Can you focus on E-road bikes that festure the TQ motor. I have been riding e-road and e-gravel bikes since 2019. Lately, manufacturers have “ lumped “ gravel and road into one bike. I would prefer a separate road( tarmac) and gravel ( non-tarmac surfaces). I am at the older end of avid cyclists at 76 years old. I use the power assistance for steep, long hill climbing to help manage my cardiovascular requirements. Only need the assisted power of class 3- max 28 mph when my younger friends want to ramp up speed on the flats.
I would like to see a blend of costs savings with choice of mechanical vs electronic shifting, medium price carbon frames and carbon wheels.
Would love to read your thoughts. Thank you…..
Speed at which the power cuts out needs to be increased - like it is in the US. 15.5mph for a road bike seems pointless. Class 3 28mph would be more like it.
Totally agree, my Creo is pointless, I am faster on my 1980s steel framed touring bike, it is unused now and will be sold, total waste of money
These e-bikes are hideously expensive. Bike manufacturers really need to bring down the cost of these bikes. Or someone else will do it for them.
These videos are always very well written.
The much less expensive aluminum version of the Trek Domane+ also has a different motor which is a hub motor. Instead of the TQ mid-drive motor. So it’s not just the different frame material accounting for the very significant difference in price.
Yes, the TQ mid-drive is a much more desirable motor.
The specialized Creos are just more bike for your money than the Domane+ series. You can't even get a mid-drive Domane+ until 8K.
@@Gamebreaker08 what is intrinsically better about a mid-drive vs. rear hub motor?
I saw an aluminum version of the Domane at the bike shop. It is quite heavy. Can’t imagine pedalling without the motor. I rented a bike with a rear hub motor on a trip and it throws off the weight balance a bit. In corners the weight in the rear wheel is definitely noticeable. It’s odd. Not my favourite. On a straight line or uphill the rear hub motor was fine.
@@francestyrrell6135 I have a hub drive VOLT PULSE and one of these Creos, the VOLT makes sense and I really like it, the Creo makes no sense for me at all, so hub drive bikes have their place, in the UK with a 15mph limit, a fast road style mid drive bike offers me no advantages over a standard road bike because even though it has a motor, its heavier and the motor is rarely needed, the hub drive VOLT almost drives itself and is great for shopping and general commuting and can be ridden in any clothing with a carrier, lights, kickstand, mudguards etc, hub drive bikes are also DIY repairable, so they have their advantages
Since e-bikes are not UCI legal, the manufacturers don't have to stick to the standard frame shape?
The only e-bike that interests me is the cargo bike.
Are the batteries for eRoad bikes replaceable at EOL?
Yes
Title should be, "eBikes you can't afford!"
@17:12 Acoustic! That don't sound right.
😂
wtf is an acoustic bike?
😂 it’s what these guys call a regular un-motorized bicycle…to be funny I guess…
Lol - one moment he's saying analogue the next acoustic!!
When it comes to bikes, he's brain so anti digital, it's fallen to bits!
A road bike with a Bell

Actually if you are a UK rider and reasonably fit these are useless, I am constantly above the 15mph assist limit and its just a heavier bike, I have stopped using it and gone back to a standard bike and I am faster, if you ride it unassisted you are still wearing the bearings in the £1000 motor, wheras a standard bottom bracket is £30 tops I will be selling my Creo soon, after a 50 mile ride I am using 12% of the battery and the expensive range extender was a total waste of money. In the first 6 months the TCU (the control panel that bluetooths and boots up the bike) has failed twice under warranty. I am selling it while it has warranty, unless you are very unfit, dont bother, but it gives the bike press something new to rave about I suppose
Quite informative, but why is everyone talking like this on videos? Does my head in, I couldn't watch it all the way through, ha.
They not sale road bikes. They sale motorcycles with options to pedalling
Correct. It's sick that people want to replace the bicycle with these things.
They are pedal assist. That means the rider always has to pedal to get assistance. Unlike a motorcycle there is no throttle to make the bike go forward without any rider involvement.
