The actual Lesson 25 rudiment is this: llRLR^ (accent the last 8th note). There is no tap and then the ruff. The vic Fith site has all of 40 most important rudiments to learn. My source for the Lesson 25 rudiment the "Percussive Arts Society 40 International Drum Rudiments".
One question for the drumming inclined here if ok. Is it still called a ruff when cobh clearly plays a drag(double grac notes onto a single accent note) despite a ruff being formally understood as alternating single strokes played "crushed" together? I'm other words, does my distinction matter here in terms of formal teaching of technical terminology? Granted I have learned from this lesson, but I'm now asking about my understanding bof the terminology so that I don't mistaken my rudiments when teaching for what it's worth
Billy is definitely one of my favorite drummers, but he is not the same drummer he was 30 years ago, the only drummer who didnt lose anything with age was Buddy Rich, from age 30 to 69 you couldn't tell any difference in the energy of his playing, amazing
One of the best Drummers of all time........Period!!!
So good to finally see a video been a fan for 30 years.
That white shirt ROCKS as much as his drumming!!!!!
Cobham is the best :D
