I wish I knew about this plugin yesterday! I was using a Shopify plugin to embed our product collections into listicles/blog post, using the HTML div tags it generated. I had to select options and get each html tag per collection 1 by one, to use in a GPT prompt (if that makes sense!) I was using Excel and pasting the raw HTML into it. But I wanted to extract just the collection IDs for reference and alter the formats to experiment with the layours, and to edit and test different embed options etc.
*Sighs* long story long (sorry), your plugin would have saved me hours of time! Wow it really achieves everything I wished was possible.
This is such a useful plugin it's gonna be a game changer, so thank you for the future countless hours that it is going to save.

Great tool, is there a fix on your side for the "too many exceed maximum errors" on longer content? Not sure if it is coming from OpenAI or your extension, but I do not get that many errors using python doing the same task.

The easiest way is to avoid that problem is to upgrade to a paid openai account. They are throttling free trial accounts pretty hard as can be seen here: gptforwork.com/tools/openai-api-response-time-tracker
We will roll out an update soon that fixes it on our side.

Hi, this is fantastic. I'm curious if there is a way to have gpt clean up open hours for restaurants from a cell that might have something like this: "closed Mon; 11:30a-3:00p & 5:00p-9:30p Tu-Th; 11:30a-3:00p & 5:00p-10:30p Fri; 12:30-10:30p Sat; 12:00p-9:30p Sun". I've done 14 examples so far and gpt does not seem to be able to figure it out. I'm not a coder, so I'm not sure if there are any other tricks to incorporate.

    1. **Prompt**: This is the initial input text you provide to the model. It's essentially a question or a statement that guides the model on what you want it to generate. The model uses this prompt as a starting point and continues the text in a way that's consistent with the prompt's context and style.
    2. **Value**: This term is not commonly used as a standalone parameter in the context of GPT settings. It might refer to the specific value of another parameter, or possibly it's being used in a specific application's context. If you meant "values" in the sense of data provided to the model, it would still typically be part of the "prompt".
    3. **Temperature**: This controls the randomness of the output generated by the model. A higher temperature results in more random outputs, which can be useful for generating creative or varied text. A lower temperature makes the model's outputs more deterministic and repetitive. A temperature close to 0 makes the model almost always choose the most likely next word, while a higher temperature (closer to 1) encourages diversity in the generated text.
    4. **Model**: This refers to the specific version or configuration of the GPT model you are using. Different versions of the model (like GPT-3, GPT-4, etc.) have been trained on different datasets or for different lengths of time, which affects their performance and capabilities. Within a particular version, there might also be different sizes of the model (measured in the number of parameters) that offer a trade-off between computational cost and the ability to generate high-quality text.
    5. **Max Tokens**: This parameter specifies the maximum length of the generated text measured in tokens. A token can be a word or part of a word, so the actual length in words can vary. Setting a higher max tokens limit allows the model to generate longer responses, while a lower limit restricts it to shorter texts.

You can include columns that are unnecessary, otherwise you probably have to reorder them temporarily, as GPT_FILL currently doesn't support ignoring some intermediate columns.

    • @gptforwork
      @gptforwork  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Dennis,
If your prompt is large (200+ words) and you're expecting a long answer as well, you will need to increase the max_tokens parameter.
However, Sheets functions require a response in less than 30 seconds, so unfortunately for longer prompts or responses, OpenAI's response doesn't come quickly enough. We are going to work on another mode of interaction (via a sidebar) which will not suffer from the same limitation.
In the meantime, I advise to use values of max_tokens lower than 500. You can play around with values.
Otherwise, you can also use our Google Docs integration, which easily handles big prompts and answers (up to 4000 tokens in total per request)
      Hope that helps

Great stuff, especially that piece. My question is focused on whether machine learning (-> AI should learn the style of my texts and generate a new text from it) is also possible with ChatGPT/Google Sheets.
After learning the basics, I want to go to the next level. The artificial intelligence should learn from existing texts with the help of machine learning and generate texts in a similar way.
That this works has been proven by the "normal" ChatGPT (she answers: "If you provide me with one or more speeches, I can try to generate a similarly worded speech").
That means in the chat corresponding texts can be fed iteratively (Ex: "I provide you with several speeches, so that you can generate a formulated speech in a similar way. Here is text 1! [Content] (...) Here is text 2 [Content] (...)! Here is text 3! [Content] (...)").
It is theoretically only a technical question to implement this in Google Sheets as well (Task: "Write a speech". Tone: "In terms of style, it should be as similar as possible to [line speech 1] and [line speech 2] in comprehensibility, precision, and eloquence.")
Is this the right approach or do I have a thinking error? Can Google Sheets do this (synchronicity of this command in Sheets vs. the step-by-step approach in ChatGPT.
Thanks a million for your assessment!
    David

    • @gptforwork
      @gptforwork  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi David,
You can already "prompt from examples" with GPT_FILL and GPT_TABLE. Then there are two questions:
      - how lengthy are your examples. If you're talking about speeches, it might be too big for those functions for now. If you're talking line by line, then they should definitely work.
      - how many examples you have and how precise you want your output format to be. If you want to train on many (hundreds) of examples to get a very precise output, then a fine-tuned model will work best. It is not yet possible to fine-tune from GPT for Sheets, but will be in the near future. But you can already use an existing fine-tuned model from GPT for Sheets by specifying its name in the model argument.
      Hope that helps

@@gptforwork Yes, that is a helpful classification, thank you!
As for now feeding larger texts (token limit) I came up with a heuristic solution.
In Google Sheets, I divide the text to be analyzed (e.g. a long court decision) into separate parts and copy them into adjacent cells [e.g. a court decision of 20 pages I split into 5 parts: [C20, D20, (...) G20].
At the prompt I do not refer to a line, but an addition ["(...);20:20)"].
Admittedly quite primitive and the disadvantage is the manual chunking, but well it works :)

We are working on a perennial solution that should be out in 3 weeks. In the meantime, here's what you can do:
      - simply retry, it usually works after a few retries
      - set up a paid account on platform.openai.com if you haven't yet (this is unrelated to ChatGPT Plus, which doesn't cover API usage). We've noticed better response times on paid accounts (though it takes 48 hours to get full rate limits) as per platform.openai.com/docs/guides/rate-limits/overview
      - use it outside of US peak hours for better chances
      - use another model (such as text-davinci-003 or text-curie-001)
