I also have an Old Shed which was in bad shape because rotted wood due to water infiltration. I fixed it myself instead of hiring someone or buy a new one. It's a lot of hard word but at the end of day it's worth it for the effort. I also shared videos of how I repaired it.
You can use a simple bottle jack to help lift the shed. You can also utilize leverage (like a see-saw) to elevate/move the shed as needed. 1 4x4 post and some cinder blocks will do. Just need some muscle no tractor needed (but def helps alot!)
A buddy and myself flipped a different shed onto its backside and removed the floor that way and flopped it down onto a new floor. took alot but is doable
I just started a remodel on an 8x8. The flooring isn’t as bad as yours so I just made another subfloor on top of it out of 2x2s. My first structure build. Wish me luck
I used a floor jack to elevate mine. Part of it was so rotted the floor was easy to separate. I’m having trouble on the other side though. The building is insulated and has plywood walls inside. I don’t really wanna tear the inside walls out. I’m thinking of running a sawzall to cut all the nails and screws between floor and wall.
Yay top 676 and top 75 likes and comments. Thanks for posting the video. I have a sad shed that needs some work so I'm watching every video on this topic that I can.
yes bella !me to, no tractor in my future . but thank you so much i would have replaced all my sheeting instead of just cut off the 4 inches up from the bottom !!! great idea and will save about 30-35 dollars a sheet for treated plywood . cant wait to tackle the shed now. also watched the door to shed video and may change this up ... great video ..
Dang, I have a shed I have to repair. Part of the floor needs replaced but I don't think I will replace all of it. My shed was made out of Hardy board for the exterior, it's mostly held. Water got in on part of the floor near the door. I hope I don't have to replace the whole floor, I don't have anything to lift it up.
as many have commented, I was going to replace my T11 half or all. I love the 4" idea. That will save $$$. What is rule of thumb on some kind of critter guard around the shed? some report that you need a cat size opening to keep mice out but I want to keep the possums out.
I believe the tractor gets brought up a lot because that gives people an excuse, so they won’t have to put in the effort. lol And some of the other comments, wow! More power to you sir and keep up the good fight.
If I have a tool at my disposal, why not use it?! this can still be done without a tractor. Use 2x4's and cinder blocks to use as a lever and you can easliy flip it on end. Ya gotta work smarter not harder!
I have an old shed that I want to move and rebuild pretty much same size but I was thinking of putting it on pavers instead of having a wood floor since I'll be welding in it occasionally. But not sure exactly how I'll do that or if it's possible.
Subscribed! Great video. I love the simple application of levers (crowbar and wedge) to remove the bottom. Would the old floor joists be good for upcycled furniture, or are they too rotten?
Tonight it is 2 minutes before midnight and I'm rolling a blunt! Getting ready for tomorrow's adventures of this week's work punch list! you started it off talking about you're doing all of the remodeling on this entire shed demonstrating all of the illustrated problems if you think you're doing it for $100 I'm already upset with you but I will continue to watch this video as it is already 1 minute and 27 seconds into it here we go 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I used barn paint. Last decently long and is super cheap compared to exterior paint. only available in white and red unless you can get them to tint the white. never asked though
Thank's for all the idea's. I've just discovered your channel. Have you ever restored an old " STEEL SHED " with plywood ? It's gonna be my next project in a few day's ! 😎👍
Yes! Thats what most people think, at first. A little TLC goes a long way. Most of the structural parts are fine, it's just the sheathing and aesthetics that need fixed.
I think of time as, instead of vegging out at the TV, I'll spend my time on doing things to benefit my time by fixing/building. Its not a job where I'm expecting to be paid. Its a benefit of time well spent
This video is ridiculous. Only $100 if the shed is away from property, raised AND you have access to a bobcat . Boo this man For those who can't lift the shed away from the base , you will need to cut along the perimeter where the floor meets the base and flush cut it. Side up some joist runners and run new plywood
to buy a new shed like this would have cost between $800-$1000. to build one would have taken 2x longer and been between $300-$400. By just fixing it up a little I saved tons of time and money.
This work is legitimately what I’ve been looking for. Thank you.
Thank you! I'm glad it could help

I was on board until they brought in a tractor! 😂 For those who have tractors please enjoy this. Haha

@@BellaMichel No problem and good luck!
Yep car jack bro it’s in your car
Absolutely beautiful - this give me the inspiration to update my shed. Thank you so much for making this look so easy.👍👍👍👍👍

Good luck! Its very satisfying when completed too

That is what I would try. They make demo blades that work pretty well.
Awesome! All you need is an old shed and $100!! (Tools used in the video not included in the price of reno. Tractor and batteries sold separately)
AWESOME JOB!!! Looks great!!! 👍👍👍

"I’m going to click on all the shed repair videos and comment that they should just build new fucking sheds.” Makes sense.
Haha thanks. Haters gonna hate

The roof looks like it needs replaced too.
its functional, but yes it will be replaced
Very informative. Thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
No prep work before painting?
Thank you brother, good job
thanks!
I have a shed that I want to move to another location in the back yard, any comments on how I can do that without taking apart the shed?
All you need to make this $100 shed remodel work is a $30,000 tractor! :D
If I have a tool at my disposal, why not use it?! this can still be done without a tractor. Use 2x4's and cinder blocks to use as a lever and you can easliy flip it on end. Ya gotta work smarter not harder!
This comment doesn't even make sense... it's not like the went and buy $30,000 tractor to fix a $100 shed. These comment ain't necessary. C mon
I have an old shed that I want to move and rebuild pretty much same size but I was thinking of putting it on pavers instead of having a wood floor since I'll be welding in it occasionally. But not sure exactly how I'll do that or if it's possible.
Unless your welding directly on the wood floor i think you would be ok without the pavers
Great video. I just wish I had a Kuboda to lift with :o)

Thanks, yea too roten
2 minutes 14 seconds now I feel like an idiot because you have excessive ability to exercise this adventure but I'm still watching 👊👊👊👊
Keep it up!
Would you recommend pressure washing before paint?
Yes, it will definitely stick better with all the crud off

No i have not, but it sounds interesting. let me know how you make out
I calculated about 500 in lumber but then I saw this was done in 2019!
Haha, oh how prices have jumped!
Awesome 😎
Thanks!
Got a real lady there bubba
Sure do!
What did it cost to remodel
I think we spent less than $50 on new lumber that needed replaced
Fixing up old shed? That thing looks like a demo project. At least at first glance it does.
Yes! Thats what most people think, at first. A little TLC goes a long way. Most of the structural parts are fine, it's just the sheathing and aesthetics that need fixed.
What does 16 in centers mean?
16 inches apart
Waiting on doors
Me too Bella Michel😆🤣😂
like i mentioned to Bella, it can be done without a tractor by using leverage with2x4's and a fulcrum point.
I need your help doing mine ill pay you can do much but ill help too lol
