This is hbcu band. There's a consistent soul in this band that ain't changing cause of no internal mess. They stick to tradition but understand the evolution of the band by allowing the students to have real input/freedom. Thank you staff and students for being serious about family & integrity throughout this band. This is why they make ppl feel them as a whole no matter where they go. Made my entire day seeing them as one like this. A whole vibe from start to finish media team.🙌🏾🔥
Fun Fact: For over 40 years, Inglewood High School's marching band was under the direction of Conrad Hutchinson III, son of the legendary Grambling State World Fame Marching Band director, Conrad "Hutch" Hutchinson, Jr.

@@jwiLLiamsjr69nah not always. You get these random kids ending up going to HBCUs (not always JSU but some maybe) from areas that aren’t usually feeding to em. Long as they got the drive they sometimes end up at HBCUs cause they want to experience the culture.

With all due respect, every marching band student -- including those who participated in the 605 Fwy at the Rose Parade - in LA County should have been invited to this event. And if they were invited and didn't attend, shame on them esp for those schools who are imitating JSU's marching style.

Or they may not post it at all due to a drone restriction in the area and may not want to jeopardize the video being taken down, due to posting unauthorized drone footage. *These are just assumptions based on my own experience with flying drones and the FAA rules,* especially when you have your drone registered to fly in one state (in their case MS) and may not have authority to fly it in CA without applying online for permission first.

Traveled from Culver City to see JSU. The band is a solid #2, the J5 are no different from the young ladies dancing. Definitely not a good look. The band sounds powerful and loud but not crisp. I would rank them behind Atlanta All Star Band and Southern University 2024 edition.
Other than the show, You can literally see the drum majors within the band directing, keeping tempo. Are you talking about marching in, because most drum majors have some type of routine.

@tessjannelle8824 well, anyone with a trained ear or a musician would be able to hear every instrument, even though the clarinets can be suspect a lot of the times.... But if you can hear every instrument as you claim, then you can also acknowledge the splitting of tones and overblowing among the tuba and baritone sections, the missed or sliding into notes in the trumpet section..
