My eREVO wil do 70 out the box. After a new motor, better esc and batteries in sure it does 80+. I loved your videos brother
You were supposed to break it in. You just severely shortened the life of the engine.
And you need to learn how to tune the engine
Get the mini erevo electric it is a beast we had two they rip they can do a backflip from standstill

Nitro has a special place in my heart, yes its noisy, a pain to tune and very inconvenient.
But my dad used to take me out as a kid with my .15pro nitro rustler.

No break procedure thats why me and a few of you guys still have the revo 3.3 because of proper break on the 3.3
My brother and I saved up for Revo's when we were kids, he got a Revo and I got an S-maxx because I sucked at saving lol. This was 2004/2005ish I think. We had so much fun with those things, even though mine always overheated because I pretty much skipped the break-in lol. Good times. RC's have come such a long way. Back the only legit RC monster truck that sticks out in my mind that was popular was the e-maxx, and those things couldn't even crack 30mph. A modern Arrma Big-Rock or Traxxas Hoss/Maxx is SO far ahead of what you got back then.
We had Revo 3.3’s and I just remember the whole process of break in and servicing the diffs it was so fun. We did all the rpm upgrades and they were indestructible. All the exhaust upgrades and stuff nitro was just fun
I had a s maxx back in the day aswell ... I had soooo much fun and actauly down graded it to a .15 motor cause they ran longer without a new engine ...
Lol, now I feel old. Imagine if you can a world with the Blackfoot, Monster Beetle being technologically advanced, then being told they were actually Tamiya Frogs with big tires. That the true boss was the Mauri Big Bear and when you grasp this concept then even further down the road was the Clod Buster and Kyosho Double Dare. Lol. They have come so far, I wasn't shitting on you...it was just worse in the 80's but I guess it wasn't, each model my folks (Christmas was rc until OG Sega Genesis) bought me and each one was sick. I'm 46 I recently built a fully Treal'd up Losi LMT Gravedigger and bought an Infraction v2. My parents are in their 70's and the look on my Father's face when I lit the Infraction on 5000 100c x2 3s lipos, he's an old school hot rod builder...epic. Shit, I was impressed. It was awesome, he was always a part of legit racing, kinda thought rc's were interesting but whatever and that Infraction smoking the tires controlled drift around a light pole and then basically disappearing like an alien craft into the darkness. He understood they were cool and I wasn't dumb for my building high horsepower mud trucks. I did love speed. Just in 30" things. Oh, rc cars have come a long way. : )
I find nitro cars interesting from a mechanical view, but always think electric RC are so much easier to maintain, work on, and find places to drive them in.
You wouldn't be wrong and yet I voluntarily own 4 nitro cars and 1 electric one, for me nitro cars are more fun more of a challenge and I just like them more but omg they are such a pain to tune and finding places to actually use them without breaking stuff is hard lmao

I did nitro for 20 years , then went electric lately , but you tottaly got me wanting to get my Revo 3.3 out for the first time in many years , nitro is a blast , just a little more work and more stuff required , but still a blast !
Just bought a revo3.3 a month ago lots of fun but I upgraded the carb to a os 11k carb and it holds the tune a lot better then the stock carb
It does feel like Christmas at 5am watching this.

Because brake-in is boring, and he sells parts and cars ... so the more you brake your car, the more likely you are to click on the links below (above from here) and he gets money to build monster trucks and stuff. Educated guess, he may not do any brake-in at all.

When everything is working properly, the Traxxas nitro systems are amazing and make nitro so much easier. it's still been quite a long time since i bought a new one. still love them.
The whole Revo line-up of cars are my all time favourite. Absolutely love them. Awesome job, Traxxas.

The good old Revo 3.3 one of the true nitro legends, whilst the elec r/c are far quicker and easy to maintain the nitro will always be my fave. Just love the sound and the smoke trail

There was a truck released 11 years ago called the Losi Ten-T that has a remote start feature built in. I always thought that was a super cool feature and I'd like to see you try it on the Revo
the revo 3.3 was made over 10 years ago kevin is just REALLy late to review it
My dad still has his he hated pull starts because the strings would break or slip so the ten-t caught his eye that available at our local RadioShack at the time and the best part was that the spectrum controller it came could save 20 presets so he was able to buy spectrum receivers for his other trucks and bind them to the controller so we didn't have to bring a load of controllers everywhere we go wished most nitro cars used that system.
I got mine 2 months ago. It was my first nitro and I love every minute I spend on it.

@@KevinTalbotTV we got a granite, a 6s Kraton and a rustler 4x4. Not sure I can handle the stress and expense of running a nitro. Does look EPIC though. Keep up the great work dude 👍
@@KevinTalbotTV Kev can you recommend a first decent nitro rc, either monster truck or buggy. Something relatively reliable and easy enough to maintain. I have some experience up grading a brushed granite to brushless and all the pinion and spur malarkey, but I'm put off by the unreliability of nitro, but they do look epic though lol. Any recommendations or just stick with electric

I got the 2008th version it's awesome and has an OS21TM inside for 20L now. Perfect truck. The EZ Start was replaced of course through a pull start.
You need to get used to removing the E from the Revo and it’s great at two wheeling

Say what you want about electric cars being the greates thing. For me its always and will always be nitro cars! So much more engagement and realism. Dont care the extra wrenching, after all, this is what the hobbie is about.

The sound is why i don't like nitro because it sounds like a leaf blower or chain saw, and i hate the fact that the whole car wil get covered in a
layer of grease, and the engines need alot of maintenance and don't last very long. And the biggest problem is the damn noise, so you need to find
an area where no people live, or else they going to call the cops because of the damn noise, and i can't blame them because i would call to
when someone would ride here in the street all day. electric is way cooler because hardy any noise, and way more power and no greasy shit

Nice!!! I have the nitro revo also. Changed the servo also immediately. Too slow and weak to do jumping. Also I would change the stock 3.3 carb to losi 3.4 or even better OS 21tm one. Would give you low to mid speed driveability and very easy to tune.
Losi did a remote start nitro years ago where you could start it from the remote, it was an amazing piece of kit, they had a patent on the design at the time

My Revo is my favorite truck to hate, it drives well, it goes fast with the .28 I put in it, and it's generally pretty durable with the upgrades I have on it, but when it comes to repairing/cleaning/maintenance, it's the biggest pain to work on ever.
Still running it in half way through the video yet he's been absolutely nailing around a track 🤣👏🏻 what a guy

Hi Kev, sweet new ride! The green body looks incredible. I've installed autostart on my Nitro Revo3.3 so I thought I would share some tips. I used an Apex RC AUX channel on/off switch, a 2s lipo receiver pack, a relay to handle the high starting current, and a step down voltage regulator for the glow plug. The problem with my setup is that you have to manually shut it off on the remote once the engine is started. If you find a way to do it where it stops once the engine starts, i'd love to copy cat it. Cheers buddy!
I miss my nitro 4tec. I wanna say I upgraded it to the 2.5 motor with all kinds of goodies and I even had my brother machine me some custom steel gears. With a good tune that thing would run 80+ mph and honestly hearing those nitro cars hit second is sooooo sweet!

A good preventative maintenance try getting some limit straps and metal shock rod ends doing that will prevent the ends of the shock pulling out and also relieving stress on your shocks. It's common and every Revo car

Its not just you, the 2.5 and 3.3 rarely ever hold a tune on their own.......the .15 pro was the only trx engine that held a tune.
Need to get a better carb the stock ones don't hold tunes very well

there needs to be more nitro cars released from the big brands, electric is amazing these days but even the best lipos only last 45 mins, a nitro can run all day long
Just had mine running the other day, now it’s like the glow plug is not getting hot enough. I just swapped out the red black yellow and blue wires. Still not working properly. I’m stumped… love the videos buddy keep it up!
I’ve had the same problem in the past with my revo 3,3 and got so tired of having problems with the blue glow plug wire I just got one of the rechargeable glow plug heaters and still used the cranking of the ez start and never had a problem with it since!! Hope this helps! have a great day!
