The Glastonbury St George Mummers Play

Mummers Plays are traditional English folk theatre shows, often performed by amateur casts on Holy Days. This contemporary drama was written and directed by John Constable, with music by Jenny Bliss Bennett, and performed by a mixed cast of amateurs and professionals. It reinvents the George and the Dragon legend in a Glastonbury setting. Having slain the Dragon, George sees the error of his ways, calling on 'Our Lady' (Jacqueline Haigh) and the 'Queens of the Earth' to help heal and raise it!
