Meant to say how I appreciate you responding to our questions and comments. Most influencers I see don't do that. I don't think most influencers know how much it means to the sub that leaves a comment or question to get a response from the influencer. It shows the sub that you actually read and on some level care about what he/she took time to think out and type. Personally I believe and it may be wrong but I really believe that the influencer should Reply to every question or comment where a reply is warranted for the first 150-200 comments, especially if you're putting out only 1 video a week. If a sub took time to make a comment then the influencer made money off him/her and the sub watches and supports the influencers so the influencers should appreciate his subs and do that for them. It only would take 25-60 minutes max If an influencer is like Coop putting 2-3 videos out week then he should lower the replies to the first 100. That one thing would attract a way higher % of subs consistently. You are about the only one that replies, a couple others do and I appreciate it. If other influencers tried it for one year, I guarantee they would gain more subs in that year than they ever have before, GUARANTEED I really don't know why these influencers don't see how much it means to respond to your subs, it means the world to the subs,
Appreciate the kind words. I figure if someone takes the time to watch a video of mine and to leave a comment, it's literally the least I could do. It takes such a small amount of effort. 💪
@@BasementBrandon You do take the time to acknowledge and respect your subs and that is So Cool and they really appreciate it and like and respect you back. If you ever wonder, does this make a difference, trust me it makes a Huge difference You get it, where most don't. I've said before and will continue to say others should learn from you.
Fun fact, this video encouraged me to ask Sorinex if they could swap out the grip tape spotter steps for matte black diamond-plate spotter steps (like what you have on the GHD, but in matte black instead of the silver metal). They are willing! So consider that an alternative if the asymmetrical grip tape turned you off and you're considering this bench otherwise.
Great video on an awesome looking bench! That’s still annoying that the competition bench doesn’t have competition height standard. I should check the listing to see if they’ve clarified that.
I had never benched inside a rack, had never used safeties etc., until I started lifting at home, by myself. I'm pretty average in terms of physical dimensions and occasionally find my elbows hitting my safety straps when benching inside my Rogue Monster rack. That can be a bit distracting when lifting several tens of pounds. I can't imagine how often it might happen if I were a larger human being, particularly inside a narrower rack. Maybe my form is just terrible. That's a nice looking bench, btw. You're right about their shipping. It seemed crazy expensive when I was starting my gym and it didn't take long to realize I would not be outfitting my gym with Sorinex equipment.
Happy to help with form stuff if needed. Rogue racks are on the wider side at 49" so if you're finding you're still hitting safeties your grip may be too wide and/or your elbows might be flared out too much.
Sorinex makes some great stuff, however as you mentioned the shipping is not conducive for the home gym budget. I mentioned previously I had purchased the Leg Curl/Hamstring machine from Sorinex, however I cancelled my order at the last minute because I could not justify $2,400 shipping to the West Coast. So, Stray Dog just recently came out with a similar Leg Curl/Hamstring Machine (a little more expensive than Sorinex) and I purchased that one instead as shipping was $1,500 cheaper. I also purchased the Incline Bench. Sorinex also ships the leg machine fully assembled which would be difficult for me to move it into position in my Garage Gym. Stray Dog will ship partially assembled for me.
The bench’s height is not to competition spec but it’s “competition *like.*" That is word salad. By that standard, any bench with a pad and two legs is “competition like.” Misleading verbiage like this can damage a company’s reputation. Now I’m skeptical if the descriptions of their other products are accurate. (Great review by the way!)
Awesome video! Looks like a great piece of kit. I think I will eventually get a stand alone bench like that one day. Wonder if troller style j cups could be an idea on something like that. Similar to the 50 cal. Also.. I love watching a comprehensive breakdown of equipment that will never be available/I will never get is aus haha 😅
Yeah, when spotter deck popped on screen I thought the seam in the tape is not symmetrical but I thought it was the camera angle. It's not a huge deal but I would not be, just like you happy with that. I tell you, that is a fantastic bench, price isn't that bad I don't think. I actually guessed with your customization and being from Sorinex that the cost was gonna be between $3000- $3500.
This piece is a cool flex. I can see how it'd be nice to have a dedicated bench setup and I love how it matches your gym's theme and includes custom logos. Sorinex has some really nice equipment. Big week for Washington with the Adam Peters hire! What coach do you want to see hired?
I want them to go young and new. The exception might be Vrabel, but I don't think he's on their radar. Living in New England I do not want to see Belichick. I'd be cool with the Lions or Texans OCs.
@@BasementBrandon I'll be happy with Caleb Williams or Drake Maye at 2. Lots of holes to fill otherwise. OL is a glaring weakness. I'd like a LB, Edge, TE, and WR also.
@@TheCarterHomeGym I'm not o nthe Williams bandwagon. Haven't seen much success out of USC QBs in the league and the fact his backup went out in the bowl game and threw 6 TDs doesn't ease my pain at all. That being said, usually any QB I've been excited for them to take in the past (RGIII, Campbell, Ramsey, Haskins, etc) have not exactly panned out. I think the only one I was really not a fan of was Cousins since we drafted RGIII that year and he ended up being the best one of the bunch. Maybe they should just do the opposite of what I think.
Always loved these and given if I had the available space, I always wanted a dedicated bench station. A fail just IMO is they don’t offer these to adjust to Incline.
Another insightful review, as usual. A slightly off topic question - you have a banner behind your Rogue rack depicting the circular outlines of the three powerlifting "good lift/no lift" lights. I'd love to pick one up for my own home gym, if you don't mind sharing where you got yours. Thanx.
I made it. Talked about it a bit in a previous video but after a bad meet where I got some lifts turned down for technical errors I wanted a visualization to remind me to control the things I can control.
I can. The short of it is, they’re ok. The straps and design could be improved. It as flat trainers with a wide toe box they check a lot of the boxes. The biggest issue to me is the price point. They’re $150-$160 which puts them in Vivo category. I’d rather spend $90-$100 on Tolos or Avancus for a more affordable and arguably better option.
Besides Rogue and Sorinex, do any other equipment manufacturers make quality rack benches like this? Seems your safety strap is set near the top of the short posts… seems like for a bigger guy there might not be enough height to set the straps properly. Have held off buying the rogue version for years can’t stand that there isn’t a low crossmember for band pegs. Still looking for the perfect bench rack. Not sure it exists. Wish Rogue would do a 3.0 with a low crossmember but been waiting years not looking like it’s going to happen.
There are quite a few, if you're looking for made in USA I'd prob also check out Williams Strength who also makes benches for EliteFTS. For the straps it all depends on where you want the straps to save you.
Correct. No issues so far after 3.5 years. Obviously insulated walls would do a better job of keeping things warmer/cooler depending on the season, but as is the space tends to be around 60-72 over the course of the year.
I can’t understand it. A small gym in my area decided to add one of these competition benches into their already crowded weight room. It’s only good for one movement, bench press, because the bench is bolted into the rack.
They're a tad under 9'. I think the majority of things would fit except for maybe the pull up extensions I have on my rack. The other thing may be I wouldn't be able to store all my bars vertically.
Its disappointing that rogue will offer customization sometimes, but then they wont sometimes. It makes ordering confusing to know when to pull the trigger
Bench looks great, but total over kill, its too expensive. I'm not sure about the straps. The safety strap system has one point of safety, meaning the weight will only be held at the absolute middle of the strap. pins are better,
You can angle the straps like I've done here. This allows me to touch my check yet protect my throat and abdomen. I've done a video on why I feel straps are superior.
Eh I don't get it. Doesn't do anything a rack doesn't already accomplish, and if you're powerlifting competitively there's nothing that could convince me this is a better choice than a combo rack.
I can see your points, but I think this adds some of the versatility of a rack having mounting options, band pegs, etc. For me a combo is tough b/c I would not feel save training heavy squats in there by myself as they're not meant to be failed on.
So they cant be bothered to deal with small order customers in a timely manner and their pricing is near the most expensive especially when adding shipping costs. They then make their product descriptions incomplete and misleading and then upcharge for bench cover material that any lifter would know is the correct material for a bench pad. They use standard 3x3x1 material with absolutely no unique fabrication processes. Im glad they got it to where you need it but I wonder how someone without a prior relationship and a huge youtube following would be treated in the same circumstances. Its probably safer, cheaper, faster and more pleasant to use Straydog, Black Widow, Surplus or really any other fabricator for the exact same piece.
I def understand the frustrations as I went through it, I don't feel I had any preferential treatment. It took them several weeks to get back to me with my initial request.
@@BasementBrandon yeah I think that makes them look worse. You were a repeat customer and could help their business and they still treated you poorly.
