    That’s bad A$$! I like the size u made. Very functional and easily removable. Cool touch with pelican boxes.

    Very cool design! Approximately what is the weight of that bad boy?

    • @BaptismOverland
      @BaptismOverland  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not too bad. It IS a bit heavy (I'm guessing maybe 30 lbs??) so keep that in consideration but I found that a lot of stuff people are building to put in the back of their jeeps are just as heavy anyway. I know trunk drawers etc tend to be heavy also.

    Yup that's how it starts, Ive build a DIY sleeper removing the back seat, dual battery set up then a power inverter, then a solar panel , small electric heater, fan, black out windows with insulation, roof rack with DIY rack for pioneer tools jerrycans and max tracks. You got the flu, ain't it fun?

    Great build, couple quick questions: 1. Would you be able to lock the box? 2. How would this hold up if it got wet? 3. Would there be a way to make it waterproof, I would be worried that the wood would warp if it got wet. TIA

    • @Spyyyder1
      @Spyyyder1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mark Rogers Nailing a sheet of roofing tarpaper to all the sides or raptorlining the whole thing would it waterproof quite easily

    Here is the thing.... Wood, does not belong in an automobile. Other than that giid video

    • @BaptismOverland
      @BaptismOverland  ปีที่แล้ว

      Old video. I actually have a new system now. But it's still wood and I haven't had any problems at all. It's been great. Coated with truck liner and haven't had any rotting. Is there a reason wood doesn't belong in a vehicle?

    Would that center hole be big enough for a fire extinguisher?

    • @BaptismOverland
      @BaptismOverland  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually had mine in there for awhile :) but it kept slipping and sliding. I put the strap in there as well but then it was so narrow that it was hard to wrap the strap around the extinguisher. I don’t want to have to fiddle with it in emergency situations

    Do you have room for the freedom panels back there?

    • @BaptismOverland
      @BaptismOverland  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do but it's awkward because of the levels on it. That's why I built a new system that utilizes the room a lot more. You can see that build on my channel

    How did you make the labels for the cases?

    • @BaptismOverland
      @BaptismOverland  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Designed them and then used a vinyl laser cutter. If you don’t have one though you can design something and send it to a company that prints our car vinyl stickers. There’s tons out there like carstickers.com or even sticker mule

    3/4" plywood is overkill, 1/2" or even 3/8" would work fine

    • @BaptismOverland
      @BaptismOverland  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Normally yes. But where I live, there’s a lot of humidity in the air. 1/2 and 3/8 plywood tends to start warping after a few years so I made sure the outside was as rigid as I could get it. It’s held up fine. The interiors are 1/2 though
