I like it. 4S is a good middle ground. Good for entry/intermediate level on-road bashers. I am happy HPI is back. Great unboxing as usual Vaz.
I recently got 1 of these and I'm quite happy with it for being a cheaper version of the infraction
My thoughts exactly. No reason it can't be set up to do the same stuff as an infraction for half the cost.

Nice, would be good to see a comparison between this and the new infraction Mega 1/8 scale and or the new Vendetta. Lots of RC reviews these days but not so many comparisons videos, I feel likes it makes things more interesting with the whole this vs that 😋

Ok I've owned both now. The Vendetta is objectively better in speed and more importantly handeling.
That said the look and the way the body rolls on the Mavrick looks really nice and scale especially in the grey.
Most annoying thing about the Vendetta is expensive proprietary wheels and tyres that don't last that long. Even the upgraded hoons although definitely better are crazy expensive and don't even last that long.

Recieved mine in grey yesterday via courier, definitely alloy shock tops.
For the price i think it is a fantastic rc car. Every angle of the body shell looks incredible. Gone through all of the screws and bolts to make sure that they are nice and evenly tightened down, will replace screws and bolts with stainless steel, installed antenna tube with heatshink over the antenna tube and capped off with silicone brake line caps. To run the supercharger you can cut off the turbo connection and bolt on the supercharger wich looks nice. I honestly think that hpi has done a fantastic job on this rc car. I do agree that a basic tool kit should be in the box and a mod pinion gear aswell. But in saying that with owning over 35 rc cars and boats etc i have enough spare parts and accessories sitting in labled storage trays for easy access to chuck in my tool bag for maintenance. Super happy with it and probably will buy another one to upgrade in all alloy for a show rc car.

Thank you so much for the kind words and for the detailed comment. There are some upgraded parts becoming available from Maverick themselves, so best to check their website for part numbers and check with retailers to see when they will be available. 😉

This community needs you to review all things rc. With so many brands available now days with so many upgrade parts and accessories available in all different brands and styles it makes things so hard to keep up with. Plus I honestly think that the price for all upgraded parts and accessories are way too expensive in Australia.
But I do have a great idea. Did you notice that there are plastic inserts in each wheel hex which i think is a great thing for mavrick to do, this will allow to stop dirt and debris from getting into the inner hex grub screws so they don't get blocked up with debris. Cool little feature. I also think that every rtr rc car should come with a heatsink with a fan / wether it be a cheap heatsink and fan would not matter. Just my honest opinion. Thanks for your reply to my questions. Keep up the great work with reviews 👍🇦🇺🤝👏🚘🏁⚀.

mine came with the blower installed, but i added the turbos as well to make it twice as quick lol
Bit of small heat shrink over the antenna wire with a slight bend , also holds the cap on better
Curious if the diffs are going to hold up against the constant speed drifting or if they're going to melt right away.

Hahaha 🤣 , i think hoons look the best . I bought two MAVERICK RACE TRUCKS also in grey . I have raised the body shell up slightly at the rear , and also put a couple of extra the felt spacers on the body posts , so have some extra rear wheel arch clearance , and also have some extra airflow clearance between the bottom of the rear body shell and inside top of the rear diffuser . The body shell stance on the truck now looks even cooler too . The hole in the middle of the rear diffuser will also now exit above the rear diffuser and out the raised gap of rear of the body shell , and also if i wanted or needed to , i could cut out the whole rear back panel section altogether but leave both the rear side panels intact . My two MAVERICK race trucks only cost £224 UK pounds each in the UK since the MAVERICK prices were lowered by £50 UK pounds on all MAVERICK RC'S here in the UK . I also bought two MAVERICK STRADA TC touring cars , and i think a steal at only £150 UK pounds each . Also with the race truck the bottom of chassis is going to be compressed and pushed down towards the ground by the air pressure going over the front and rear diffusers at high speeds , especially so if you leave the adjustable rebound shock collars at the top unwound positions .
I completely forgot about this thing. I'm kinda into this scale now especially with these new arrma cars.

its nice they form the looks they combined infraction with felony. The front looks a bit like from the Hoonicorn.
Great video! Given that this is a Quantum+ chassis, would it be possible to swap the motor and ESC from this Quantum R to Quantum+ XT to make it a bit faster with 4S, without any modifications to the chassis etc?
Some easy diy mods to reinforce roll cage inner and outer with a few chassis plate inhansments to toughen it up, pinless body mounts, nice and easy to do

Have to agree, the soild gun metal grey looks best. It's like I want to like the other colour schemes but they just don't seem to work on this truck.
Reçu la mienne ce matin , bon pas envie d'essayer sous la pluie , mais prochaine journée correct hop , bon carosserie franchement superbe , plein de détail sympa , le reste je pense cerveau et patte plastique bof bof les composants en général la qualité est plutôt basique mais pour un RC de ce type a 330 euros sa va quand même hâte essayer en 4s , pour le moment juste du Lipo 3s a dispo et 6s mais trop gros c'est pour le radix team corally que j'adore aussi
Can you flip the spoiler so it goes upside down.
I like my + but the center diff assembly is a weak point. Needs a thicker bearing or some adjustments to keep the rear input cup on the diff from flexing. It is a tuff RC, plenty of tumbles. That center drivetrain worries me because it looks the same.

Cool car but kind of a crazy low KV motor... apparently it get's about 75kph out of the box and it seems like a 2400kv or maybe even closer to 3000kv would really get it moving (like the Arrma 4S cars run a 2400kv with those huge tires and get more top speed, so why not this?)

This is cool i hope they do a 4s monster truck like just a little bigger than the recent 3s trucks they released. Also man are you gonna be getting the new 1/6 she zd racing desert buggy? Looks really durable the rc kiwis beat it pretty bad didn't break and it has mechanical brakes. So with the correct radio you could use only mechanical brakes and save a ton of heat!

Are there any alloy upgrades for it?
The truck looks great, period. But there's no way it's going to hold up on 4s. I already busted a rear drive cup on the plus only running it around on cut grass. I'll find something to put over the cup when I fix it.
A good turbo setup is always better then a supercharger.
Hopefully maverick rc will release more 8th scale trucks like the savage. I don't see why they wouldn't.

ok i like to ask hpi/maverick are the same co. they been sold a bunch of times do you think there going to be around long-term to have a second gen. quantum or what ever rc car or truck?

@@AussieRCPlayground I am gonna try a 22 tooth pinion see how much quicker I can get it but as is out the box on 4s I'd have to say it's at least 90 kmh I will put my GPS speed reader on it tomorrow

What makes the difference for it to handle 4s over 3s ?
These have a different motor and ESC to handle 4S power. This gives the car more torque which is ideal for a car this big.
