Calli: "No motion controls, they're lame."
Subaru: "SHUT UP YOUR MOUTH."
They are real gamers after all.
Shuba English is so unique, real glad we got Calli here to expand her english vocab for her.
Not just unique, but damn good for someone who started learning only a couple years ago.
(0:34) Subaru saying *_"Yamete kudaSTOP"_* is something I didn't know I needed.
Coco: OMAEEEE!!!
Followed by "Yamete COULD YA STOP"
I see our dragon teaches this duck very well~
[Angry Dragon Noises]
She remembers, that's all what it takes to make a kagainiki smile
I didn't realize I needed a Calli and Shuba collab until this day...
Shuba english pronouncing "wiggler" was a little dangerous there. 😂
When Officer Subaru has to deal with some white trash
Wiggler Wednesday
i dunno why but it reminded me of the Pear Wiggler
Does anyone ever care about wigger?
Calli: "Did this duck just called me lazy?"
I thought she was complimenting Calli's a**.
Halfass is more like.. half doing something. Not truly lazy in general... 😅
It's just in that very moment
0:34 Somewhere in the world. Kson just got a craving for roasted duck.
What makes this great isn't just Subaru's English progress, but she is fully aware of where she's at with it and how it comes across. I've always appreciated her sense of humor.
I feel like seeing it in person like Calli is has to be a true blessing. It’s funny enough to watch the abstract persona of Subaru with doing her duck English, it’s another thing to be sitting across from her, being unable to control your laughter, and have her just look up at you like, “yeah? What?”
*Subaru:* "Yametekudastop"
*Calli:* "Anyone else hear screaming in the distance...?"
Matsuri: *laughing intensifies*
Seeing Calli collab with JP members and vice versa for Subaru, their interactions are always so damn wholesome to see ^^
I know she was joking but I think we all understand that Calli do be working her damn ass off non-stop.
The only way Calli would be half assed is if she worked half of it off.
Or a freak scythe swinging accident.
Subaru didn't have the intention to call Calli lazy there, it is one of those cases where the english word doesn't match well with the japanese one. "Tekitou" in japanese means "fitting, appropriate, suitable, etc...", but when it is said is reference to something someone said, it usually means the person said "just what was approppriate", it's difficult to explain, but it's like... "the person tried to avoid conflict by hiding their real opinion and just saying what was appropriate in the situation" OR "the person didn't want to make any effort to say something valuable, and said only what was appropriate", Calli thought of this second nuance when she translated it as "lazy", but it really is a complex word, very hard to do a quick translation (but they were just playing, she wouldn't stop to explain the nuances like I'm doing, I'm in a position of trying to clear up misunderstandings, she was not).
Well, that was long... the thing is "lazy" can be a translation to "tekitou" when in reference to something said, but was not the most fitting in this situation and when Subaru said "Calli is tekitou" i think she was trying to say what Calli said was "tekitou" but couldn't express herself well.
I agree. (Looks at her butt)
Dispite her broken pronunciation, Shuba voice is quite funny when she speaking english (even more than her nihongo) xD
JP members getting closer to Calli and finding out there's so much more than just the cool exterior is always a blessing. I love Calli so much. I love Shuba so much. This collab was awesome.
Also, the amount of effort Shuba's made to learn English, and the amount of progress she's made, is inspiring. My efforts to learn Japanese have always had setbacks. Finding out earlier this year that I'd spent all my life up to this point with undiagnosed ADHD, resulting in severe burnout, is helping with that though. ADHD meds really do help massively with being able to really commit to stuff. I would love to be able to hold conversations in JP like Shuba does in EN when I make my next trip around this time next year.
Whenever Subaru speaks English, she always manages to insult another member with no clue that she is, it’s always hilarious
Calli just made an evolution to YametekudaSTOP to YameteCouldYouSTOP, this is next level.
Tekitou literally means "befitting" but in this context, it means more like just saying the things that needs to be said, or being superficial. So "saying whatever" and "half-assing (compliments)" does make sense as Calli mentioned, however this is one of those word that can't be fully capture by one word in English.
I think using "randomly" might be a better fit for this case of "tekitou"
So shallow praise basically?
"Tekitou" always trips me up, such contradictory meanings.
@@Ausdrake in this case, yes. But "Tekitou" is more general. Basically putting the minimal effort to meet the standard, could be praises, work, anything that needs effort. In Mandarin, there is 「隨便」that is similar in meaning.
I'm 99% sure the CouldYouStop version was around back in the day and was even used by Coco herself once, but I don't have any sources
Subaru having a Nintendo Twitter moment saying "wigger" instead of "wiggler" is a canon event
They won a race held by the Uyghurs. What's the problem?
I mean...
I remember when the JP mems played GTA 5 and half of them just repeated english phrases and words, including... the N word. Pure cringe.
@@khaychiIt's not like they knew what it was anyway. Plus the character said it in kind of a melodic way, so of course they were going to be drawn to it, just thinking it's a funny foreign word.
Plus, the next time Miko played through it, I think someone had told her by then, because she immediately used the other N word. *NO.*
@@khaychimore like pure gold
The English actually just keeps getting better, I feel like I'M learning new vocab during this 🤯
See Subaru English so cute right ww
i never thought my reaction to the words, "shut up your mouth" would be to smile and say, "awwe" XD
This is actually really sweet seeing the two of them hangout
This is a Holo-pair that I didn't know the world needed right now, but I feel like we're not good enough for it.
if subaru said gommenasorry the curtain would fall
1:06 Don't hear her laugh like this very often.
Subaru confidence is amazing and inspirational
calli is many things but being lazy is definitely not one of them lol
Calli's blessed laugh
Some of the holo member's voice are so funny when they speak english, like Miko sounding like her mouth is full when she speaks it lol
I like Botan's english too
0:52 shuba doing mario cosplay
Subaru is a treasure
the kaichou yabetekudastop was a blast from the past
Her English is legitimately so much better than it used to be.
But that's definitely our duck.
I freakin' love Shuba, and every time she uses English, it is unimaginably wonderful. Especially when it's super happy and having fun like this.
This collab was very good, they both were really fun to watch play!
Subaru is among the many members that inherited the dragon's Japa-English.
Calli: Yametekudasai
Subaru: "Wait. Coco prepared me for this day!"
Subaru: "Shut up, your mouth"
I will no longer stick with shut your mouth. Shubas version sounds so much better
So according to Wiktionary, tekitou is:
1. suitable, appropriate, fit
2. whatever, random(ly), indiscriminate(ly)
3. half-arsed, lazy, slovenly
So yeah it's correct
Perfunctory is a good fit here.
Yametekudastop lives!!! Tatsunokos it lives!!
A unique English from Subaru. YametekudaSTOP
I did not know how much I needed subaru trying to read the english subtitles of a mario game
I'm glad Subaru can kind of relate if not respond to Calli's attitude... she's a pro.
As awkward as it is she is really trying. Props to her.
SubaMori is cute. Need to commission an artist of these two being cute together
Subaru has come a long way with her english, unironically.
The way she laughs when speaking with Calli sounds different than her laugh when speaking Japanese, it's funny
I feel like this combo is rare, it's like a secret recipe, I like it
"Calliope is half-ass." - Based Subaru
I’m a simple man, I see Subaru and I click.
So cute
She sounds like the computer voice from Alphaville
Only 13 seconds in and me and Calli are already laughing at something we know we can’t explain the joke for
So this is heaven
Subaru's english gotten so good and its so funny interacting with dad
If they ever made a JP branch for Big Finish, Subaru would be perfect for the Daleks.
Can't you imagine her screaming "Exterminate!"?
Yamete could ya stop lmao 0:36
New imagination of Yametekudastop
1:05 "usuhulu"
Hope she gets casted for voicing Donald Duck in Kingdom Hearts 😂😂😂
That duck is courting death I see...
Holy shit they look like older and younger siblings here
English sounds so good from the duck
That pronunciation of Wiggler damaged Calli more than necessary.
When Calli speaks duck
"Yamete CouldYou Stop"
I've been enlightened
Wigga?
I give her the pass
Them's fighting words
'We did it. We won a wigger race.' Subaru, pls. :/
Shuba Chan eigo jouzud
subaru english very unique!
i really love holive jp speak english
Haha 😂
subaru english too cute
Half-assed calli 😅
Nah, Calli is definately FULL-ass.
I wonder if "nonchalant" is more fitting of "tekitou" in this context?
Perfunctory is the setting.
still better english than bae's :D
(tbf... bae is from holo jp after all, so it's no biggie...)
Where can i learn duckglish?
Learn how to duck first. Then try to go Donald
Anyone know what Subaru is saying when see tell cali to ready? Never heard ぶて before
Time stamp?
It may have been "abune!" (abunai) "Watch out!"
