I have hundreds of hours in this game and i consider myself an okay builder. I came here expecting to not see anything I dont already know (I was just in the mood for some plazoo stuff) but to my surprise, I actually learned some new tricks. 👍

I only just started playing Planet Zoo and I'm absolutely amazed by your habitats! They look so beautiful. I didn't even know building custom barriers and shelters was an option without the animals escaping and stuff. Thank you for all your great content! I hope I can use it to get better. You've really inspired me.
Question: How to make habitats interesting for animals that don't enjoy a high amount of foliage on their habitat? There are some animals that prefer sparse coverage and i just can't make them interesting habitats to save my life.

Great tips thank you! I have a real hard time layering my foliage and your section of the video with steps how to do that and breaking that habitat down to show us kind of how you filled it in was great. I have a builds and tours section on my channel of one of the zoos I've been working on and struggle with it. I lean more towards natural habitats (like how the animals would live in the wild) so I battle with foliage that should go in the habitat but not put it partially under the ground (because that's not how they would grow naturally lol). I really like how the ponytail palms looked though after you were done though! I may try a little of that just to see how it looks. Thanks again for your tips! For me the issue isn't the actual building of the habitats that I find hard, its trying to figure out where to put everything and also how to start the enterance. That said, these are some great tips.
How did you build the platform in the penguin habitat like that? I've been trying to figure out how to do water habitats like that for penguins, otters, and beavers.

The only thing I struggle with are the fences. I don’t know any strategies that can help so I’m just sitting their and doing nothing as I see my Polar Bears escape.

But how many of those habitats can you build before your frame is collapsing? I mean it's hundreds if not thousands of pieces, isn't it?
That just all depends on your PC it will be different for everyone. The powerful your computer is the more piece count it can handle.
Hi Adam!! Awesome video, I completely agree that more foliage is so much better. But what about the animals that don't like plant coverage in their habitats, do you have a workaround?
I play in sandbox mode, so I can just turn off that setting or ignore them moaning ahha
@@adamup Haha sounds good! For franchise I also just found that some specific bushes have 0% impact on coverage, so now I'm using them to decorate without the animals getting pissed off... lol! Thank you for your reply!
can you post some of the colour codes you use for you most common colours
Rate good video mate, do you have any tips to stop the animals getting stressed? I think I'll try and use the custom barrier to break up the view a bit so they don't have hundreds of Sims looking at them
Hard shelter away from guest and use 1 way glass. You can find 1 way glass panels in the construction tab
I do like it but can you tell us what packs you were using.
I love how lively it looks with all the foliage but I feel like I can never use the amount I want without the animals being upset or visitors complaining of too many plants :( Looks like I need to practice more and use some of those tricks!!

How are you copying the pieces with them staying in position? Mine keeps snapping to and twisting.

How do you get water in that peng habitat without barriers?
How do I know with a custom made barrier if it meets the grade class necessary for certain animals?
That's one of the best things... it dousnt need to meet any grade requirements

How did you manage the XYZ not to be dependent on the rotation of the object?
Not 100 percent on what you mean but I think you mean that on the rotation wheel I you click align to world axis then It won't be dependent on the object
Does using so many different pieces for a wall alone cause performance issues in the long term when the zoo is bigger?
That all depends on the power of your PC but yes the more you add the more it will struggle with performance
What is thr grade and durability of the custom barriers and do they need maintenance?
They don't degrade at all
Now if my habitats would stop being 24% walkable with plants in them. lol
I can't duplicate the wall, not with the decorations. I have rewatched the step many times, and it doesn't work for me? I wonder if my game is bugged tbh, because I also can't feed some animals and I have tried several ways to fix it.
only the wall gets marked, even when I do the CTRL + left mouse button
Make sure the items and wall are all I'm same group if not just draw box over all of it, and click merge scenery pieces

I'm not so tech expert but I would suggest having a dedicated graphics card for any modern game

I mean i cant find in Planet Zoo the materials that you used for example the Conservation peases.@@adamup
@skypistoll5200 you need to have the pack, conservation pack. And the rocks are from the aquatic pack
What’s your favorite in the game? I like the birds and the reptiles!
Emu, it works with a range of different biomes, from desert to forest, and is not too small but not too big
the point is you need a Nasa computer to have so many objects and details on a single shelter - instead of using one only shape, you're suggesting a thousand - yes, it looks better, but the game will get slower if we customize that much 😞
Id like to see you build on a platform instead of pc
I don't own any other platforms, unfortunately, but I do believe PC is the best to play planet zoo on
R.i.p console players. Doin stuff like this will only let them make a handfull of habitats lol. Cool video thou.
There is actually keyboard and mouse support so if you need to play on console no worries.
@@red_life_redemption thats not it.. console players have a limit on how much stuff can be placed and how many animals they can have, when its 100% nothing can be added. So very detailed habitats and buildings will lead to 100% very quickly and them not being able to place more or have more animals.
