to bother me, the same way Ralph felt about being the bad guy all the time. but, I eventually had my Wreck-It Ralph moment, years before the movie was even written, and I learned that playing the villain in a production gave me the chance to really act!
That's so beautiful. I'm happy you found a character like that. And I hope your acting career is going well. ❤
37:48 Bro I Actually saw nicks tears when he had tears made me cry 😢😢😢😢😢😢
Late to the party here but glad to see you uploading I’ve missed your reactions. Best of luck to you man.
As someone who has played countless video games throughout the 90s and 2000s. THIS movie became nostalgia overload! Wreck-It Ralph didn’t just have an interesting story, but it also served as a tribute to old school gamers.
Hard to believe it's been 12 years.
Yes, exactly what i was thinking
I was nine when this movie came out. It’s so nostalgic 😂 I was obsessed with Sugar Rush and I even had a plush of one of the racers! I still have it 💘
Which one is it? 😍🍭
@@monsterhanna6691 Jubileena Bing-Bing! 🍒♥️ the plush itself is freaking ADORABLE 😍
I like the fan theory that Vanellope's glitch evolving into teleportation is a manifestation of her rubber-band AI from being a boss racer (rubber-band AI in some racing games keep the opponents directly behind you closer to you than they should otherwise be if you're racing perfectly)
King Candy being Turbo is a plot twist everyone should have seen coming…But almost no one did…And we all felt like idiots after the reveal😅
Edit: I think the reason most didn’t consider the possibility was because of how they treated Turbo’s tale.
Tears me up every time.*
The short film it had on its DVD called "Paper airplane" it's one of my favourite short films ever. I'm so happy you enjoyed it!
THANK U, this movie rly deserves a 10/10, I rly love this movie
This is such a good movie, a childhood classic for me! can't wait to watch this reaction!!!
This is one of my absolute favorites! I’m so happy that you decided to watch it!
Apparently, for the bad guy speech scene where Ralph is dropping, the animator pulled back from personal emotional moments about his own lost friend and for who he was doing stuff for. He made his own recorded acting to reference
I memorize this movie by heart since I myself watched it for the first time. Thank you watching “Wreck It Ralph” under my request.
I adore this movie, I ts definitely a comfort movie for me. Always love your reactions :) glad to see you back, hope everything’s good. ❤
Imo this is one of the best animated films ever made
You know it's a good day when Nick makes a new video 🥹🫶✨️
NOW THAT YOU HAVE SEEN THIS ITS TIME TO BREAK THE INTERNET!
the fact that you only have three likes is just sad,
not that I'm making fun of you lol😂
So happy to see you here, Timothee! 😍😍😍
Hi Tim!!!
NO, HE DONT HAVE TO SEE THAT ATROCITY
5:12 I feel like Mario could've had a cameo with Sonic at that part
I guess Nintendo didn't feel confident enough to allow their mascot in the film.
This movie is too amazing, seriously one of the best world building movies!
I love your enthusiasm for the worldbuilding!😁
As ernt though bullied inside middle school i love this moive ar it cheers me up ❤
Call me crazy, but I feel like there is a deeper motive to this movie than just the whole “there is no one I would rather be than me” kinda thing.
I grew up with it.
Oh my gosh after I watched the ant bully I put jellybeans in the yard for the ants
When you react to the sequel, don't forget there is two after credits scenes.
Man the way how king candy/turbo manipulated ralph to not let vanellope race is the best ive seen from disney yet...
38:00 I teared so hard that scene 😢
Same 😢
That was an awful betrayal 😟
@@springheartedtiger same, it really broke me 😭
I don't really remember my first reaction to this movie because I was so young but I'm sure that I felt that way too 😢
Glad to see you back, Nick!
Also, the twist of King Candy being Turbo was like top tier writing, it left everyone surprised!
a very underrated movie, but so "real" in its messages to both kids and adults!
An amazing movie I finally gave a chance at watching, it's about my favorite type of games: Video plus the bond between Ralph and Vanellope is simply adorable 💕🎮🤣🎥
One of my favorite movies and I’m so glad I got to watch your reaction. Amazing as always! Cant wait for the sequel reaction too! ❤
Your posts always make me happy. I’m so excited to see you reacting to this! I hope you enjoy it.
In summary, it’s the ultimate sanctuary for introverts everywhere, such as myself.
the twist regarding vanellope and king candy is amazing when you look back at the roster
each name is called out in the same...but king candy is said in a higher pitched voice, while vanellope's name is said in a far more excited voice
Great reaction Nick! The company I work for sponsored the red carpet event at this movie's premiere. We make maraschino cherries 😂.
Grew up watching it and love it love his line as he falls and love the what he say at the end of the movie plus the credits and the song that plays is awesome
Omg im so happy you are reacting to this! I love ur vids n this movie 🥹
One of my fave films- very strong toy story vibes. I knew you’d love it- it’s got everything! The scene where the kart was wrecked was heartbreaking and I’m so glad you didn’t see the turbo reveal coming- that was great! Looking forward to the sequel reaction! 😊
Vaniloppa's scream breaks my heart every time
By the way, if you liked sugar rush, maybe you wanted to watch full-length cartoons about tinker bell, fairy Valley is also very beautiful
This was a great movie & I liked Ralph & Vanellope's friendship.
One of my favorite animated movies, love your reactions! ❤
i love the king candy turbo reveal
It can be, and fuck the bullies! I hope you're doing okay and you got this! ❤
@@monsterhanna6691 thank you!!!!!!! 💜
We have three stars From Talladega Nights in this movie.
John C.Reilly-Cal naughton jr-Wreck it Ralph
Jack McBrayer-Glen-Fix it Felix Jr.
Jane Lynch-Ricky Bobby’s mom-Sgt. Calhoun
The king returns! I missed you, Nick!
I’m gonna watch the entire video, your reactions make me smile every time ❤
One of my favorite Disney movies of all time.
Expectation: Video Game References Galore!
Reality: Dessert Puns Galore!
19:43 That sour ball's situation and Maurice from Madagaskar's situation are excatly the same, ı think.
Oh my goodness, you have NO idea how much I've missed your reactions!
The scene where Ralph destroys Vanellope’s car is one of the most heartbreaking in cinematic history as far as I’m concerned.
Also how Sarah Silverman expressed Vanellope’s grief in her voice was just perfect
There’s a great video by Randomalistic that you should check out about how great of a villain Candy/Turbo is. For me, the last great villain Disney ever had,
One of my favorite movies I love
To me, I find Wreck-It Ralph very nostalgic to me
Such a well-written and clever movie! I'm so happy that you enjoyed it so much. ❤
I don't know if you're taking requests or not, but Netflix's Ultraman Rising is a spectacular and heartfelt animated movie. It will make you laugh as well as bring you to tears. Great reaction! Glad you're back!
Definitely Check out some of the older Disney movies like fox and the hound and great mouse detective
He already seen those
I love this movie. The second one is just as good to me
Sonic and eggman has the best cameo
Am so glad you decided to watch one of my personal favorite Disney movie
Oh snap this is going to be epic
