Hey Josh, first off a massive congratulations to you, what a performance on a big day. My group was dead last to start so I was watching the pro race unfold as I waited to start the swim, you guys were coming into T2 as I started. My wife and kids were out there cheering you on and when I finished and heard you got 5th I was so happy for you.
It was so nice to meet you and your family at dinner that evening, they must be so proud of you.

Hi Josh, the only time I got excited watching the race online was when I saw you were in the mix and heading for a great finish. It really was quite funny listening to the commentators trying to figure out who you were. Very well done to you and hope to see more of you in other races!!!

Josh, so glad you enjoyed my country. The lakes here are wonderful to swim in 😎 I did shout you on at the start of the second lap just before the scaffold bridge, you looked in the zone buddy. Congrats on the 5th place. Oh also you downloaded the GPX file for the Lahti 70.3 that took place at the start of July 😉

Been following you for a while Josh. Your numbers in training showed that on a good day, when things go right, youd be at the pointy end of any race. Ive been waiting for you to have that great day out and this was it. Stunning effort! I was racing as well - rain made the bike spicy - saw quite a few serious accidents. And that run course - pretty much a non-grass XC course! Best course ive ever raced on.
Ah thanks Chris! It’s always so hard when you’re seeing the numbers in training but haven’t produced it on a big stage before, so I’m glad I managed to put it together.
But yeh congrats on getting around. Those roads must have been like an ice rink in that rain. We were lucky to miss it

Awesome race 👏. Can I ask about the front end of your tt bike. Is it the standard set up that the bike comes with or have you changed any parts? Particularly looking at the angle of you bars. Thanks 👍
of course! yes it's pretty standard. I've bought more angle risers from trek to tilt it up more, but it's all stock stuff from trek. nothing custom
Can I ask how you fueled for the race? I was there and I think i completely messed up that part.

Of course! I had 3 porridge pots 3 hours before, a gel 20 mins before and then 150g carbs on the bike within 1.5L and 750ml of electrolytes. 300ml of electrolytes / 45g carbs on the run

In England, you have lake district, but in Finland we are the land of thousand lakes ;)
I just wish our water wouldnt be so dark in general... its the purest in quality, but the sediment or what ever makes it quite dark abyss to swim in most of the lakes and rivers
I see your ranking has gone up 46 places, Josh. I suppose it would have been better if you had started off at 47, but hope it opens more doors for you.
