    I bought a 2019 Can Am Outlander 650. It is a beast. It rides very nice. I also have a 2016 Can-Am Outlander 570 and it goes like a son of a gun.The 650 just motors through everything steady as a rock.

      Will the 650 stand up on flat ground? I have a 570 love it, but wish it had just a little bit more low end punch.

    I bought the 19 XT1000R as a work horse and after 1 month tragically I have only been able to haul my wife out one bag of dirt ... however I have hooned around and got it up to 78 mph and have had a Blast with this Awesome Machine. One day I will do some work around the ranch on this Monster

    They are both great machines. I think they have really made waves with both, but the Outlander is such a good machine for basically all types of riders. They have done a great job making it an "everything" machine.

    Good review but I’m still happy with my choice getting the sportsman 1000xp. I bought a 2017. And it was that or a can am. I saw them both as really 2 different machines. Can am had the edge with the narrow track which I still believe was the true reason they perform so well in mud. But why have 90 hp and expect someone to not go fast. Polaris new this then. Can am does now. I don’t think can am is really thinking outside the box like Polaris is. Really the 2019 seems like it’s just tweaking minor things to either match the sportsman or maybe not lose to it. Both machines weigh close to 1000lbs. And are 15k$ I’ll be happy when the other brands start the 1 liter trend so we can actually get competitive machines not just a ford Chevy argument.

    You did not talk about the problems plaguing the outlanders like steering linkage unscrewing, known clutch problems and driveshafts misaligned that vibrates the diff seal to fail.

      Unfortunately they didn't have any XMR models to ride or review at the event. Everything I said in the review will still pertain to the XMR models. You're just getting the bigger ITP Cryptid tires as well as the relocated radiator up on the front rack for better cooling in the deep mud with the XMR versions. -Josh

    @iamapineapple5724 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I guess this is a long shot.
    I have a 2012 outlander 650xt, and it keeps frying the stator. Bought it used with no modifications, and put on 28" silverbacks, 1.5 inch spacers to fit the tires, basic snorkel kit, and a radiator relocate kit. No lift, no electric mods. It gets ridden hard but nothing extreme. Was able to get it out on 2 rides, then the 3rd ride out, about an hour or so into the ride, i noticed a loss of power so towed it home and found that the battery wasn't charging, so its obviously the stator frying. The last one put in got so hot that a plastic bushing melted (not exactly sure of its purpose or what it actually was)
    My question is, what could be causing this? The last ride we went on, it wasn't ridden hard, just light mud and trail riding. Could it be an electrical short somewhere? Also replaced the regulator but haven't finished the fix yet on the stator.

    • @markminyard4874
      @markminyard4874 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I Am A Pineapple I do know if the battery isn't in great shape you over work the stator causing it to get hot and fail prematurely. Just because it starts the motor doesn't mean that you don't have a bad cell or bad battery. Also if you run a lot of accessories. The stator can only produce so many watts and if you are pushing it , it will fail. Hopefully this helps you

    • @iamapineapple5724
      @iamapineapple5724 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For the last ride, itt was a brand new battery and there aren't any accessories on the bike other than the DPS, which i've read on a few forums that under compression, something will make contact with the power steering and can potentially cause a short, but really haven't gotten far enough into the fix to check it all out. Basically ive come to terms with having to do a hard look at every single wire on the bike, and thats causing a lot of procrastination. I've tried asking all over between reddit and various youtube videos seeing if i could get any input and you're one of the first to actually reply, so i appreciate that very much, but i dont think the battery is the problem
      After the last stator replacement, i tested the voltage and at idle in the driveway it read a solid 14 at 4k rpm, but once it hit the trail and a mud hole or two, it gave the DPS warning and within 30 minutes of that, the bike quit out completely on the way back to the truck

    • @markminyard4874
      @markminyard4874 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I Am A Pineapple ok and another thing to check when you have it apart is the magnets on the flywheel. I'm not sure if there is a problem with them on your machine, but I have found on quit a few that the magnets come unglued and cause problems. On the models that do have problems there is upgraded flywheels. I hope you find the problem and when you do I would love to hear what you find. Either here or we just started a youtube channel ( menard rebel riders ) has a picture of my wife and I.

    • @Cobradaddy
      @Cobradaddy 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have no clue about these machines or stators really, but when I replaced mine on my street bike, my research also pointed me to the rectifier or regulator possibly going bad along with the stator. If you don't replace it or check to see if it's good, it will keep burning stators.

  • @joelsorli2156

    Does the Outlander have the ability to run it in 2WD mode and throttle steer it through turns? On some trails, I love having the ability to whip the rear end around and dig out of a turn like a sport bike.

      I own a 2018 renegade xmr 1000. The belt hasn't slipped on me. I climb all kinds of things and the engine braking is unmatched by competitors. I do all climbing in low range. And it is plenty fast in low right around 50mph. If you ever have a belt issue, you put a maverick belt on it. And mine pulls 30" cryptids like nothing. You can break them lose at 30mph in hi easily. Hopefully this helps
