Love the video's nice and straightforward, hopefully the next one will be about all the different settings ignition cut, second gear pull away, etc etc
@darrenm7964 thanks for the positive comments 🙏 will be looking to put a deep dive video on XHP at some point, but still got lots to learn myself yet 👀
Do you mind me asking where you bought your XHP from? Most of the research I have done is only showing an in house map. Loving your content. Recently got an immaculate low mile 2018 440i. I have a boot full of gear awaiting fitting including a Remus Exhaust, an Osprey sports cat downpipe and a TU fuel pump. After that’s all fitted I want to get it custom tuned or buy the MHD tune and also the gearbox tune you’ve highlighted here. In time I’ll probably change the charge pipes and the air filter but that’s for down the line a bit.
I bought it directly from XHP 👀 link below... Make sure you buy the XHP TCU flash combo as it means you can re write as many maps as many times as you want. If you have all the bolt ons to go stage 2 + check out my other videos as I do FULL DIY videos on how to get to stage 2 including full downpipe fitting, and MHD uploads etc... i will link them below also .. you can 100% do all this yourself easily with the help from the videos and save £££s www.xautomotive.com/?srsltid=AfmBOoo_myXZQYIa1CUi0pQm9uvcbcGem-IPWKBZL9jFrbdgfbLOATTd th-cam.com/video/4e7fJonteu8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=WOGXR9SKMgTyPM26 th-cam.com/video/uF6jeh6CMiI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=d2dsfB37y_JVkFHH PS the B58 is capable 600bhp without changing charge pipes etc they are not a week point like in the n55 ✌🏻
Yep its worth it , also recommend reasigning the shift speeds to slow = medium thstbway comfort is still smooth but actually a bit faster and inset med to fast ;)
Great video mate. Thanks for the time differences. Your word “smoother” aside from starting in 2nd gear im uncertain of. XHP and professional custom MHD map user-the car shifts faster which does have a bit more jerk, but for performance tuning, that’s just the way it goes. I’ve wondered if this puts unintended stress on the transmission components or other aspects of the drivetrain, but I’ve experienced none. XHP says it’s actually better for the transmission because causes less wear with the faster shifting, less slip in the teeth. Lots of cars run the ZF transmissions and are tuned differently with differing shift speeds and timings and faster shifting is better for it and tends to last longer. Stock is more of a luxury smoothness associated with BMW with a hint of performance preference. xHP gives you all of it. Night and day difference. Like your video, tune being constant, adding xHP brought the car to life. Despite the run in period, I noticed it before the first on-ramp 1 minute after flashing. Almost like the flywheel is lighter. The sport+ DSC off kickdown in sport (auto mode) is insane and noticeably faster than stock. Now I upshift just to downshift because it sounds and feels so good. Best $350 I’ve ever spent on the F30. Great video mate!
@duncanj206 really appreciate your comments and thanks for watching it's nice to hear that others are experiencing the same with the XHP and agree that it's a bargain really for what you get in terms of performance and feel from the car. And as for changing gears in manual just to hear the downshifts is something I'm already guilty of too 😂💥💥💥
@0ldmanstew thanks 🙏 I had a "stage 3" twin hybrid turbo 335i touring (2009) at over 500bhp on a standard gearbox with XHP gearbox map and I chose XHP because it also increases the line pressure which is electronically controlled within the transmission. This means under acceleration with higher than stock power, the internal clutches the transmission uses are less likely to slip and increase transmission wear/reduce life span long term. So In short it's a no brainer ✌🏻
@adyali4000 doh! Well worth checking out some of the other videos then too.... at least you now know for next time and XHP and MHD have got good aftercare too 👌🏻 th-cam.com/video/e3glajawAPk/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/uF6jeh6CMiI/w-d-xo.html
@nigelday001 Thanks 😁 depending on how far you want to take it the answer is no extras, a stage 1 map should see you making around 300bhp and the XHP gearbox map would complement that nicely. You can then push onto a stage 2 with bolt ons like downpipe or sports cat if wanting more power, the b48 and b58 engines are very good at releasing more power while still being very reliable. Just make sure to keep up your regular maintenance 👍🏻 th-cam.com/video/4e7fJonteu8/w-d-xo.html
Lol, thanks for the shout out, i dont coment on anyones stuff normally so it freaked me out a bit, in a good way obviously. Did you re do your MHD and change the transmission to Manual/xHP? The main reason i put xHP on mine was because im in the middle of modding my 340i to a similar level as yours. Ive oredered the MPPSK and I have an AA DP waiting to go on. After some extensive research It seems if your running MHD 2/+/HPFP you should have xHP as a matter of protection for the ZF, even though it has torque limitations on a standard box the extra power can wear out the clutch pack. My understanding from what ive read is when you enable manual/xHP transmission, line pressure is increased when required to prevent slipping, everything is a bonus for me. looking forward to the next vid, yeah im old..... 😂
@DawgNo1 😂😂😂 I want my subscribers to know that I'm listening and will give shout out now and then when comments have reflected direction of the channel, there's going to be some big changes coming over the next year with lots more content on the way. Defo think XHP is worth getting on your car as you say it can help keep your gearbox safe, especially when you getting toward the 500 - 600bhp 😈
In gear acceleration might be a better measure, say 30-70. It takes out having to try and manage wheelspin/launch and gives a good indication of overtaking ability.
@billsandhu2001 Not yet.... I'm planning on possibly doing a deep dive video on XHP at some point so will include my findings then, but my advice now would be .... first gear you should be shifting at 4500 rpm. 2nd gear should be 5500 and all other gears should be 6k 😁😈

Great video. Ive been debating whether to get xhp for my 2008 135i. My only concern was whether it adds stress to the transmission.

Damn wish I knew this earlier paid a company nearly 600 for a remap and xhp remap ended up with problems after a week. No accountability either!

XHP is a rabbit hole, endless messing about. It’s worth it
Wait until you get a custom map, you gain a lot and you can switch between them in seconds
This is so interesting and a well put to video . I have a 2020 330i , what extras do I need to get in order to map the car ?

Btw, have you set shift points yourself? I'm looking at getting xhp myself.
